00:00And if you have a healthy team going into this week and you have enough bench spots,
00:04why not stash a guy like Conor Norby?
00:06Now Norby is going to play and qualify in many infield positions.
00:10And Norby is a bat that had some pretty decent minor league track record with the Baltimore
00:15Orioles.
00:16And we've seen the Orioles have no problem developing offense.
00:19That hasn't been their issue.
00:20Now he got traded to Miami last year and he's going to be an everyday player.
00:23So looking for depth in the infield is not always easy.
00:28So Conor Norby could be a guy who's again coming back from an oblique strain that you
00:32could probably stash and end up having, I would say in the next two weeks or so, make
00:37it back to your lineup.
00:38And he's going to probably hit somewhere in the middle of that order as well.
00:42Miami's been, you know, a little bit more interesting.
00:44You looked at opening day lineup and I got to tell you, it looked like one of the worst
00:47lineups I'd ever seen.
00:49Otto Lopez, an interesting guy to pick up to second baseman there.
00:52He seems to be playing pretty well.
00:54So right now things have not gone too poorly for this Miami lineup to start.
00:58I imagine they will struggle over time, but there's still going to be guys on bad teams
01:03worth having.
01:04Xavier Edwards, Conor Norby.
01:06Those are two names of the Marlins that pop out to me.
01:08And I think Norby is a player that if you stash him now, you know, injuries are going
01:12to happen.
01:13He's a guy that could give you some eligibility in that infield, which is very important as
01:17you're trying to maneuver injuries.
01:19Look how many injuries we've had so far, right?
01:21Jose Ramirez goes down.
01:23A Max Scherzer injury.
01:25Shocking.
01:26Who could have seen that coming already?
01:28So, you know, injuries are going to happen.
01:30It's April.
01:31Depth is important all year round.
01:32So Norby is one of those stashes for me.
01:34Yeah, I like the advice, especially this early, just to try to get, look, if the Marlins are
01:39hot, you play him for a while.
01:40But overall, if you're on any other team, I mean, there's a triumvirate of doom in this
01:45league and it's Miami, Chicago and Colorado, but that's good because we know that and we
01:50know how to wager on that.
01:52We know how to draft that.
01:53We know how to play that way.
01:54But if early on, Miami is outplaying what we think they're going to do, then why not
01:59take advantage?
02:00And you're right.
02:01His pedigree is there.
02:02From the organization, from Baltimore into Miami, and I just, again, overall, I don't
02:05see a lot of offense coming out of Miami, but it's the early part of the season.
02:09Ride the hot hand.
02:10Who do you have next?
02:11Another infielder, second baseman, Tarrio Estrada, who plays now for the Colorado Rockies.
02:16And unfortunately, he's dealing with a hand issue.
02:19So hopefully he is going to come back in a couple of months.
02:22Now, this is a little bit longer down the trough, but second base is rough.
02:25And I just want to point out, if you go back and look at 2022, 2023, it's back to back
02:30years for Estrada of having 14 home runs, you sitting towards the top of that lineup.
02:35So the RBI totals aren't great, but in terms of run score, you thought a guy could score
02:39somewhere in the seventies for sure.
02:41And now you're dropping him in Colorado, a guy who's a career 260 hitter, basically.
02:46And you're dropping him in Colorado as opposed to San Francisco, which is not the best hitter
02:52ballpark or hitter friendly environment.
02:54So I actually really like this move here.
02:56I like this move in the off season.
02:57He was one of the sleepers at second base.
02:58We talked about just a few weeks ago, but unfortunately spring training, he had the
03:02injury.
03:03So it's going to be a little while for him to come back.
03:04I know you have concerns because whenever you have any sort of hand issues, sometimes
03:08that can really zap the power.
03:10But I look at it like this, Matt, you know, the upside is there for a guy like Estrada
03:15in those home scenario games, especially in those daily transaction leagues.
03:18And you can have Estrada playing second base and hitting in Colorado.
03:23The upside there is pretty good.
03:24And considering all the downside that exists at second base, I think you could do worse
03:27than Estrada, especially if it's a deeper league.
03:30But talk to that impact too, that some of these wrist injuries, hand injuries you've
03:34seen in the past where it kind of zaps those guys to the power.
03:37Well, I mean, just think about it.
03:39Even if you're a casual viewer, you know, little to nothing about baseball at all, but
03:45think about the mechanics involved in swinging a bat, a round bat to hit a round ball to
03:50turn your wrists.
03:51I mean, those things.
03:52Do it right now.
03:53Wherever you are, unless you're driving.
03:54Do it right now.
03:55It's hard to do if you have a broken bone in your hand or your wrist is longer than you.
03:58Yeah, if you're driving, don't do it.
03:59Don't do that.
04:00Yeah, please.
04:01Or maybe just with one hand.
