00:00Congratulations on the new song, you guys.
00:01Thank you, yeah.
00:03I'd love to hear, just to start, a little bit
00:04about the inspiration behind it and how it came together.
00:07Franklin and I met in Vegas for the first time.
00:09And I watched him perform at Nellie's Southern Kitchen.
00:13Shouts out.
00:14Shout out to that.
00:16And I remember just being really infatuated with the way
00:19that he performed and just how much energy he had on the stage.
00:23And I knew right off the bat that I would absolutely
00:26love to work with him.
00:28And I guess fast forward, he actually
00:30came out to watch me perform at a showcase in Nashville
00:33and reached out.
00:34And I've had the honors of working with the Jonas
00:37group for a while now.
00:38And we lined our calendars up and had a writing session.
00:42And that's the only time we've ever written.
00:45And we are excited to hopefully do it again soon.
00:50But that's when we wrote IDK.
00:52And yeah, it's been cool.
00:54Yeah, we just walked in and talked for an hour or two
00:58hours about our lives, what we were going through.
01:01And then I brought in some references.
01:03You brought in some references.
01:05And just sort of had the idea to do
01:07sort of a dialogue between in a relationship
01:12as things are confusing.
01:13Like, where are things going to go?
01:15Like, how does this?
01:17Is this good?
01:18Is this bad?
01:19Like, should we keep trying?
01:20Should we not?
01:23Maybe I will.
01:24Maybe I won't.
01:24And from there, it just became what the song is.
01:28And I think it's, I mean, I love it.
01:30I think we especially love performing it live.
01:33It really matches that dialogue experience,
01:36that theatricality that we tried to put into the recorded version
01:40as well.
01:41And something I love about this song, too,
01:42is it tackles on uncertainty in the dating space,
01:45especially for our generation.
01:46And that's been something so interesting
01:48we're all struggling with.
01:49Yeah, girl.
01:50I'm wondering if you guys have had any IDK moments
01:52in your own lives or, like, horror stories
01:54you'd want to share.
01:56Oh, horror stories!
01:57I'm just kidding.
01:59Why are you passing the baton to me?
02:01I'm just kidding.
02:02No, like, when we first started this song,
02:04we just chatted about where we were at in life.
02:09And I think being in our 20s, I can
02:11say that it's definitely a pivotal learning experience
02:14where relationships are hard.
02:16Nowadays, there's so many outlets of meeting people
02:19and online apps or whatever it is.
02:22Dating is just hard.
02:24And especially, I think, for me, traveling so much,
02:29it's just everybody's got their story.
02:31Everybody has that uncertainty.
02:34Whether you are in love, there's still always
02:37that question of, like, is this the one?
02:39Is it not the one?
02:40It's just I feel like it was so connecting to me
02:45in situations, whether I was in that moment at the time
02:48or in it now, whatever it is.
02:50It just feels so relatable.
02:53But hearing that that's also the feedback from other people,
02:57I'm like, well, that's good.
02:59And I'm glad I'm not the only one that has dating issues.
03:02Yeah.
03:03Definitely not alone.
03:04Yeah, no, absolutely.
03:05I think she put it best.
03:06We just found a moment to be able to talk
03:11about what we've been through and tried to craft
03:14a little story out of it.
03:16So it's all in the song.
