00:00The rollercoaster week of sorts for Blades Brown, this is, you know, he ended up missing

00:10I mean, just sort of jokingly early on, he bogeyed his first three goals of the tournament.

00:15And then you responded to that text a day later when he recorded 10 birdies in a row
00:20on Friday and he didn't have 10 birdies in a row.

00:42Still, the point is like he first pro tournament.

00:49And I guess if you haven't been with this, you don't follow the pro game.
00:54You wouldn't know who this guy is because he's 17 years old from Tennessee, just turned
00:58pro, had plenty of offers to go to high level college programs, turn them all down, turn
01:03down the NIL said, I'm going to get my journey started.
01:06And so he's only got seven sponsors exemptions.
01:08If he gets seven, we'll see if he gets to that number.
01:11I'd imagine that he would.
01:13But still, that's a lot to ask for the 17 year old.
01:17And now even more difficult, right, is the special temporary status, how that number
01:22changes because in the past, right, like it was that number.
01:27Now that number is going to be even more difficult to get to because it's top 100 now.
01:31So and we all know special temporary status doesn't mean a thing.
01:36So it's a really tough spot to be in.
01:39If I were him, I probably would have gone to college for a year and did Q school in
01:46the fall.
01:47You know, that that seems like that would have made more sense to me.
01:50I'm not him.
01:51He obviously feel like it feels like he's ready to go.
01:54But that's a lot to ask for showing up with no status on the corn ferry.
01:59You know, obviously not on the PGA tour because he's, you know, still in high school.
02:04Where do you think he goes if these starts the sponsor exemptions on the PGA tour don't

02:09I mean, does he try to Monday into corn ferry tour events or PGA tour events?

02:14And those are getting cut down.

02:17I mean, I think he probably got paid pretty well just from a sponsor standpoint or something.

02:35But I mean, your guess is as good as mine, because that to me, it seems like just doing
02:43a year go and like even the prevention could have been, hey, coach, I'm going to come play
02:48for a year.
02:50But the only thing is, I got to be able to do Q school.
02:52And if I make it through, I'm leaving in the spring.
02:54Now, a lot of coaches will be like, hey, I need you.
02:57I need you here the whole year.
02:59Like I can't have you do Q school and just jet out.
03:03And that's understandable.
03:04A lot of coaches would probably feel the same way and probably have a rule and handle it.
03:10You know, to where guys just you can can just come in, play four weeks, and then you're
03:15just stuck there, you know, leaving a guy off of a team instead of limiting a guy's
03:21chances to play.
03:23Yeah, that's that's a really interesting one.
03:25The dynamics involved there and college roster composition is those roster spots get cut
03:30down through revenue sharing and everything's getting tighter.

04:53So I like that, but I just hate that feel like if you told me, hey, hit a little knock
04:57down full iron with that feel, I would miss the ball.

05:04I'm glad we got to kind of touch on his process, but also just that swing of a guy that, you
05:08know, we're going to be seeing at least six more times on tour with those exemptions and
05:11trying to kind of make his way, you know, full time, right, six times on tour, right?
05:16It's tough for him, like the starts that he may get could be opposite field events.
05:21And you know, with the points, how that works, you got to get to go out and dang near win
05:26that event for it to be worth it for him.
