Detectives believe a series of shootings across Canberra last week which left a man in hospital and a pet dog dead are targeted. Police raided homes in Belconnen and Watson yesterday morning and arrested a man in Fyshwick over alleged drug and fraud offences. But they're now appealing for the public's help to identify three men they suspect are behind the shootings.

00:38Investigators later determined the same home had been shot at several times around Wednesday

00:44The intentions of the offenders are to steal items and clearly also to harm people and
00:50inflict violence on them.
00:52Police say other recent shootings in Florey and North Lynham are unrelated.
00:57We've obviously had a spate of the shootings, it concerns us both in terms of the impact
01:03on the community and the people involved but certainly in terms of all of the incidents
01:09we don't have any concerns that there's any ongoing risk to the community.
01:14The three adult males were well covered so we don't know their identities.
01:18One of them is using a long arm rifle and has clearly discharged that rifle at persons
01:24in their homes.
01:26Police raided properties here in Belconnen and Watson yesterday and say they've made
01:30one arrest for non-firearms related offences.
01:33They say their investigation into the shootings is ongoing and they're urging anyone with
01:37information to come forward.
01:39Someone knows who these people are, we need to know who they are, we need to get the firearm,
01:43we need to know what car they're using, who they're offending with, what they're doing
01:47with the proceeds of what they're stealing.
01:49Police don't suspect a link with organised crime.
