00:00Meanwhile, the government has reaffirmed its commitment to implement programs that provide
00:04adequate food assistance to the country's poorest communities.
00:07According to the Palace, around 300,000 households or approximately 1.5 million individuals are
00:14currently receiving 3,000 pesos in monthly food assistance.
00:18The government is also reviewing a report from the social weather stations which indicates
00:23that the percentage of Filipinos experiencing involuntary hunger has risen to 27.2 percent.
00:30Aside from financial aid, the Department of Social Welfare and Development or DSWD has
00:34established the Walang Gutom Kitchen in Pasay City which serves hot meals to low-income
00:40families.
