00:21was inaugurated on the eve of the Philippine National Historical Commission in the 19th century.
00:26It is the center of the Pan-Asianism doctrine of the diplomat Ponce,
00:31whose goal is to promote liberty, peace, and prosperity in Asia.
00:37Since then, Mariano Ponce was designated by President Emilio Aguinaldo
00:44as the first republic representative to Hong Kong in Japan.
00:49One of the most important things that Ponce did was to get the support of the Japanese government
00:58to make the Philippines free from the Spanish and later on from the Americans.
01:08Secondly, the purchase of weapons that will be useful in the development of programs
01:15to liberate the Philippines from foreign invaders.
01:19In the Pan-Asianism doctrine, Ponce emphasized that Asia is for Asians,
01:25so it is good for Filipinos to embrace this principle.
