00:00What are your thoughts on this whole like lib duels thing?
00:05I mean, it's on Grant's channel, too, which is crazy to me.
00:10So and there is now I can't believe I'm saying this.
00:14There's now breaking news that happened just moments before we went live
00:17on on this channel.
00:18And this is, again, take this for what it's worth.
00:21Flushing a golf we've talked about in the past has been plugged in a lot of things,
00:24but you just never know who the sources are.
00:27But so we just to kind of trace it back
00:29for those who are not aware of how this all works.
00:32There are, of course, all these creators who, you know, some of whom
00:36are on this creator council as devised by a tour.
00:39Many of whom played played in this, you know, said the creator council,
00:43like even these guys are they don't even know what it is.
00:47So but whatever it is, it's this it's affiliation with the tour
00:51and this thing that also, you know, they play.
00:54They played in now two creator classics.
00:55There's one, of course, last year at East Lake and the most recently TPC Sawgrass.
00:59And now that same set of guys, including the guy who just won
01:02the event at Sawgrass, is going to go play, I guess, this week
01:06in this live duels thing in Miami.
01:09And so the PGA Tour just I can't.
01:12I can't believe this is a piece of news I'm reading.
01:14This is via flushing a golf.
01:15The PGA Tour reached out to creators involved with live golf, the duels
01:19and threatened them with potential future suspensions
01:22if they participated in the unsanctioned event in line with the rules
01:25for nonmembers who play full live golf league tournaments.
01:28The creators pushed back, however, and now the threats of sanctions
01:32have been dropped.
01:33I cannot believe in the year of our Lord, 2025,
01:38that PGA that YouTube golf creators
01:41somehow have more leverage than PGA Tour pros.
01:46But here we are.
01:47I just, you know, I mean, I think it's like, look, anything good
01:50that you create that people have interest in is going to get copycatted.
01:53And so, you know, I think that live doing this like it obviously makes sense,
01:58especially because there are existing relationships.
02:02Like it's not like this is the first time Grant Horvath's
02:04going to play on camera with Phil Mickelson.
02:06In fact, he's done it a number of times before.
02:08So the PGA Tour knew that when they issued him an invitation
02:12to, you know, the Sawgrass event, the Sawgrass Creator Classic.
02:15And so it's not like they don't know there's going to be some sort of commingling.
02:18But, you know, it's funny that we've arrived here
02:22and lives doing this thing.
02:23And you have all these people that are on your creator council
02:26that are going over and helping live, launch their own competitor product.
02:30So, yeah, you could see why the tour would would be upset by it,
02:34because, you know, they let these guys come play the
02:39the Sawgrass thing, but also they're they're not under contract
02:42for the PGA Tour as members.
02:44The only person that I think this should affect should be Wesley.
02:48And I know Wesley will probably disagree on this, but he is a PGA Tour member
02:52supporting a tour that that the PGA Tour currently is not in business with.
02:57And so they are.
02:59I think most PGA Tour members would agree that that Wesley
03:02probably is going to get suspended.
03:04I'd be shocked if he didn't.
03:07But everybody else, they can do whatever the heck they want.
03:10It doesn't bother me at all.
03:11The fact that it's going to be on Grant's channel, good for him.
03:17Am I going to watch?
03:18No, but I'm sure there will be people that watch.
03:20And if they're into that, great.
03:24But I guess the only other thing that maybe the tour feels like
03:27they've maybe have given guys or like really push for
03:32when, let's say, just exemptions like they've they've put together,
03:38you know, for these guys, an exemption to get into, let's say, Myrtle Beach.
03:42So like those things might be disappearing a little bit.
03:44Personally, I think if you're supporting another tour
03:47and like a Myrtle Beach classic is doing all these qualifiers
03:52for the creators for a spot, I'd rather go to a player that
03:57that maybe isn't a creator.
03:59That is a guy who's trying to get their way onto the PGA Tour.
04:03If if it if it was me, that's what I would support anyways.
04:08So if you're going to double dip on both, you can't have everything
04:11now at this point.
04:12Now, I know it does create buzz and interest for an event like Myrtle Beach,
04:17which doesn't have a ton.
04:18But that's the side of the coin I look at, too, which is listen.
04:22Like, for instance, George has gotten a spot into like Bermuda.
04:27So like they've gotten exemptions and spots.
04:29And yes, maybe the tournament directors from these places can give them spots.
04:34But also, I think the tours help push these tournaments
04:37to to help give some spots to, you know, a grant hasn't played an event.
04:41But who's to say you won't?
04:44So I think that's the you know, the potential line
04:47you might cross with the tour is, OK, if you're supporting to live on this,
04:51we may not lean quite as heavily into giving you guys spots in the tournaments,
04:55which in the first place, do they really need?
04:58I don't know.
05:00Personally, I'd rather go to the players that are trying to play golf for a living.
