00:00You are Sort Your Life Out record breakers.
00:03What?
00:04You have 6,568 items of clothing.
00:09Did I get a trophy?
00:11We all have way too much stuff
00:13cluttering our homes and our lives.
00:16Oh, my God.
00:17What?
00:18I am king of the clutter, look at me.
00:20But we're on a mission to sort your life out...
00:23Argh!
00:24..by completely stripping jam-packed houses...
00:27Stop leaving boxes at the front door!
00:29..and displaying every single thing in a giant warehouse.
00:33Whoa!
00:34I can't believe it.
00:35Could you let go of half?
00:37Is it really hard for you?
00:38It's just a train set. I just...
00:40I'm absolutely getting the hang of these.
00:42I could cry.
00:43..to bring joy back into your home.
00:45Oh!
00:46Oh!
00:47It's heaven.
00:48That's so cool.
00:52Oh, I'm so happy.
00:54We done it?
01:00MUSIC PLAYS
01:01Hello, West Midlands.
01:07Hello. Hello.
01:08Good morning.
01:09The squad are back in action.
01:12You're only going to have to do the honours.
01:14Oh, my goodness.
01:16And we're ready to tackle another family's clutter.
01:25Top of the morning to you.
01:27Hi!
01:28Have you got the fancy car and I got the van?
01:31I had to go in the van last time.
01:33We all have to sacrifice one journey.
01:35Luxury, yeah?
01:36This is Sarah and John's house.
01:38They live here with their three children.
01:40When they moved in together, they moved in from two separate houses,
01:43so they basically bought two houses and moved them into one.
01:46Oh, gosh.
01:47And they have not been able to have a clear-out since.
01:50Come on, let's see what we're dealing with.
01:52Right, wipe your feet.
01:53This two-storey house contains a family room,
01:57a kitchen and a converted garage.
02:00Upstairs, there are three bedrooms.
02:04Oh, my gosh.
02:06I think this is the table where you just walk in and dump stuff.
02:09Oh, wow, I love these things.
02:12Where would you hula-hoop in this?
02:14Yeah, there's not much space to hula-hoop in here.
02:16Is that bike in the front of the room?
02:18Oh, it's stuck to the floor.
02:20Is that the first time you've been on a bike, Dills?
02:23This is like an exercise bike.
02:25Imagine sweating up a storm on this bike.
02:28We've got a craft station, Stace.
02:30They're crafty people, look at these.
02:32They are, look at all these artworks.
02:34Well, Stacey, I think you've definitely found your kindred spirits here.
02:37This is organised.
02:38I mean, they can't eat their dinner,
02:40but they've got all the pens of the rainbow.
02:42There's a lot of carrier bags in this home,
02:44full of bits and bobs, isn't there?
02:46Oh, I've got a party bag.
02:48Everyone loves a slinky.
02:51Teacher training, level three certificate in British Sign Language.
02:55Sarah and John are both deaf,
02:57and Sarah actually teaches deaf children.
03:00Why is all our paperwork in plastic bags, though?
03:03Everything in this room is absolutely everywhere.
03:06No systems, no rhyme or reason.
03:08It's just everywhere.
03:10And the mess doesn't stop there.
03:13Feel how heavy this is. It's a tent.
03:16They just have a lot of very big, bulky things in the front room.
03:19You can buy it, but you have to find somewhere for it to live.
03:22Yeah. It can't just live in front of your telly.
03:24No.
03:25We've only just walked into this house,
03:27and I feel like I know this family.
03:29Yeah.
03:30Look at all their little crafts and trinkets.
03:32Exactly.
03:33OK, let's split up and search the rest of the house.
03:35Oh.
03:37Oh, wow.
03:39First up, a bedroom in the converted garage.
03:43Got a drum kit. Turf board.
03:46This must be the oldest boy's room.
03:48Do you reckon he plays the ukulele as well?
03:50Can you actually play those drums?
03:53OK, that's enough now.
03:55Do you know the best thing about that was I couldn't hear a word you were saying.
03:59Look at all these instruments.
04:01Zachary's got one of these.
04:03What is it?
04:04It's like some kind of computer.
04:05It's his pride and joy.
04:07Very snazzy.
04:08It's not a horrendously messy room, is it?
04:10What is this, though?
04:12It's bike stuff.
04:13Do you reckon it's mum and dad's?
04:15This is obviously a teenage boy's room, but everyone's dumping their stuff in here.
04:19Would you really want to picture mum and dad above your bed as a teenage boy?
04:23I think that's quite sweet.
04:25Hey, it's a nice-sized kitchen.
04:27Ewan and Rob are exploring next door.
04:30Bright room.
04:31You can just about see the countertop.
04:33This is random.
04:35You know when letters arrive and you just don't want to deal with them?
04:39This has got to the point now where it is chaos.
04:42It feels like so much of the rest of the home has crept into this space
04:45that almost this whole section here is no longer kitchen.
04:49We need to change all of that.
04:51Upstairs, the confusion continues.
04:53Timian?
04:54Haven't we just been in his room?
04:56This can't be his room anymore.
04:58Could this be anyone's room?
05:00Could anyone sleep on this bed?
05:02There's a keyboard in here.
05:04You think that's Timian's?
05:05But why would it be up here?
05:07There's a pool in here!
05:08Of course there is.
05:12Bonkers Monsters, Fantastic Beasts.
05:15Oh, look, this is the little girl that lives here.
05:18She wrote a story and this is in here.
05:20It's been published!
05:21It's been published.
05:22Oh, that is so cute.
05:23Caitlin, wishes can come true because I wish for a monster friend.
05:27Aww.
05:28That's why there's so many books.
05:30If I had a monster friend, it would be this.
05:32Yeah.
05:34Honestly, no matter how much I rummage in this room,
05:37I still don't know what it is, whose it is,
05:39and what has happened in here.
05:41Oh!
05:42It's a busy hallway.
05:44This does feel like just dumping ground.
05:47There's fairy lights up in this hallway.
05:49Where do they start?
05:50Yeah.
05:53Big fish, little fish, microfiber cloth.
05:55Big fish, little fish, microfiber cloth.
05:58But the last of the kids' rooms is nothing to rave about.
06:02Caitlin, Owen.
06:03So?
06:04This must be the two younger kids' room.
06:06So they're obviously sharing this room.
06:08I wonder why.
06:09When there's a perfectly good room in there.
06:11Because they can't get into it.
06:12Look at this toy storage.
06:14I mean, it's so underused.
06:15There's just stuff everywhere.
06:18Is that mum's stuff?
06:19Level one wall deaf awareness communication.
06:22I feel like mum's stuff has been spilling into every room in this house.
06:26Nothing in this house flows.
06:28There's storage, but they're just not using it effectively.
06:30100% feels like they have never, ever, ever
06:33said goodbye to anything in this house.
06:35No.
06:36And it's the same story for Rob and Ewan in the shed.
06:40Oh!
06:42This is a crazy amount of bikes.
06:45Right, I'm going to see you later, Rob.
06:46Ewan, we've got stuff to do.
06:47No, no, no, Ewan.
06:48No, no.
06:49No riding off for you.
06:51Oh, hi, guys.
06:52Hello.
06:53I don't think I can think about the shed right now.
06:55No.
06:56I feel like this house is actually full of the stuff they love.
07:00So all the books, all the crafts.
07:01And absolutely no structure in any single room.
07:04Hi.
07:05Hi.
07:08Hello.
07:09Hello.
07:10Hello, baby.
07:11Hello.
07:12How are you?
07:13It's so lovely to meet you.
07:17We have got Anna, our lovely interpreter here.
07:20I've got an earpiece in my ear,
07:21so someone's telling me everything, translating for me.
07:26How are you all feeling?
07:28Nervous.
07:29Nervous?
07:30Excited?
07:32No?
07:34Oh, cool.
07:35Good.
07:42Are you kidding me?
07:54Two households became one
07:56when John moved in with Sarah and her son, Timian.
08:03Hi.
08:09Soon after they got married, they had two kids together.
08:15The cliff monster decided to live in our house
08:18and likes to have parties here.
08:24The messiest in the house would have to be my mum.
08:26Her art stuff just gets everywhere.
08:29You clear up our things, but you don't clear up your own things.
08:47I think mum is one of the people
08:50that wants to keep lots of stuff because of all the memories.
08:55And mum's not the only one whose hobby is taking over.
09:00Somebody coming.
09:03Bag.
09:06He's got at least, like, 10 or 11 bikes,
09:09and he only needs two or three.
09:13He only needs one.
09:16I'll be cleaning it. It's cluttered.
09:21Double.
09:23OK.
09:27But the clutter is stopping them doing the things they love.
09:33OK, Linoe, dinner's ready.
09:35No, not yet.
09:45You want some drinks? OK.
09:47OK.
10:10We have been walking around your beautiful house
10:13and there's a lot going on in there.
10:17Lots of hobbies.
10:19Who's the crafter?
10:21Yay!
10:26Oh, so is it my fault now?
10:29Are we going now?
10:30Yeah. Let's go. Come on.
10:36Let's get these into here.
10:38Right, let's start packing, kiddos.
10:41We've got just 12 hours to get the whole house packed up
10:44and sent off to the warehouse.
10:48Right.
10:49First up, I'm tackling the dining area with Sarah.
10:52Is this all your school paperwork?
10:54Yes.
10:55My sister is hard of hearing,
10:58so she doesn't sign.
11:00She's always lip-read me.
11:02I know.
11:04Yeah.
11:06Yeah.
11:09Do you have a sign name?
11:13Cheeky!
11:19OK.
11:22I was expecting it, to be honest.
11:27When did it start getting like this?
11:31Oh, really?
11:36And then John moved in?
11:39Oh.
11:41And then you had Caitlyn?
11:44Yeah.
11:45Oh, OK.
11:48You can't blame yourself all the time
11:50because it's everybody's responsibility
11:53and I think if you're a parent,
11:55you're just going to feel guilty no matter what.
12:06Oh.
12:11What do you love about crafting?
12:19That's why I love crafting.
12:20It's almost like an escape to another world.
12:22Yeah.
12:23Take that size box
12:25and then put all your things that are personal to you in there.
12:28We're trying to split up and categorise things as we're packing.
12:31Parry your bag, parry your bag.
12:33We're halfway through the day
12:35and even though the boxes are filling up,
12:37not one room is clear.
12:41All right, guys.
12:42So who makes the most mess in the room?
12:44Him.
12:45That's true.
12:46I think we're going to utilise you underneath there.
12:49You start passing out everything that you can see.
12:52So there's a load of books in here.
12:54Yes!
12:55I start books and I finish like half of them.
12:59Mm-hm.
13:00Then the rest get lost
13:01and then I start new ones and then the same thing happens.
13:07Rob!
13:10We've got some quite heavy boxes here.
13:12Working with you guys, I don't need to go to the gym.
13:15This is because I care about you.
13:17Upstairs, Ewan is helping John pack up his and Sarah's bedroom.
13:22So have you guys actually tried to declutter in the past at all?
13:27HE MUMBLES
13:34Has that caused, like, any conflict between you?
13:50Particularly when we're close to people,
13:52it can be stressful, I think, sometimes.
13:56Ooh, Ewan, you OK?
13:58Just when you think you're making some progress,
14:00another room needs packing.
14:02So this is all the toys, yeah?
14:04There's way more toys.
14:05There's even more toys? Yep.
14:07So we're on kitchen duty.
14:09Yeah? Yeah.
14:11In your room, I saw the drum kit, a ukulele.
14:14Yeah, I love music.
14:15Did you see the keyboard in...?
14:17Yes, in what looks like it should be Caitlin's room, but it isn't.
14:20Definitely no-one's sleeping in there.
14:22Yeah, I'd like that in my room.
14:24Your computer? Yeah.
14:26Mum was saying that you're paying it back with chores?
14:29I borrowed money from my grandparents and my mum,
14:32so I've just been cooking to pay all that off.
14:34That's where my love for cooking came from, really.
14:36No way, so you do all the dinners and stuff? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
14:39I paid it all back, really. Have you?
14:41Yeah. And you're still cooking? Yeah.
14:43Oh!
14:44That's why having such a clean kitchen is really important to me.
14:48God, they've done well with you, haven't they?
14:51If I said to my 13-year-old,
14:55can you start cooking to pay off one of the things,
14:58of many things, that I've bought you over the years,
15:01he'd be like, UGH!
15:03UGH!
15:05UGH! I don't even want to eat!
15:07That's what I would get.
15:09I said to him, how long till you pay the debt off?
15:11He said, oh, I've paid it, I just enjoy the cooking.
15:13I've done something wrong. I've lost.
15:17I've lost in the game that is raising a teenager.
15:20Ooh, Rubik's.
15:22I haven't got time for that.
15:24With only one hour to go...
15:26Sweating.
15:28..there's one last supersized push to clear the home.
15:31My toes are hurting.
15:33That's OK.
15:35Oops!
15:36How are you getting on there?
15:38There's one more shoe that can't fit in.
15:40The contents of this four-bedroom house
15:42have now been crammed into four big moving vans
15:45and the family's home is finally clear.
15:49Bye-bye.
15:51We are going to have a difficult time in the warehouse, I think,
15:55because the things they've got the most of,
15:57the books, the bikes, the crafting,
15:59they're the things that this family love.
16:02So, yeah, trying to convince someone
16:05to let go of the things they love is never easy.
16:08Time to go home. Good night.
16:14Over the next two days,
16:16the family will go through every single item from their home
16:19laid out in a 17,000-square-foot warehouse.
16:23Hi, Dan.
16:25Hi.
16:26Who's the centre of the warehouse today?
16:28Me. Yay!
16:30Hooray!
16:32Hello.
16:33Yay!
16:35And me.
16:37How are you feeling?
16:39Good!
16:40I just want to get everything gone as fast as possible.
16:43Right, it is pouring with rain.
16:45Shall we get in there?
16:47Let's go. Let's go.
16:49I want my hair not to turn into a frizz ball.
16:58Oh!
17:08Welcome to your house.
17:12Oh, those books!
17:14Out of the 520 boxes unpacked and laid out from the Clarks' home,
17:19we discovered 112 board games,
17:244,017 plastic toys
17:27and 433 pieces of wood crafts.
17:31How are you feeling?
17:33I'm calmer now than I was.
17:35I knew I had a lot of stuff, but I didn't realise there was that much.
17:40To really bring a house back, you have to let go of 50%.
17:44So do you feel ready for that challenge?
17:48Yay!
17:50I'm really wanting to get on with it.
17:52Yeah.
17:54Wait, how is it? Are you ready?
17:57Ready. Let's go.
17:59With two big days ahead,
18:01the family now need to decide what to keep
18:04and what to donate, recycle or sell.
18:07Right, to the book section.
18:10First task of the day, tackle that 1,211-strong book collection.
18:15Maybe we could set ourselves a limit.
18:1950 books each.
18:22I'll try.
18:24John, I was going to send you over to the adult section.
18:28You look worried.
18:30No, he won't.
18:34No, he won't.
18:36I think we should give John the chance
18:38to let go of the things that he thinks, you know,
18:41we haven't seen in a long time.
18:43Timian, Caitlin and Owen, children's books.
18:46Let's go. OK. Yay!
18:48OK.
18:50Sarah, you started already.
18:52Yes!
18:54There's 524 magazines here.
18:57524 magazines.
19:00Is there a world where you would say goodbye to all of them?
19:09OK, get your 50 and then tell me how you're feeling.
19:13How are you doing, Owen? I have 36.
19:15And do you think you can manage with just 50?
19:21I'm not sure.
19:23OK? I know.
19:25Mummy and Daddy are going to need our help.
19:28My mum holds everything dear to her heart
19:30and I think she's going to be the hardest
19:33to overcome that fear of letting everything go.
19:37Are you feeling nervous?
19:41You don't want John to throw it away?
19:45Yep.
19:48OK.
19:59OK.
20:24Can I have a quick look in there?
20:26Can I have a quick look in there?
20:28Yes, absolutely.
20:32You can read Portuguese?
20:34Yeah. How?
20:38And so you learn...
20:40And do you often read this book?
20:45Since? When was that?
20:52It's sentimental.
20:56Yes.
20:58You don't realise how amazing you're doing right now.
21:00Sarah got emotional really quickly when we went to books
21:04and I wasn't surprised.
21:07I think Sarah's emotional about this process in general
21:10so we're just going to have to slowly ease ourselves into it
21:13and see how we go.
21:15I'm moving on to the next section.
21:17We're going to feel the wheelbarrows.
21:19OK, here, Caitlin, chuck them in.
21:22I genuinely thought that would be one of the hardest sections,
21:25for Sarah and even for Caitlin,
21:27but they both worked really, really hard.
21:30Let's get these down there. Let's go, go, go.
21:33Ready?
21:37Amazing!
21:39Well done, everyone. Really good work.
21:41Come on.
21:43I should have bought a shower cap.
21:45Back at the house.
21:47What on earth are you doing?
21:49I'm designing and diagramming on the floor.
21:52It looks more like you're doing yoga.
21:55Rob has ambitious plans to turn the family room
21:57into a multifunctional haven.
22:00I've got the laser set up here
22:02because what I'd really like to do is split the room.
22:04So what are you going to do? Use it like a wood divide?
22:07The framework itself will be made out of wood,
22:09but I'm looking to make it out of perspex.
22:12So if one of them's, say, having their dinner here
22:15or doing some crafts on the sofa,
22:17and, say, the kids are through there,
22:19they'll have that direct line of sight
22:21to be able to sign to each other still.
22:24But that's just the start of Rob's plans,
22:26as attention turns to crafting.
22:28How much storage have we actually got in this?
22:30Not a lot for the amount of arts and crafts they had.
22:33So we've got here the unit itself, yeah?
22:36Now think of an additional box on the outside,
22:39so once you've opened it out, it doubles in its size.
22:42That's very clever.
22:44So you're going to build something around this
22:46that makes this even bigger?
22:48I'm actually going to build it onto the unit.
22:50It's going to be solid,
22:51and so it's going to be able to take the weight.
22:53I'm excited for this.
22:54Yeah, I am. I think it's going to be great.
22:56Craft larder. Craft larder!
23:02Ha-ha!
23:11I've sent John and Sarah into the homeware section,
23:14as I reckon I'll stand a better chance
23:16producing the toys with just the kids.
23:18Let's start in teddies, yeah?
23:20Are there any that you look at and you go,
23:22right, I'm over it, I don't play with that one?
23:24Yes.
23:25Go, go, go, go. Show me.
23:27They're the same.
23:29Well, we don't need two, do we? No.
23:31I love having soft toys,
23:33but when he plays he gets everything out
23:37and he won't put it back.
23:39Boring to put it back.
23:41Go on then, chuck it right in there.
23:43That's what I like to see, yes.
23:49Go on.
23:52Guess what soft toy I still haven't named?
23:55Go on.
23:57Oh, what shall we call him?
23:59It's her.
24:00Oh, sorry.
24:03It's getting really hard at this point.
24:05That's OK, you can do it.
24:07Imagine it like this.
24:09You get home and your room is clear
24:11and you can see all of your toys
24:13and you can write as many stories as you want
24:15because you've got a desk space.
24:17How often do you think you'll get your puppets out
24:19and play puppets?
24:20Once.
24:21I think she can go.
24:22Good girl, that's amazing.
24:24Well done, Caitlin.
24:25Help me.
24:26Let's go.
24:30Oh, Caitlin, your little bracelet's here.
24:32Do you want this?
24:33Let me come over.
24:34What does CODA stand for?
24:36Child of Deaf Adult.
24:38So what are these ones?
24:40CODA Love from CODA Count.
24:42What's that?
24:44It's a song in the summer where children
24:46that have deaf parents go.
24:48What's your favourite part about it?
24:50I like one night where we all sit by a campfire
24:53and then we sing songs about CODAs.
24:57And how does it go?
24:58CODAs are what?
24:59Red hot.
25:01CODAs are what?
25:02Red hot.
25:04You're welcome.
25:05Shall we just keep one, that one?
25:07Maybe three for one each.
25:09That's a good idea.
25:12Work in the homeware section
25:14seems to have come to an abrupt halt.
25:18Is she in the piles?
25:22She is in the piles.
25:25I didn't know that.
25:26How can you put her in here?
25:28In the long run, it's better for us
25:30to let her micromanage every pile.
25:34For Sarah, I think it's a lot about control
25:36and just having a chance to have a look.
25:42Right, big high five.
25:43This is epic.
25:44I'm so proud of you.
25:46You've done incredible.
25:48Look at all this space we're going to get back in the house.
25:52Ewan and Dilly are upstairs
25:54talking through plans for the bedrooms.
25:56Right.
25:57So this had the bunk beds in, didn't it?
25:59I'm so confused by these rooms.
26:01I feel like they're...
26:02Like, whose room's whose?
26:04Well, Caitlin and Owen were sharing in here
26:06on the bunk bed,
26:07but actually next door was Caitlin's room,
26:10but Caitlin couldn't use that room
26:11because all of Mum's stuff was in it.
26:13Sarah had got all her craft bags in there everywhere.
26:15Everything was in that room.
26:16Yeah, and Caitlin actually said to me
26:17that her and Owen are up for having their own room each,
26:19but potentially swapping as well.
26:21This one's a little bit bigger.
26:22And she's very creative.
26:24Obviously, she loves to write, she loves to read,
26:26and she loves to do arts and crafts,
26:28so it makes sense, give her the biggest room.
26:30Yeah.
26:32While Rob frames up the new room divider...
26:35And there you have it.
26:38Our room divider, minus the perspex, of course.
26:42...Owen has found time for a snack break.
26:45The reason I'm eating these crisps
26:47is because I'm going to use this crisp tube
26:50as a way to store my paint roller
26:53so I don't have to worry about washing it out overnight.
26:56What you do is drill a hole in the top
26:59and then just thread that through,
27:02place the roller over like this.
27:05When it comes to storing your roller away,
27:08you can just slide this into the tube like that,
27:12slide the lid over the top,
27:14and it will leave the roller inside the tube,
27:17nice and airtight.
27:19And then, yeah, you can go on
27:21and paint other walls with this again.
27:26It feels like a family bike ride.
27:29Gosh, I haven't ridden a bike in so long.
27:32You guys are fast!
27:34With only one hour to go,
27:36Sarah's picking up the pace in board games
27:38while John and I go down memory lane.
27:49When I was speaking to Timian,
27:52he remembers your wedding,
27:55and he was so little.
27:57Wow.
27:59When Caitlyn came around, what was that like?
28:05It was like a dream.
28:07It was like a dream come true.
28:10It was like a dream come true.
28:28It was like a dream come true.
28:31It was like a dream come true.
28:36That's incredible.
28:49Your memories mean so much to you.
28:51You're such a close family,
28:53and you can tell that as soon as you walk in the door,
28:55which was so lovely, so I want to keep that.
28:57Let go of the clutter.
28:59Keep the memories.
29:05We have got half an hour left.
29:07That's it. Then we have to be out of here.
29:09The lights are flashing.
29:11So let's go, go, go.
29:13There's a lot of cards here.
29:15Go.
29:19Donate.
29:21Go, go, go.
29:23Five minutes, guys.
29:29Okay, budget.
29:31Go.
29:35You should be so proud.
29:37Banking.
29:39Well done, family.
29:41Smashed it.
29:43I feel like it went really well.
29:45Does that look good?
29:47Is that a good day one?
29:49Do you think I've got warehouse blindness?
29:51I don't know anymore.
30:00Good morning.
30:02Dilly.
30:04How are we?
30:06It's the final day in the warehouse.
30:08So today is all about teamwork,
30:10because there's still a lot.
30:12So I thought let's just rip the band-aid off,
30:15and let's start with arts and crafts.
30:17No.
30:19No?
30:21Okay, we'll work up to arts and crafts,
30:23but it is a section we have to go through,
30:25because it is one of the biggest...
30:27Let's go.
30:29Let's hope John and Timian are ready to blitz
30:31their seven tables of tech equipment.
30:33Welcome to all your technology.
30:36All of these DVDs, can they all just go?
30:39No.
30:41Except friends.
30:43Let me pass you these.
30:45These ones.
30:47Tell me why you like friends so much.
30:58Two times.
31:16So that was your great distraction from that.
31:18And are you completely recovered now?
31:22Right, let's get through these DVDs.
31:24A lot of care homes and nurseries take DVDs,
31:27so these are a great idea to pass on.
31:33Are you sure?
31:39Woo! So this is going.
31:41Well done. Pop it in the box.
31:43I was really surprised with how well they did with DVDs,
31:46the fact that all of them went.
31:48So they can definitely come round to my way of thinking.
31:52You've definitely reduced it by 50%.
31:54We've got a barrow full, we've got all these boxes that are going,
31:57so let's get it to the pile.
32:01Well done!
32:03Yay!
32:05The first section is done and the family are making progress again.
32:09Which is good news, as we still have to tackle
32:12the massive craft section.
32:14Right, so you take those.
32:16Guess your sign name.
32:18My sign name?
32:20What Stacey's been calling you.
32:22What's Stacey been calling me?
32:24Dilly. Dilly?
32:26It means strict in sign language.
32:28Strict? Is that what she said?
32:30Dilly. Dilly.
32:32Can't believe that.
32:34Over at the house, Rob's craft cupboard is taking shape.
32:38So the great thing about this
32:41is what will look like the doors on the front,
32:44but they're going to double as storage.
32:47How, I hear you ask. Let me show you.
32:51That will go there.
32:55And this one will slot in here.
32:58And then this section will pivot around and open up here.
33:03And this section will spin around, like so.
33:07It is storage galore.
33:10Rob! Help.
33:12Rob!
33:14Help, quick. Pass me that roller.
33:16You need to put paste on this.
33:18No, no, I haven't asked you to come in mansplaining.
33:20I just need the roller. I'm absolutely sweaty.
33:23Well, I'll leave you to man regret once you've done that.
33:26Right. Can you do that side while I start lining this up?
33:29Stop laughing. It's not funny, Rob.
33:31I was on a roll, literally.
33:34And then, stop it!
33:39I know you are dreading this.
33:41I'll give it my best shot.
33:43We are already halfway through the day
33:46and it's now or never if Sarah is to tackle
33:48her humongous arts and crafts collection.
33:51They're like 30 packs of unopened pens and pencils.
33:56It's because you're not being able to find them, so you buy more.
34:03We don't need six of the same thing.
34:11We can get rid of them.
34:13They can be donated.
34:17I don't know what I'm doing.
34:19What?
34:21I think that would be nice.
34:23We can put everything down in this ankle.
34:25OK, then.
34:29I think what I need to do is really chat to Sarah
34:31and find out why she's got in this situation
34:33and why she has so many arts and crafts.
34:36Because I think until we get to the root of the problem,
34:38you can't change anything.
34:40It's just going to go back to how it was.
34:43Do you think these are lots of unfinished projects?
34:54Yeah.
34:55When did you start this bag?
34:58You started this 15 years ago.
35:00Does that not make you feel a bit...
35:13Yeah.
35:22So it calms you.
35:24All of these projects have been started because of a need to relax.
35:27So it's a therapy.
35:29But, you know, in the environment it was in before,
35:32that wasn't relaxing necessarily, was it?
35:43Do you think that's something that you've really lacked doing a lot of
35:46recently because of the way the house has been?
35:49Being able to sit down with your kids, able to sit and knit.
35:57I'm always so close.
35:59Let's get sorting, people.
36:01OK.
36:02I'm guilty, thank you.
36:04I'm guilty.
36:06I'm guilty.
36:08I'm guilty.
36:10I'm guilty, thank you.
36:12And I feel like...
36:24All right?
36:26It's a lot, isn't it?
36:27It's a lot.
36:28It's a lot, it's a lot.
36:30It's very hard.
36:34I don't need to feel guilty that I'm going to food and planning
36:38and I've done that thing and I do a lot with them.
36:41Yeah.
36:43Yeah, of course.
36:44As mothers, as parents, we always feel that way, don't we?
36:47You've got three amazing children.
36:50They're so lovely and they're really good kids.
36:52You're doing a great job.
36:54Doing a great job.
36:57She was feeling bad about how it's impacted her family.
37:02She started filling up those wheelbarrows
37:04because I think she realises that there is no going back
37:07and this is your last chance to make a difference.
37:16With a fresh determination,
37:18Sarah rolls up her sleeves and finally starts to let go.
37:27Well done!
37:28You've done your workshop basket.
37:30This is very good.
37:33Get rid of it all.
37:35And the whole family steps in to help.
37:40I think she's staying back there.
37:43Yeah.
37:44Because...
37:46I think we're good.
37:48This is looking amazing.
37:55There's only one hour to go
37:57and we haven't yet dealt with the family's 11-strong bike collection.
38:02Sarah has done very well today in arts and crafts.
38:05So I feel like now, John, this is Sarah's payback.
38:09This bike.
38:11That's Sarah's.
38:13I wouldn't sell that one anyway.
38:15So that wouldn't go in.
38:17What about this one?
38:18This is the one you use in the living room.
38:20Yes.
38:22And what do we think about this bike?
38:24It's taking up space.
38:26I can't...
38:28I can't complain.
38:30I can't complain.
38:32There are a few numbers.
38:34It's not been owned yet.
38:40That one.
38:42That's mine.
38:44But I want that gone.
38:46We've only got two out.
38:48The one with the photo.
38:50The one you never ride.
38:52Is that true, John?
38:54Friends a long time ago.
38:56Look.
38:58It's a leopard print.
39:00Right, John.
39:02OK.
39:04OK.
39:06It's a lady.
39:08I think Dad deserves a hug, doesn't he?
39:12With the second warehouse day nearly over,
39:14this is our final half an hour.
39:20It's time for one last push.
39:22Grab it.
39:24Donate.
39:26Yeah.
39:28It's a very good captain's hat.
39:30Was it a ten?
39:32This isn't what I thought I'd be lifting today.
39:34Stop.
39:36Well done.
39:38Oh, my goodness.
39:40After two exhausting days in the warehouse,
39:42the family have managed
39:44to cut their belongings
39:46by 50%.
39:48That was a really tough gig.
39:50I feel like they really worked hard.
39:52I feel like I really pushed them to their limits.
39:54And I think they've done an incredible job.
40:00With half of the family's possessions now gone...
40:02Oh, my gosh.
40:04Wow.
40:06Did you do anything in the warehouse?
40:08Oh, don't you start.
40:10..it's on us to deliver the home they've always wanted.
40:12We have come back with more
40:14than what we anticipated,
40:16especially in the craft department.
40:18We're going to have to do that together, aren't we?
40:20Oh, we'll do it with you.
40:22See the divider is there?
40:24That is insane.
40:26It looks so good.
40:28It wasn't the easiest thing to put together.
40:30Is it finished? Is it completely finished?
40:32Yeah, it's done.
40:34Oh, my gosh. Yes.
40:36OK, Rob, you get on with the craft cabinet.
40:38Ewan?
40:40I have got so much cleaning to do today.
40:42OK, where are you starting?
40:44And I've got big plans for the bike shed.
40:46MUSIC
40:48But first,
40:50Ewan has a trick up his sleeve
40:52to address the dated-looking kitchen.
40:54I'm using some tile stickers
40:56to completely transform the kitchen.
40:58You can actually order tile stickers
41:00that are the perfect size for your tiles.
41:02But you could just get a sheet of vinyl
41:04and cut it to size yourself
41:06if you've got the time.
41:08Simply peel, line up
41:10and stick to the existing tiles
41:12using a credit card
41:14to smooth out the bumps.
41:16And then you can go on with your hairdryer
41:18just to make sure that these corners
41:20are really well adhered.
41:24Loving this. Look at that.
41:26New tile stickers,
41:28brand-new kitchen.
41:32Meanwhile, Rob's in the garden
41:34assembling a new shed
41:36to store the family bikes.
41:38Inside their existing shed
41:40was ten bikes.
41:42Taking up all the room,
41:44making it really hard to access.
41:46So by building this,
41:48we're creating additional space
41:50and storage to clear some room in the shed.
41:54We are smashing through the house.
41:56Oh, go on.
41:58Look at that.
42:00That has come off a tree.
42:02But Rob's not the only one
42:04bringing some DIY dazzle.
42:08The edge of this worktop
42:10has all broken away.
42:12So I'm using a heat gun
42:14and then I'm prising away
42:16the pieces of edging.
42:18And I've got, just from a hardware store,
42:20some generic black edging
42:22that I'm going to replace it with
42:24so it'll look brand new.
42:28Sand off the residual glue
42:30and you're ready to start sticking.
42:32Scalpel.
42:34We're going in.
42:40I've done a great job if I don't say so myself.
42:44I might become an edging lady.
42:46We all have those long coats,
42:48don't we, that we want to try and fit in our wardrobe
42:50but they just don't fit.
42:52And there's nowhere else for them to go.
42:54So I have a lovely little tip for you.
42:56Place it face down on the bed,
42:58fold in the arms
43:00and then take it up
43:02and then we're going to use the zip
43:04to hook over our hanger.
43:06And then we have
43:08this lovely, beautiful
43:10little
43:12coat parcel.
43:16The kids did so well
43:18in the warehouse letting go of their toys.
43:20I kept a couple aside because I thought
43:22I could use them to make a really cool
43:24toy lamp. But I'm just trying
43:26to work out what my animals
43:28are doing.
43:30Maybe they're climbing up the light, do you know what I mean?
43:32Or does that look like they're
43:34just pole dancing?
43:38It's fine.
43:40I'm overthinking it.
43:42Let's just start with a rhino.
43:44That's your home now.
43:52Someone's got the ump.
43:54Right,
43:56I need a cat.
43:58While I wrestle with the animal kingdom,
44:00Ewan is
44:02kicking the new bike shed up a gear
44:04because this one comes with a living roof kit.
44:06So what I've been doing is
44:08adding this rubber on the top
44:10to make it waterproof.
44:12Oh, this is so relaxing.
44:14We should take these to every single house.
44:16What are you doing? I brought Stacey along.
44:18That's just what I wanted.
44:20I wanted a Stacey in my life right now.
44:22Do you need me?
44:24See all these bags of aggregate?
44:26New word I learnt today. It's like a special soil
44:28that's got drainage, isn't it?
44:30To the aggregate!
44:32Caitlin is an avid book reader.
44:34I know that she even likes to write her own stories
44:36but her issue was that she could
44:38never find her favourite books.
44:40So what I decided is let's get her a little book caddy
44:42right on her top bunk
44:44so when she does want to read she can put her favourite books
44:46in here and of course I've had to
44:48pop this book in which has her own
44:50story in it.
44:52What a clever little girl.
44:56You're like a machine.
44:58No, this is a machine.
45:00The living roof is taking shape
45:02but before the plants can be laid
45:04it's time to slap on their aggregate.
45:06So we'll be able to get loads of bikes
45:08in this so that in the main shed
45:10we can just have John's exercise bike
45:12so he's not sweating it out in the living room.
45:14Oh, perfect. Right, this is the awkward bit.
45:16You're going to have to pick me up
45:18so I can get to the back.
45:20I've already done my backing today.
45:22Those boxes weighed a ton.
45:24Do you know what, Ewan? I'm up here
45:26swimming through the mud to try and help you
45:28with this living roof.
45:30This is not easy for me either.
45:32Don't shout because if you break wind
45:34it's going to be straight in my face.
45:38Half the day has already passed
45:40and downstairs has fallen behind.
45:42It's mental in here.
45:44Have you been upstairs?
45:46I think upstairs is good.
45:48I'm putting this down.
45:50Upstairs isn't the worst case scenario
45:52but down here is scaring me.
45:54I'm here.
45:56There's so much furniture in here
45:58that doesn't belong in here.
46:00Ewan, if you start in the bedrooms upstairs,
46:02Rob, get this furniture out of here
46:04and then at least Dilly can make a start in this kitchen.
46:06What?
46:08Actually, I have made a start in this kitchen.
46:10Have you looked in these cupboards?
46:12I wasn't having a go.
46:14I've been here since 7am this morning.
46:16Right, I'm getting out of here.
46:18I'm going. You're doing a great job.
46:20Dilly, some space, all right?
46:24Daze, where do you want all these pebbles?
46:26No time for pebbles
46:28because it's my turn to get crafty
46:30with the upcycled cupboard.
46:32This whole room is still filled
46:34with boxes of crafts
46:36so we are going to have to make use of every inch
46:38of this cupboard.
46:40Tension rods are a really easy way of making use of that space.
46:42If you don't have
46:44tension rods, you can use
46:46shower curtain poles,
46:48shower curtain clips. They do the same thing.
46:50It's just that these are small enough to fit inside these cupboards.
46:52Rob's next task
46:54is to upgrade Timian's desk
46:56to house his keyboard.
46:58The great thing about this storage compartment
47:00is that when he's sitting down
47:02and doing his studying and doing his work,
47:04he can slide the keyboard out of the way
47:06and it doesn't obstruct him.
47:12Hey, look at that.
47:16I couldn't leave the house without
47:18raiding Sammy from Sarah's Craft Cupboard, could I?
47:20So I'm drawing some bikes
47:22and I've drawn the wheels around
47:24some of their buttons that I stole from the craft cupboard
47:26so I'm going to stick them
47:28in place of the wheels and hopefully
47:30they'll just be a cute little craft.
47:34There's just 30 minutes to go
47:36and it all comes down to the
47:38family room.
47:40Right, come on gang, we've got to get out of here.
47:42This is the last room.
47:44Let's get this floor up.
47:46Oh my god, the floor!
47:48How are we going to get this?
47:50Three, two, one.
47:52Right, me and you, Dil.
47:54That's it, that's it.
47:56Right, let's get the rest of this up.
47:58Go, go, go.
48:02Right.
48:04Get this off my nice unit.
48:06No, no, no, it can't go there.
48:08No? No, because then they won't see each other.
48:10Yeah, you can't see through now.
48:12Done? Is that it?
48:14Yes!
48:16Happy days, people, happy days!
48:18Yes!
48:20Well done.
48:24Last week, the Clark family
48:26had hit breaking point
48:28with the clutter wreaking havoc
48:30on their house.
48:32Hi!
48:34Now they've let go of half their possessions
48:36Welcome home!
48:38will two homes
48:40finally become one?
48:42How are you feeling?
48:44Done.
48:46Ready?
48:48Let's go!
48:54Welcome
48:56to your living room!
48:58Are you okay?
49:00Yeah.
49:06Seven days ago,
49:08the family room couldn't provide a place
49:10for precious family time.
49:12Now it's been restored
49:14into the heart of the home.
49:16Look at this card.
49:18We know how important it is
49:20that you can see everybody in the family
49:22and that you can all communicate
49:24but we still wanted to make sure
49:26this was the dining room
49:28and that was the living room.
49:30So, Rob built this screen divider
49:32and he made sure that the panels
49:34are big enough that you can sign through
49:36and communicate.
49:38How do you sign this?
49:40Wow!
49:42But there's a hidden gem
49:44hiding in plain sight.
49:46Do you recognise this?
49:48This is your cupboard.
49:50I have a cupboard for you.
49:52Do you want to see?
49:54Yes!
49:58Wow!
50:00Amazing!
50:06Watch this.
50:08Wow!
50:12I know!
50:14Now you can actually have somewhere
50:16to do all of your arts and crafts
50:18because I feel like you had
50:20the most incredible collection
50:22but never actually got the chance
50:24or space to sit somewhere
50:26and do the thing that you love.
50:28Perfect!
50:30With the kids getting to know the cupboards,
50:32I can take John outside
50:34for his surprise.
50:36Notice anything new?
50:40The family have a new shed to store their bikes.
50:44And this is a living roof.
50:46Something that you can have in the garden
50:48that isn't an eyesore.
50:52Yes!
50:54Shall we have a look in the old shed?
50:56Not too long ago, the original shed
50:58was bursting with bikes.
51:00Well now...
51:02Oh, wow!
51:06We can give John
51:08the man cave he deserves
51:10with space for his pride and joy.
51:16When Dilly told me
51:18that you let go
51:20of some of your bikes,
51:22I didn't think you'd let go of any.
51:26Shall we see some more?
51:28Yay! Let's go!
51:30Welcome!
51:32Come in.
51:34Welcome to the kitchen!
51:40Before,
51:42the kitchen was drowning in paperwork.
51:46Now, all surfaces
51:48have been cleared and the refreshed kitchen
51:50is ready for Timian's next meal.
51:54Look at the picture of the bench.
51:58I made that!
52:00I crafted this one!
52:02Just a little something
52:04from me to you.
52:06Dilly has been sorting out
52:08all the cupboards.
52:12She's tried to make it so that
52:14everything's where you need it.
52:16This is exactly what I thought.
52:18Don't walk in,
52:20don't have to think about anything.
52:22Just go in, pick, that, that, that.
52:24Ooh, perfect.
52:26But the fun doesn't stop there for Timian.
52:28Welcome...
52:30to the new, more mature bedroom.
52:32Wow.
52:36Timian's bedroom was in desperate need
52:38of a refresh.
52:40Now the space has been transformed
52:42with a multifunctional desk,
52:44modern design and frosted windows.
52:46I don't know what to say.
52:48Still kept a picture
52:50of mum and dad, but you're in it.
52:52This one, and it's a little bit smaller
52:54so it doesn't make up the whole wall.
52:56Have a walk around.
52:58Oh, what?
53:00Rub, feel, a special
53:02computer shelf for your computer.
53:04We know how hard you worked to buy that
53:06for yourself. You said to me,
53:08there's a keyboard upstairs and I would
53:10really like to bring it down to my room.
53:12So,
53:14we built in a little
53:16hidden keyboard shelf.
53:18What? So when you want to play
53:20and you can crawl,
53:22you keyboard out
53:24and play. That's so cool.
53:26I have no words.
53:28Thank you so much.
53:30I feel like when we first came in here,
53:32everybody's stuff was in here.
53:34How do you feel seeing your room,
53:36the kitchen, the living room,
53:38all of those spaces clear?
53:40The thing that stole family time was
53:42all of us having separate places.
53:44We can't chat, we can't have talks,
53:46we can't talk about our days,
53:48but now that we're all together,
53:50it's going to be amazing.
53:52Yes, thank you so much.
53:54Upstairs,
53:56the two youngest siblings had to share
53:58one room due to the lack of space.
54:02Now Caitlin can claim this room
54:04for her very own.
54:06I love this.
54:08Do you love the ceiling?
54:10And this too.
54:12So Dilly put your favourite books in here
54:14and your story
54:16that was published is in here as well
54:18so that when you're reading at bedtime,
54:20they're right next to you.
54:22Now I know Mummy's got
54:24her craft cupboard downstairs.
54:26This is Caitlin's craft cupboard.
54:28And then if you pull this one,
54:32you've got your own
54:34writing disc.
54:36I thought my room was going to be good,
54:38but this is even better than what I thought.
54:40Yay, good!
54:42The clutter monster is not allowed to come back.
54:44He doesn't live here, he doesn't belong here.
54:46I'll go and get Mummy and Daddy
54:48and then you can show them.
54:50But en route,
54:54the hallway was a sea of
54:56bags and books.
54:58Now it's cleared
55:00with a space-saving bookcase
55:02taking centre stage.
55:04My bookshelf.
55:06I've finally got a bookcase.
55:10Now I can see all my books there.
55:12Ah,
55:14wow!
55:16Wow, that's amazing.
55:18That's amazing that
55:20Owen put that in.
55:22Wow.
55:24My bag.
55:28And how could we forget little Owen?
55:32This is the best room
55:34ever!
55:36Previously, the spare room was
55:38a dumping ground for the family's
55:40clutter.
55:42Now we've given it
55:44a new lease of life as Owen's
55:46brand new bedroom.
55:48We wanted to make it like an adventure theme
55:50because I know how much you love being outdoors.
55:52Thank you! You're welcome!
55:54I also made you this lamp.
55:56So these are some of your old toys and I just
55:58painted them yellow and then
56:00stuck them up and made a little lamp.
56:02This is the best lamp.
56:06Whoa!
56:08Sorry guys!
56:12Look, these used to be
56:14my toys.
56:16I honestly mean it when I say
56:18you were so brilliant in the warehouse and
56:20throughout this whole process you should be really
56:22proud of yourselves. Thanks for being so nice
56:24to us and so kind to us and welcoming
56:26us into your family.
56:28Oh my god, I'm not going to want to go home guys!
56:30Aww.
56:34And there's one last surprise.
56:38Hi!
56:40Hi!
56:42What did you think?
56:44I love it! Do you love it?
56:46Aww, I'm so happy!
56:48Hi Owen!
56:50Hi!
56:52You gave me a real push and I really
56:54banded up really hard.
56:56I'm glad now.
56:58I can sing everything I want to do
57:00and then just open it up and take it out and do it.
57:02I'm so glad.
57:04We're so happy for you.
57:06We come into people's home and try and teach
57:08families, you know, how to get organised,
57:10how to make their house work for them.
57:14But this week we
57:16have been taught so many incredible things.
57:18We have learnt so much and it's just been
57:20an absolute joy.
57:22I'm going to bring
57:24all the interpreters in that made
57:26this possible.
57:28Come on you lot!
57:30Thank you, thank you so much.
57:32I know that they're going to
57:34be able to communicate as a family
57:36better. I know they're going to be able to sit and eat
57:38meals with each other and talk to each other
57:40and chat through their day, which
57:42was being stolen from them by the
57:44clutter that was in that house.
57:46So it just feels so great to be
57:48able to give that back.
57:50That was the best!
57:52Aww!
58:06We can actually have
58:08family time together.
58:10We can all sit at the table and chat.
58:12It's really, really nice.
58:24The best book to get
58:26is...
58:28Kerber's
58:30Meaning.
58:32It's very beautiful.
58:34Every time I
58:36read it I'm like, wow!
58:40I definitely read and write a lot
58:42more now and there's more
58:44space to do stuff
58:46out of this world.
