00:00As the Trump administration attempted to downplay the contents of a leaked Signal group chat,
00:05the journalist at the center of the storm has released more proof.
00:09Atlantic Magazine editor Jeffrey Goldberg was inadvertently included in the chat amongst
00:14the 18 senior cabinet leaders discussing impending strikes on Houthi militants in Yemen.
00:22Goldberg shared a thread of messages with highly sensitive information, including details
00:27about the target of the attack, launch times and specific weapons to be used.
00:32He claims he chose to publish this new information after the Trump administration attacked his
00:36journalistic integrity, claiming he lied about its contents.
00:40But the mainstream media continues to be focused on a sensationalized story from the failing
00:46Atlantic Magazine that is falling apart by the hour.
00:50We have said all along that no classified material was sent on this messaging thread.
00:56There were no locations, no sources or methods revealed, and there were certainly no war
01:01plans discussed.
01:03The fresh revelations have prompted some senior Trump officials to acknowledge the debacle
01:07was due to human error, including Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and
01:11Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who both participated in the chat.
01:15Obviously someone made a mistake.
01:18Someone made a big mistake and added a journalist.
01:21Nothing against journalists, but you ain't supposed to be on that thing.
01:24But both Rubio and Gabbard continue to insist there was no classified information shared.
01:30That's something military experts and Democrats disagree with, saying the information could
01:35have risked the lives of both American service members and civilians if they'd been attained
01:39by a U.S. adversary.
01:42Democrats are pushing for there to be consequences for the major security breach.
01:46Secretary Hagseth has disclosed military plans as well as classified information.
01:51He needs to resign immediately.
01:53He needs to resign immediately and a full investigation needs to be undertaken with
01:58regard to whether other similar signal chats are occurring in this administration.
02:05National Security Adviser Mike Waltz has taken responsibility for creating the signal group,
02:09but claims he didn't have the journalist's number to have added him to the chat.
02:13U.S. President Donald Trump has not signaled any repercussions, instead continuing to downplay
02:18the situation, labeling it not a big deal.
02:22How do you bring Hagseth into it?
02:23He had nothing to do.
02:24Look, look, it's all a witch hunt.
02:27Here we are talking about some of the greatest business deals ever made.
02:30The greatest companies in the world are moving into the United States and you want to ask
02:34about whether or not signal works.
02:36The White House says the National Security Council and Elon Musk's team are looking
02:39into how the journalist was included in the chat, still refusing to acknowledge the magnitude
02:44of the breach and pushing back against taking any meaningful action in response to this
02:48national security blunder.
