The Eagles best weapon might soon be coming to an end as momentum is reportedly gaining towards a tush push ban. Should it actually be gone? In other news, the Eagles have brought back G Matt Pryor, who was drafted by the team back in 2018. The Eagles also announced some coaching changes as well as the cap hit numbers on some of their newest contracts. Lastly, Howie Roseman might be focusing in on one draft prospect that would fit perfectly in Vic Fangio's defense. Today, RB discusses all of this and more!

00:00The Philadelphia Eagles have officially put fear into the entire NFL and it might come
00:06back to screw them but it's not exactly what you think and honestly it might not even matter.
00:11So we'll talk about that.
00:13Also the Eagles reveal some new coaching staff changes and is Howie Roseman zoning in on
00:18one potential prospect that would be the perfect fit for Vic Fangio's defense.
00:23We'll get into it all.
00:24Welcome into A to Z Philly.
00:26I'm RB.
00:27Do me a favor.
00:28Like this video and subscribe to our channel.
00:31We will start it off with a piece of news that dropped a couple days ago.
00:35Eagles have come to terms with offensive lineman Matt Pryor on a one year deal.
00:40Matt Pryor former draft pick of the Eagles back in twenty eighteen fourth round and he's
00:44been a journeyman.
00:45All right.
00:46He's been around to a lot of different places probably more of a depth piece at this point
00:50a backup but he did start a lot of games last year with the Bears and my favorite thing
00:54about Matt Pryor in general and why I think this is a sneaky signing is this right here.
01:00Look at the total snaps that he has played.
01:03This is on Bleeding Green Nation dot com.
01:05The guy has experience at every offensive line spot outside of center and when you look
01:10at the Eagles situation right now maybe Matt Pryor can be a guy not only to come in and
01:14fill some shoes if you know somebody goes down God forbid but let's just say it right
01:18guard right.
01:19You lose McKay Becton Tyler Steen Kenyon Green fighting for that spot.
01:23Maybe you bring an older experienced vet in and you bring in a guy who can just you
01:26know stimulate that competition and I really like that and I think Matt Pryor you know
01:31will be a nice backup wherever they need him whether it's tackle guard doesn't matter.
01:35This guy's been around and the Eagles also previously signed Kendall Lamb who will also
01:39be in a similar role.
01:41So I think these are good patch signings by Howie Rosen he's patching some holes they
01:46lost Fred Johnson.
01:47Well here is the replacement so very happy to have Matt Pryor back even through all of
01:52his ups and downs here in Philadelphia.
01:55Now Eagles make some coaching staff changes all right some of these we already knew but
02:00they make them official Kevin Petula the OC Parks Frazier the passing game coordinator
02:05and Scott Loffler the quarterbacks coach but we have some other names as well Tyler Yelk
02:10a defensive assistant Greg Austin assistant offensive line coach Montgomery Van Gorder
02:15offensive quality control coach and Cole Peterson assistant to the head coach.
02:19Now I could go down the list and you know bring up where all these guys came from and
02:23what they're doing the fact of the matter is I like that the Eagles are bringing in
02:26more eyes they're bringing in younger guys as well right who will hopefully eventually
02:31mold themselves into some of these spots where some of the greats have been and look I hope
02:36Stout stays here forever I think he should be a Hall of Famer but you bring in a guy
02:40like Greg Austin and you promote him to assistant offensive line coach right maybe he is the
02:45successor right you never know.
02:47So look all these titles all these names we kind of get wrapped up sometimes and like
02:52hey we have this guy doing this and this guy has three different titles what do they do
02:57you know what I mean it's just it's nice to have these guys here in the building and you
03:02know and be able to promote from within so I'm a big advocate of that and I think it's
03:06important and I like what the Eagles are doing.
03:09Speaking of what the Eagles are doing they're constantly dominating the NFL and nobody can
03:14stop it and it's because of their secret sauce it's their secret weapon it's not a
03:18secret anymore but ladies and gentlemen the tush push has taken over the NFL and as we've
03:24talked about many times before the only reason that the Eagles can do it and other teams
03:28can't successfully is because they have a mammoth of an offensive line they have Saquon
03:33in the backfield we don't even mention that and Jalen Hurts can squat up to 600 pounds
03:37right so you have literally the perfect mix the perfect combination now we have thought
03:43this entire time all right you know teams are whining about it and you know they're
03:46gonna try to propose a ban again there's never been any smoke but now Diana Roussini puts
03:51out this conflicting report after a report came out a couple days before saying that
03:55there was you know gonna be no ban whatsoever pretty sure like the Eagles are fine Diana
04:01Roussini puts this out and says the sense I get from around the league is that momentum
04:05around banning the tush push is growing I think they have to have 24 out of 32 owners
04:09ban it or at least vote to ban it so you know that's a lot right and I feel very annoyed
04:16at this first off shout out to Jeff Kerr I agree 1000% he re-quotes this and says wait
04:22until they hear how high the Eagles percentage was on QB sneaks before the tush push like
04:27I said you have all the blocks in place right like the Eagles still have a great quarterback
04:33who's strong an offensive line etc so if you go back and look at the data beforehand they
04:38were already good at the QB sneak the QB sneak is a play that you can easily convert
04:43when you have the right pieces in place and like Warren Sharpe here says people forget
04:47how good QB sneaks are right like think about it logically you're a yard short or very you
04:52know a couple inches short like it's not that hard to convert and what really grinds my
04:57gears is this QB sneak and tush push conversion rates on 3rd or 4th and 1 since 2022 Eagles
05:05are at a really good 90% the league average is 84% but for the team that's whining and
05:11complaining and crying about it the Green Bay Packers look at their percentage 92% now
05:16granted more of that comes on the traditional quarterback sneak but the Packers are also
05:22a team that does the tush push they tried it against the Eagles they just failed because
05:27they don't have the personnel that the Eagles have and oh maybe if you ever thought about
05:32it logically Green Bay the Eagles are so damn good at it maybe they know how to stop
05:36it as well so the Packers have actually been more successful with these short yardage plays
05:43than the Philadelphia Eagles and they're crying and complaining about it even though they
05:47try to do it themselves like Warren Sharpe says teams just need to use QB sneaks as often
05:52as the Eagles do it's in their playbook and Nick Sirianni took offense to it before saying
05:56hey this is something we practice a lot we go through this a lot of practice other teams
06:01probably don't they just throw the guys out there but it's been a very successful play
06:05and I think my number one argument for keeping it is this right here Ari Miroff says the
06:11NFL's internal data shows that the tush push play led to zero injuries banning the play
06:18would make no sense and a lot of talking head said the same thing like look you have to
06:23learn how to stop it if it was a play where guys were going down constantly and it was
06:28just hurting the product of the game I think there would be a very good argument but if
06:31you go back and look at the data and zero people have been injured and that's one of
06:36the main things people are whining about then what's the point they also say it's not a
06:40football play you have all these different formations and you're telling me that an iteration
06:45of a QB sneak isn't a football play get out of here get stronger get tougher get better
06:51players learn how to stop it man he says if it's being banned it's simply because the
06:56Eagles are too good at it exactly and the Eagles are going to keep doing it and guess
07:01what Green Bay and the rest of the NFL it might not matter anyway because if the Philadelphia
07:06Eagles get a tush push ban guess what they're going to do they're going to find another
07:10loophole they're going to find another way to kind of bend whatever rule you put into
07:15place and they're going to keep being successful because that's what the Eagles do they're
07:18a competent coaching staff and they figure it out so that is my rant on the tush push
07:24and I'm getting so tired of these people whining about it like in any sport ever even
07:29you like if you've played a sport before you know when you don't know how to do something
07:33or you're going up against a really good competitor and in the opposition do you just give up
07:37you just say oh I can't do it so we're going to ban you come on man it's ridiculous the
07:42Eagles could be locking in on Malachi Starks ESP here on Twitter says current number one
07:48player on my big board is Malachi Starks the team has strong interest in him and he checks
07:53off the biggest need they have on defense and we kind of talked about this the other
07:57day in our last video but ladies and gentlemen I'm big on Malachi Starks I think he's definitely
08:02in my top three right now if I had to choose I mean I know we're still you know a couple
08:07weeks away but this guy checks every box I mean first off he's a national champion at
08:12Georgia you know how he loves his Bulldogs he has played with Jalen Carter Nolan Smith
08:17Keeley Ringo he could play man coverage zone coverage in the box he is an excellent tackler
08:23he's physical and he just feels like a perfect Vic Fangio piece like right when you name
08:29all that off it's like oh my gosh this guy can really play you know he's explosive I
08:34mean the only thing that he needs to work on is just some technique stuff and that can
08:38easily be coached at the next level and you come into a program like the Philadelphia
08:43Eagles right you have the connection with the guys and the Eagles right now need a safety
08:47now I'm not gonna say that they need to come out here and draft for positional need I still
08:53think you have to go with the philosophy of drafting the best available but if this guy
08:57is for some reason there at the end of the first round I could even see how we trading
09:01up because every mock draft I've seen has him going in the you know mid 20s if he's
09:06there like say realistically at 26 I could see how we trading up I really could because
09:12he just makes so much sense and you know they say yeah how he's never drafted a safety
09:16in the first round well he never drafted a corner and how long right and and the Eagles
09:21hadn't drafted corners early look what they did last year look at how much success it
09:25led to so if this guy's here and they have a good grade on him they bring him in and
09:30they think he's the guy you might have to go get him I think the Eagles could be locking
09:34in on Malachi Starks now maybe they just go the traditional draft in the trenches route
09:38but Starks would be a really good addition now the Philadelphia Eagles have announced
09:45their cap hits for Zach bond 4.3 million this year 7.5 the next year and 11.7 in 2027 and
09:55they can cut them that year if they won't save 2 million in cap space so pretty much
09:59a two-year deal Eagles continue to find ways to work magic with the numbers and ESP says
10:05likely restructure prior to 2027 or release them depending on how it goes so again you
10:10know we always hear the initial number the initial years we get a little bit frantic
10:14but then we kind of dive in deeper and the way they structure these deals are just top
10:19tier man and they do it a lot better than other teams Z's OJ Laurie only has a cap it
10:23of 1.6 million this year overall each of their 10 free agent signings average out to cap
10:28hits of 1.3 that is just amazing work by Howie Roseman that's just amazing work and
10:36he's doing what he needs to this offseason patching up the holes and you know not spending
10:40too much money he says Eagles have around 22 million in cap space left after all of
10:44their moves so we'll see what happens man but I expect the Eagles to add a bunch of
10:49young dynamic playmakers in the draft some of them we will probably see here in year
10:53one they have a big job to do and we'll see how it plays out but appreciate everybody
10:58for tapping in as always be sure to like comment and subscribe and I'll catch you on the next one
