00:00Because Kevin Willard has been at the forefront. Will he leave for Villanova's job with the Terps
00:05on the verge of their first Week 16 berth since 2016? What's the latest update you have
00:11in terms of Kevin Willard's job status? Well, this is what I can tell you, Ben. You know,
00:16I reported on Selection Sunday that Maryland had put a term sheet in front of Kevin Willard
00:21that would make him one of the top 10 highest paid coaches in college basketball. I have since
00:26been informed since I did that report that that number is going to be at least in the neighborhood
00:32of $5 million and likely well over $5 million annually. The question is, though, whether or
00:38not Kevin Willard wants to stay at Maryland, which obviously does not have an athletic director right
00:43now, or does he want to return to his roots in the Big East where he spent many years at Seton
00:49Hall, but obviously Villanova is a much, much higher level basketball job than Seton Hall is.
00:55So that right now is the elephant of the room, and it's something that's dominated the headlines
01:00this week in San Francisco. You touched on it. This is the first time since 2016 that Maryland
01:05has played in the Sweet 16, and Maryland unequivocally has enough to win a couple more
01:10games in this NCAA tournament. But this storyline is not going away, and I've never seen in all my
01:17years covering this a team advance this far in the NCAA tournament and have this type of a cloud
01:23over its game.
