00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name's Theo Huston-Betts and today I'm out in Manchester asking people about their holidays.
00:04And that's because it's been reported this week that lots of middle-class Brits are being squeezed out of being able to afford a summer holiday,
00:11along with the struggles that the working class are going through when it comes to booking their own.
00:14We want to know whether people have noticed it being tougher and more expensive to book a holiday and whether they can stretch their finances to do so.
00:21We've got a holiday booked to go to France with our whole family, but we're not rich so we're all chipping in, it's a big group of us having to pool the money together.
00:36If anything, it's probably so much cheaper to go and live for six weeks in Thailand than it would be if I wanted to relocate somewhere in the UK for six weeks.
00:48Well, I think if you're comfortable with doing it a bit rough around the edges and going to hostels and stuff like that, especially in Europe, I think travelling can be cheaper than a lot of what people think.
