00:00Thank you, Chairman Aguilar.
00:04Secretary of Defense Pete Hexeth should resign.
00:07He recklessly texted operational details of military strikes, including time, place, location,
00:14and sequencing of those strikes to a journalist.
00:18Had that information gotten to the Houthis, American pilots could have been shot down,
00:23Navy sailors could have been targeted.
00:25His reckless actions endangered the lives of American troops, endangered our national
00:30security, and makes it so that our allies don't want to share sensitive classified
00:35information with us anymore.
00:38In addition, CIGNO is not approved for government use, especially for this kind of use.
00:45Before entering politics, I had a secret security clearance, I served in the U.S. military,
00:51and when you go to a secure facility, the first thing they make you do is they make
00:55you put your phones outside the facility.
00:58You can't have our top national security professionals using an app that's commercially
01:03available and not authorized for this use to be discussing these kinds of war plans.
01:09They never should have been on that CIGNO chat to begin with, and they made it worse
01:14by having a journalist on that chat.
01:18These are reckless actions by Secretary of Defense, and he also made it worse.
01:22Instead of accepting responsibility, he lied to the American people.
01:26He said this was all a hoax when confronted by a reporter, while the White House confirmed
01:31that these CIGNO chats were authentic.
01:34Instead of apologizing to the American people, Hexet lied to the American people.
01:39The cover-up is even worse – actually, I don't think the cover-up is worse.
01:42This whole thing is really, really bad.
01:44It shows how not serious these national security professionals take on national security.
01:50Hexet needs to resign, and everyone on that text chain needs to go take some courses on
01:56how to deal with national security classified information.
