00:00Plans were approved earlier this month to turn this empty Dalry Road unit into a new
00:06buffet restaurant. The new restaurant will create 20 full and part-time jobs and will
00:11offer a total of 168 covers for customers at the large 599.8 square metre unit. Most
00:19recently an organic grocery and canteen, this unit has laid empty for some time. With the
00:26plans approved, despite 19 objections online, I spoke to locals to get their reaction.
00:31Yeah, so it's a huge space, it's been unused for so long, it's a bit of an eyesore, it'd
00:36be worthwhile to try and reinvigorate it, you know, a little bit creates jobs, creates
00:39opportunities for people to come and eat, especially with a buffet, you know, yeah,
00:43I think it's a good idea to use the space rather than have it empty.
00:47Um, there's tons of restaurants and cafes over here already, it's good to have, you
00:52know, actual shops around here, like grocery shops and organic shops and, you know, it
00:57just doesn't make sense, so yeah.
01:00I'd be okay with it, it definitely needs to be something, it's been empty for quite a
01:04while, it's never really been a success, so yeah, I'd be more than happy with it.
