00:17The press conference here in the Chamber is being held regarding the latest developments in the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.

00:26Earlier, the House Prosecution Panel formally asked Senate President Francis Escudero to issue a writ of summons to Vice President Sara Duterte

00:35and to answer to the articles of impeachment against her within 10 days of the adoption of the legislation.

00:43House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanon and One World Reporters Representative Roche Gutierrez led the motion in the Senate as the bodies of the House Prosecution Panel.

00:56They were accompanied by House Deputy Majority Leader Paulo Ortega and House Assistant Majority Leader Jay Congon.

01:03Senate President Francis Escudero said that he hasn't seen the motion of the House Prosecution Panel, but he insisted that they will take action.

01:12The impeachment of Vice President Duterte will be held on February 5, 2025.

01:18Since then, they have been calling on the Senate to issue a writ of summons to the impeachment court, which is expected to start soon.
