00:19It's lovely, I've got quite a good relationship.
00:25I have got an amazing relationship.
00:27I think this might be on as a skeleton.
00:30Oh, nice to see you again.
00:32Lovely to see you too.
00:38Yes, that's right, that's exactly the last time we met.
00:40I've spent a lot of time in London now,
00:42and it was great to be with you.
00:44Lovely to see you again.
00:46Yes, very nice to see you.
00:49I'm lucky it was the first day I was in my land,
00:52also for a minute I was in my land.
00:54Lovely to meet you.
00:56She was the first maternity hospital to make samadhi herself.
01:00With bricks.
01:02You taught her how to make bricks?
01:04Well no, we needed the bricks to be made,
01:06and men were charged with too much.
01:08Yeah, too much.
01:10I'm fantastic.
01:27It's such an honour.
01:29It's a secret, somehow I've got the secret of you somewhere.
01:34Yes, it is.
01:36Very nice to see you again.
01:38Wonderful pieces.
01:48I don't know what you spend your Christmas watching,
01:50Mr Pemberson.
01:53Do you mind?
01:55It's great of you to come to the Lush,
01:57and have a few years at the Lush.
01:59Absolutely.
02:01Are you ready?
02:15I think we've all been struck by Tom.
02:19Harry is at the Royal Albert Hall.
02:39I'm actually a fan girl now.
02:41Used to be.
02:43I wouldn't be very good now that I'm retired.
02:46I'm definitely old enough.
02:48Thank you so much for the invite.
02:50It was good.
02:52Nice to see you again.
02:54Did you enjoy it?
02:56It was good fun.
03:04Here's our special cups.
03:09I was on duty last night.
03:11Were you?
03:14It had to be done.
03:22Ladies.
03:24More ladies.
03:26And several gentlemen.
03:28As your Pride President,
03:30it's a huge pleasure to welcome you
03:32all to Buckingham Palace today
03:34to mark
03:36the 15th anniversary
03:38of WOW.
03:40A few months before
03:42the first festival
03:44in 2010,
03:46I hosted my first WOW meeting
03:48for the six members
03:50of the Steering Committee
03:52at Clarence House.
03:54Looking back at my notes that day,
03:56I see the attendees
03:58describe their plans
04:00for a pioneering
04:02and groundbreaking platform
04:04that will present the very best
04:06of recognised and emerging talent
04:08for women around the world
04:10in fields of cultural,
04:12environmental, education,
04:14political
04:16and economic leadership.
04:18In a simplified form,
04:20I should have noted
04:22a pioneering
04:24and groundbreaking platform
04:26for women who refuse
04:28to take no for an answer.
04:36Five years later,
04:38I was delighted to become
04:40President of WOW.
04:42Since then,
04:44it's been a very special fixture
04:46in my diary to host
04:48all of you each March
04:50on and around International
04:52Women's Day.
04:54I've also been lucky enough to be
04:56President at WOW events across
04:58the globe, including
05:00in Jordan, Gambia, Ghana,
05:02the United States,
05:04New Zealand, Australia
05:06and Rwanda.
05:08Without fail, wherever
05:10WOW gathers, I've met
05:12the most extraordinary and impressive
05:14women who have quite
05:16simply refused to take
05:18no for an answer.
05:22Some of them have a significant
05:24public profile.
05:26Others can't be named because
05:28the work they do will put
05:30their lives or the lives
05:32of whom they support in danger.
05:34All of them
05:36have faced obstacles that could
05:38easily have intimidated them
05:40into a silent resignation
05:42to the status quo.
05:44Women
05:46such as Yelda Hakeem,
05:48who has done so much to
05:50raise awareness for the plight of women
05:52in Afghanistan through
05:54her fearless journalism.
05:56Paris Thompson,
05:58who has advocated so effectively
06:00for the deaf community.
06:02Penny Lancaster,
06:04who volunteers as
06:06a special constable.
06:08And Laura Bates, campaigner,
06:10writer and founder
06:12of Everyday Sexism
06:14and many, many
06:16others.
06:18Of course, any list
06:20of women who won't accept
06:22a negative response
06:24must include the
06:26indomitable Jude Kelly,
06:28who had the
06:30foresight
06:36who had the foresight
06:38to find WOW 15 years
06:40ago.
06:42Since then, the organisation
06:44has gone from strength
06:46to strength, holding
06:48150 events and festivals
06:50in 71 places
06:52across the world.
06:54And just in the last
06:56year, WOW has reached
06:581.2 million people.
07:00Jude's
07:02strength, ingenuity
07:04and passionate determination
07:06are an inspiration to
07:08us all. And woe
07:10betide anyone who tries
07:12to say no to this powerhouse.
07:18As we look forward to the next
07:2015 years, the task
07:22of forging a gender
07:24equal world is
07:26a daunting one.
07:28At the current rate globally,
07:30it will take an estimated
07:32286
07:34years to remove
07:36discriminatory laws,
07:38140 years
07:40for women to hold half
07:42the positions of leadership
07:44in the workplace
07:46and 47 years
07:48to be represented equally
07:50in national parliaments.
07:52But,
07:54by following the footsteps
07:56of these amazing women and girls
07:58who will not take no
08:00for an answer, we
08:02members of the WOW family
08:04fervently hope that
08:06this will be achieved in a much
08:08shorter time.
08:10Seeing you all here today,
08:12I'm filled with confidence
08:14that together,
08:16we can make sure this happens.
08:18So, thank you.
09:52Yes.
09:53Wait, you there?
09:54Oh, it's somebody who looks like you.
09:55Somebody who looks like you.
