00:00Good morning from D.O.S.T. Pagasa, this is our weather update for April 2, 2025.

00:06At the moment, there are two atmospheric systems that are affecting us in the Philippines.

00:12One of them is what is called Northeasterly Wind Flow.

00:15This is like a breeze, they have the same direction of the wind, but the Northeasterly Wind Flow is weaker.

00:21And the low temperature or the cold brought by the Northeasterly Wind Flow is not as strong as the breeze.

00:28This is what will bring a cloudy sky with a weak rain or drizzle here in the eastern part of Northern Luzon.

00:37On the other hand, Easterly is what is affecting us in the rest of the country, including Metro Manila.

00:44This Easterly is the wind from the equatorial region, the Pacific Ocean to be specific.

00:49And this is because of the rotation of the world in its own axis.

00:53And because the wind brought by the Easterly is hot, we expect that the temperature and heat index that we will experience will continue to rise and fall.

01:04Especially in places near the coastal area, in the urbanized area, in the low elevations.

01:13This includes Dagupan, Pangasinan, Birac, Catanduanes, and Sambales.

01:20For our forecast for tomorrow, because of the Northeasterly Wind Flow, we will continue to experience drizzle, cloudy sky, and rain here in the eastern part of Northern Luzon.

01:34This includes the Cagayan Valley region.

01:38And on the other hand, in the western part of Luzon, the sky is clear.

01:42This means that it is sunny and clear, but there are still chances of rain.

01:48And on the southern part of Luzon, this includes Metro Manila, because of the Easterly.

01:53Tomorrow, we will experience a cloudy sky, but there are still chances of thunderstorms.

01:59And even if it rains, it will not last long, and the thunderstorms will disappear.

02:06The temperature in Metro Manila is from 25 to 32.

02:12It is also the same in Legazpi.

02:15In Tagaytay, it is 23 to 32.

02:18And in Baguio, because the elevation in Baguio is high, it is 17 to 25.

02:23Relatively, the temperature in that place is cooler.

02:27In Palawan, because of the Easterly, we will experience a clear sky, but there are chances of thunderstorms.

02:35The temperature here in Puerto Princesa is from 25 to 32, and 26 to 33 in Calayaan Island.

02:43In Visayas and Mindanao, the sky is relatively clear, but there are still chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

02:53And we expect that in the next few days, the Easterly and the rain will increase here in Davao region.

03:03The temperature in Cebu is from 25 to 31.

03:06In Iloilo, it is 24 to 32.

03:08In Tacloban, it is 24 to 31.

03:11And in Davao, it is 25 to 33.

03:14We do not have a gale warning today, and it is possible for our fellow Filipinos to go fishing and seafaring.

03:22But we should be careful in the northern part of Luzon, here in Batanes and Pabuyan Island,

03:29because we can experience moderate to rough wave heights.

03:35In Metro Manila, Baguio City, and Legazpi, from April 4 to April 6, until the weekend,

03:43we expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies, but there are still chances of thunderstorms,

03:50especially in the afternoon and evening.

03:53And we should also be careful in the high heat index that we can experience.

03:58Except here in Baguio, because as we mentioned earlier,

04:02because of the elevation, the temperature is lower than what we expect in the area.

04:09In Metro Cebu, Iloilo, and Tacloban, the effect of Easterlies continues.

04:15When we go out, especially in the morning and evening,

04:19we should use protective equipment and clothing.

04:24For example, a hat or an umbrella to protect ourselves from direct exposure to sunlight.

04:30Also, to adjust to the so-called heat index.

04:36Basically, partly cloudy to cloudy skies in the areas that we mentioned,

04:39but there are still chances of thunderstorms.

04:43In Metro Davao, this is what we mentioned earlier,

04:45that because of the high propagation of ITZZ,

04:50it is possible that on the weekends here in Davao,

04:53we can experience a cloudy sky that includes rain and thunderstorms.

04:58In Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga City, we will continue to experience the effect of Easterlies.

05:05This is what will bring us on Friday,

05:08a cloudy sky, sorry, partly cloudy to cloudy skies,

05:12where there are chances of thunderstorms.

05:15In our sunset, it will set later at 6.09 PM

05:21and will rise again tomorrow at 5.51 AM.
