00:00Hello.
00:01Hi.
00:02Hello.
00:03Hi.
00:04Are you Becky?
00:05I am.
00:06Nice to meet you.
00:07My name's Maya.
00:08Oh.
00:09Maya's just here.
00:10Oh.
00:11Hello.
00:12Hello.
00:13How are you?
00:14I'm very well, thank you.
00:15Thank you for the lovely note.
00:16I really appreciate it.
01:17You'll be pleased to hear I'm not going to make a speech, but as a very, very proud patron
01:25of Saved Lives, I just really wanted to thank all of you here for everything you're doing
01:31for domestic abuse.
01:34Nothing would have happened without you, and Saved Lives has contributed so much to domestic
01:42abuse.
01:43If it wasn't for Dianne Barron, who I see hiding in there, sitting round that kitchen
01:49table, it wouldn't have happened.
01:51I certainly wouldn't be here now, and it's just covered so many areas, and it's touched
01:58so many people, and it's saved so many lives, literally, Saved Lives, and I would not be
02:06standing here if it was 10 years ago, and none of you would have been standing here
02:10because we wouldn't have been talking about it.
02:13It was a taboo subject, and nobody actually wanted to talk about it, but now, here we
02:19are, 10 years later, we've got survivors telling their stories who have been too, you know,
02:26years ago they would have been too ashamed to come forward to tell their tales, but now
02:31they'll get up and they'll talk and they'll inspire others to talk, so it's just to say
02:36we've come a really long way, so we must go on doing the same thing, so all I can say
02:42is onwards and upwards, and a very happy 21st birthday to Saved Lives.
03:06I fondly think that when you sweetly sounded the Christmas card, yeah, yeah.
03:16Oh, well, I surprised you, no, I watched, I couldn't believe it.
03:24I know, I popped up, and I thought to myself, can I get lots of the nice little things,
03:34can I get lots of the nice little things, can I get lots of the nice little things.
04:34I think there's a bit of, sorry, still working away, I guess.
05:02Yeah, I'm here, beside you.
05:06How did they get you on board?
05:08I invited them, yeah.
05:10We got on with them straight away.
05:12Well it's so important to have all the people.
05:14Yeah, we all work together.
05:16But yeah, it's so nice having you.
05:24It is really nice, to find space to play.
05:26It's really important.
05:32Yeah, it's really important.
05:34Lovely to meet you.
05:38It's nice to see you again.
05:42It's so nice to meet you.
05:48Well it's lovely to get together with you.
05:50Yeah, absolutely, it's so nice to see you again.
05:54It's so nice to see you again.
05:56There we are.
05:58Thank you so much for hosting today.
06:00It was beautiful, yes.
06:04I know, it's suddenly got quite warm.
06:06It's so cold here.
06:08Oh no.
06:10Yeah, it's a beautiful spring day.
06:14So I've got Bamboo, which is a small grassroots organisation for women who are experiencing domestic abuse in Nottingham and Darting.
06:24So it's still really busy.
06:26He's two and a half now, so he's a big boy.
06:28Quite a hat.
06:30Yeah, absolutely, he's gorgeous.
06:32How have you been? You've been okay?
06:34Yeah, absolutely.
06:36Busy, busy, busy.
06:38We're off to Italy next week.
06:40A bit of sun and fun.
06:42A bit of fun.
06:44A bit of a process.
07:12Oh, you did?
07:14Yes.
07:30I joined the panel right from day dot, right back in the beginning.
07:32It was like 2020?
07:34Yeah.
07:36I joined the panel and I've loved every minute of it.
07:38It's really helped me get through.
07:42I suppose having women that understand and want to listen and you feel heard.
07:46I had the joy of meeting Diana many, many years ago.
07:50And that was the beginning of...
07:52I've not seen this just before.
07:54And I was, I sort of created with Petty.
07:58I thought it was that event that you came to on 20 December.
08:02Oh, it's great.
08:04She's a little dino.
08:06She's rushing around like a rocket.
08:08She's two.
08:10Two at a time.
08:12And I'm out as a result.
08:14I'm so proud of you.
08:16And I still think of it as a gift.
08:18I'm not done yet.
08:20I'm not done yet.
08:22I'm not done yet.
08:24I'm not done yet.
08:26I'm not done yet.
08:28I'm not done yet.
08:30I still think of it as a gift.
08:32I'm not done yet.
08:34I'm not done yet.
08:36I'm not done yet.
08:38I was so worried last time.
08:40I was worried.
08:42How long has it been?
08:44How long has it been?
08:46Two years.
08:48It's been two years.
08:50Obviously we're running the schools and educating people.
09:30I want one.
09:36I think it's very hard at the minute, being in this heavy industry, it's pretty hard.
10:03It's hard, most of all hard.
