00:00Morning everyone, thanks so much for coming and I just want to express my
00:04gratitude to all of these folks who came today so that we can have an open
00:08discussion about what I believe is one of the most important things that we can
00:12have a discussion on or action on in our country and that is the education of our
00:17young people. As Representative Tanako said as we were ending the meeting which
00:22I thought was incredibly appropriate and that is that this is not a partisan
00:27issue, this is about the children of America and it's the next generation, the
00:32generation after that and if we want to have our leaders, if we want to have that
00:36next group of engineers and doctors and lawyers and plumbers and electrician and
00:41HVAC operators, then we need to focus on how they can best have their education
00:47and I believe and I know the president does believe this as well, the best
00:52education is that that is closest to the child where teachers and parents, local
00:57superintendents working together and local school boards to develop the
01:02curriculum for those students is the best way that it can happen. Funding from
01:07the United States government will continue through the programs that is
01:11that have already been established and I will look forward to continuing to work
01:15with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle and I welcome the fact that
01:20these folks came today and expressed their concerns and shared in an open
01:24collegial format their concerns and how we can lead now to work more together.
01:29That's the way it ought to operate and I'm very happy to have had them here. So
01:33I'm gonna I'm gonna let them answer the questions. I just wanted to come out and
01:37have you here. Can you just ask a question? When are you going to shut
01:39down this building? Well, we've we've had our discussions already. So thank you
01:43all very, very much for coming.
