00:00Steve.
00:01Has the President fully made up his mind on the level of tariffs to impose tomorrow?
00:05We keep hearing about a 20 percent flat rate.
00:08The President said last night he has made a decision and a determination.
00:11I was with him in the Oval Office earlier, and he is going to announce that decision
00:15tomorrow.
00:16I don't want to get ahead of the President.
00:17This is obviously a very big day.
00:19He is with his trade and tariff team right now, perfecting it to make sure this is a
00:23perfect deal for the American people and the American worker, and you will all find out
00:27in about 24 hours from now.
00:29And are the car tariffs going to go into effect on April 3rd as scheduled?
00:33Correct.
00:34Yes, they will.
00:35Okay.
00:36And last thing, would you like to respond to the Chinese military drills around Taiwan?
00:40Yes, I would.
00:42As a matter of fact, the National Security Council briefed me on this this morning, and
00:46they said that the President is emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace in the
00:52Taiwan Strait, encouraging the peaceful resolution of these cross-strait issues, reiterating
00:57our opposition to any unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force or coercion.
01:02That is directly from the National Security Advisor.
01:04Just for you, Steve Holland of Reuters.
