Ellis Harrison update with George Bennett
Transcript
00:00An update on Ellis Harrison. He's obviously missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, which he suffered in the 2-2 draw against Bromley last month.
00:12So he's been forced to sit out the Golden Shore against Gillingham and wasn't quite ready to make his return in the 1-1 draw against promotion rivals Wimbledon at Bescott on Saturday.
00:25I asked for an update from Matt Sadler in the post-match press conference and it sounds like promising news. He said that he trained on Friday with the first team and that he's in contention.
00:39It remains kind of unclear whether he'll be fit to start. Sadler's obviously experimented with his attacking options of late.
00:48Levi Manchi replaced Harrison in that game against Bromley and scored against his former club in the 2-2 draw.
00:55And Albert Odoma was given a nod in the Golden Shore against Gillingham and Danny Johnson was handed his first league start for Walsall in over 14 months in the draw against Wimbledon on the weekend.
01:10So plenty of options there if Ellis Harrison wasn't deemed fit to start. And even Wheatley, Sadler revealed also in his post-match press conference, missed the game due to illness.
01:25So again, remains kind of unclear whether he will have recovered by the time Walsall travel to Doncaster on Tuesday evening.
01:33And another boost is that Conor Barrett will be back from suspension. Served that two-game suspension after picking up his 10th yellow card in that draw against Bromley.
01:43But decisions, decisions for Mr Matt Sadler. Once again, Nathan Asimwe is deputised at right wing back the past two games and is majorly impressed at a really promising first league start against Gillingham.
01:58And dazzled once again with firstly a relatively strong defensive performance, but also looked at a real danger going forward.
02:07So it'll be interesting to see what Matt Sadler does despite the fact that Conor Barrett is available for selection once again.
