Lucknow Super Giants defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in IPL 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on March 27. Shardul Thakur was the best bowler for Lucknow Super Giants, picking up four wickets (4/34) which included dismissing Abhishek Sharma (6) and Ishan Kishan (0) off consecutive deliveries. Young pacer Prince Yadav also took one wicket, that of Travis Head (47). In response, Lucknow Super Giants chased down the target in 16.1 overs. Nicholas Pooran (70 off 26) and Mitchell Marsh (52 off 31) hit blistering half-centuries as Lucknow Super Giants won the match with five wickets remaining. This was Lucknow Super Giants' first win in IPL 2025 while Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a defeat after a winning start. Shardul Thakur was named Player of the Match for his splendid 4/34.
