00:39Rankin is a world famous photographer from Glasgow.
00:44Among the celebrities he has photographed is the King, Michael Jackson, Madonna and
00:50David Bowie.
00:52He has also directed music videos, documentaries, a feature film, short films and adverts.
00:59He has exhibited in places such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, London's 180 Studios and
01:07has run a number of charity campaigns such as photographing NHS workers during the pandemic.
01:14The school photo day came as a survey of UK parents found that 88% feel collecting school
01:22photos throughout their child's childhood is important, with more than half keeping
01:29every single one.
01:31Free coursers also look back at school photos to remind them of their child's journey.
01:38Today we're here at Great Ormond Street Hospital to make sure that the children being treated
01:43here don't miss out on childhood fun or milestone moments.
01:48So today we've partnered with world famous photographer Rankin and it's school photo
01:54day, our first ever school photo day at the hospital for children who might otherwise
01:59miss out on this really important milestone and we know just how important school photos
02:05are to children and at Gosh Charity our play team deliver amazing care for the children
02:12here.
02:13They help them prepare for procedures and we enable them to celebrate things like Mother's
02:17Day and Easter but one thing we didn't do was give them an opportunity to have a school
02:23photo so we thought that it was about time that we rectified that and who better to partner
02:28with than Rankin.
