00:00I think what you've seen in these last few weeks that when this administration is undermining

00:16the economy and bringing us down, when costs are going up and corruption is going up and

00:22chaos is going up, when they're undermining our national security, Democrats are on the

00:27offense.

00:29Ask Cory Booker, right there.

00:33He's making the case for the American people.

00:36Look at what happened last week when we find out that they threatened our national security

00:41and the Intelligence Committee Democrats, led by Mark Warner, asked those tough questions.

00:47Look what we're doing here.

00:49We are leading in the courts with Democratic Attorney Generals, we are leading in Congress

00:56and we are leading with our constituents by our side.

00:59So this tariff bill, I cannot tell you how important this is right now.

01:03In Minnesota, Canada, we can see Canada from our porch.

01:07Minnesota's trade with Canada is more than our combined trade with number two, number

01:12three, and number four below that.

01:14I just came back from a 14-county rural tour in our state.

01:18People just showed up.

01:19They weren't activists.

01:21They weren't activists at town hall meetings, at small things, in small towns, and it's

01:24devastating them.

01:25Because the Canadians are pinched.

01:27As Senator Warner pointed out at our earlier press conference on this, Canadian tourism,

01:33tourism from Canada to the U.S. is down by 75%.

01:38You have, once you undermine a market, and if farmers or people in Canada think, you

01:43know what, I'm going to go buy from someone else, because I can't trust this trading partner.

01:47It's not just that moment.

01:49It is long-lasting.

01:50In addition to the numbers that Senator Kaine mentioned, overall, these tariffs, beyond

01:56Canada to all the other countries, result in a national sales tax on Americans.

02:02For every American family, if you look at all of them, including Canada, $5,000 per

02:09year sales tax, increasing the cost of a new home by $20,000, increasing the cost of American-made

02:17cars by $3,000, eliminating up to 400,000 American jobs.

02:21So I thank Tim for his leadership.

02:24I thank Senator Schumer for moving this along, and Senator Wyden.

02:27We have to have this vote, and the fact that we can get some Republicans to stand up, I

02:32hope Cory Booker is showing them right now, we only need four of them to stand up, and

02:37we can stop this chaos.
