00:10Jordan is one of the most water-scarce countries in the world.
00:14Depending on where you live, you may have water once per week, once every two weeks or once per month.
00:19AFD in Jordan participated, amongst others, in the Wadi Al Arab treatment plant project,
00:24which has a capacity of 80,000 cubic meters per day of potable water,
00:29which is sent to Irbid.
00:31From KFW, we support the Jordanian partners in rehabilitating the King Abdullah Canal
00:36so that less water is being lost and can be used for the Jordanian population for drinking water purposes.
00:43We do mostly loans to the government and some grants in addition.
00:49We provide also technical expertise.
00:51We also give concessional loan financings,
00:55which means that the loan is a bit less expensive than a market loan and therefore more attractive.
01:01We propose projects to the European Union.
01:04If they are consistent with the strategies of the Union,
01:08then we can propose the financing to our Jordanian partners who will implement the project.
01:13We also exchange on our challenges, which really helps to become better and to support each other.
