00:00As part of our continued introduction to women,
00:04let's take a look at the story of a mother who is a true symbol of strength, love, and dedication.
00:10Despite being a solo parent, the word Mahina is never out of her mind.
00:16Let's watch this.
00:20Mahina.
00:22This is one of the words that is often used to describe a woman's physical ability.
00:28But this word is not enough to give the meaning of a woman's role.
00:34In recent times, it has become clear that being a woman is not a weakness.
00:40And one of the many proofs of this is the story of a solo parent,
00:44who in the midst of challenges, proved that she can overcome all challenges.
00:50Her three children grew up well, including two with autism spectrum disorder.
00:59Mommy Sheila Chris is known for her happiness and love.
01:04But despite this personality, it was not easy for her to face life with a husband and to be a solo parent.
01:14It's difficult because, first of all, there are finances.
01:19Of course, there are three of them.
01:20And then, the other two have conditions. They need therapy.
01:24So, of course, it's not easy to raise three children, right?
01:31And it's also not easy for you to raise your own children.
01:40You're not complete because you're going through something.
01:44Because you're still young.
01:46It became more difficult for her to know that two of her three children have autism spectrum disorder.
01:52When I found out that I was pregnant, my reaction was,
01:57Okay, what should I do? How can I help my child?
02:00That's what I asked the doctor right away.
02:02What are we going to do?
02:04It's the same with my youngest child.
02:06Especially because they are two.
02:09I need to focus more.
02:12I attend seminars.
02:14Wherever the seminar is, in the hospital, in the convention.
02:20As a mother, Mommy Sheila did everything to be familiar with her child's condition.
02:26To give them a normal and good life.
02:30You really need to surround yourself with people who would help you.
02:36Who would make your life easy.
02:40In the sense that, instead of being shy, they will help you.
02:45They will cheer you up.
02:47You can do it.
02:49Raising two children with autism is not easy.
02:52It takes an empowered mom to make it work.
02:55In her journey as a solo parent, she learned that it doesn't matter how big the problem is,
03:02but how strong her determination and love as a mother is.
03:07My eldest child is now 22 years old.
03:11He is now in college.
03:13He is now riding a motorcycle.
03:16He knows how to drive.
03:18He is very high-functioning.
03:20He is a very responsible and dependable brother.
03:24My dream now is for myself.
03:27Actually, it's not for myself anymore.
03:30It's for my children.
03:32I hope they will have a good life when they grow up.
03:39Even if they don't have a lot of friends.
03:43Even if it's just a few.
03:45As long as it's true.
03:47As long as they really accept it.
03:50If I go back to what I went through, it's okay.
03:53It's repetitive.
03:54As long as it's a resort for the three of us.
03:57In the making of Women's Month,
03:59Mommy Sheila's story is a living proof that women do not give up.
04:06The strength and love that they show
04:09truly illustrates the role of being a woman.
