00:00A Monday live right here on the early line yesterday on selection Sunday, not only the unveiling of the 2025 men's NCAA tournament bracket. Same story for a selection Sunday evening for the women's big dance in 2025 as well. The four teams on the one line, the number one overall seed, UCLA, the champions of the Big 10 tournament, the regular season champs in the Big 10 USC, our fourth and final one seed, and then two teams from the same conference as well fill out the rest of the tournament.
00:30Of our one seeds, that would be South Carolina, our reigning champs, and Texas.
00:35So all four one seeds, J.Y., the Big 10, and the SEC.
00:40But when you look at the national championship odds, it might be a little perplexing to see the national title favorites alongside the Gamecocks.
00:47Not only that one line, Gino Auriemma, it's Paige Beckers, and it's the Connecticut Huskies, a plus 270 price.
00:54They are the two seed in USC's region.
00:58How do you make sense of the odds in the bracket for the women's NCAA tournament?
01:01Well, you want to talk about crazy things.
01:03They've done it.
01:04They did it again.
01:05Last year, the way they lined it up, it was Angel Reese versus Caitlin Clark in the Elite Eight.
01:09Yeah.
01:10So now you're putting the two most polarizing figures again in the Elite Eight, now in Spokane, with Juju Watkins versus Paige Becker.
01:16Yeah.
01:17And interestingly enough, even though USC is seven to one versus plus 27 for UConn, you know that USC has a win at UConn earlier this year.
01:26But why is it different now?
01:28It's been the play of A.Z. Fudd.
01:30She has been absolutely dynamic.
01:31Remember, she's coming off her second knee injury.
01:33She has played really, really good basketball.
01:36And it's at the point now where I think that game that they went to South Carolina about a month ago and beat them down,
01:42ending a 71-game home winning streak, winning by almost 30, is why people are looking at UConn.
01:48I still think if Gino gets his national championship, this may be it for him.
01:53I think it's UConn, but it's going to be really enticing with them in USC.
01:57Coach, six teams at ten to one or less.
02:00Actually, it's plus 750 or less here, so we have some decent options there.
02:03But give me a team, and again, starting at 31 to 35 to one or higher at FanDuel, that has a legitimate chance to make a run,
02:10meaning I could probably cash in this ticket a little bit later in this tournament.
02:13To me, you have to go to what Mark Campbell has done at TCU.
02:17And everybody knows, here goes Coach again with TCU.
02:20But look at what they've done.
02:22Look at what is a team that was in last place in the Big 12 two years ago,
02:25had tryouts last year during the middle of the season,
02:28and now is the Big 12 champion with Haley Bailiff rejuvenated in that system, that pick-and-roll.
02:33You have Sedona Prince, 6'7", Monticello, and Madison Conner as your shooter.
02:38They play a really exciting brand of basketball.
02:41Now, it's going to be interesting.
02:42They get Notre Dame possibly in the 2-3 matchup.
02:46Remember, TCU beat Notre Dame in the Bahamas, I believe, during the early year.
02:51But then, if you look at all the 4-1 seeds, the most vulnerable one seed is Texas.
02:57They have Harmon at the point.
02:59They have Madison Booker, who is an absolute load.
03:02She wears 35.
03:03Honestly, she reminds me of a female Kevin Durant, how she plays her game.
03:07But that team is the most dangerous.
03:09I think the winner of TCU versus Notre Dame, I think they take out Texas, and they get to the Final Four.
03:15So many talented players for Neal Ivey and that Notre Dame fighting Irish side.
03:19And Hannah Hidalgo, one of the best point guards in the country.
03:22And Olivia Miles.
03:23Just back to USC's region, by the way.
03:26Iowa is there as the 6th seed.
03:29The Hawkeyes play much better basketball down the stretch.
03:32And a really talented Kentucky team as the 4th seed as well.
03:36No doubt, that portion of the bracket is an absolute gauntlet.
03:39TCU, the 2 seed in Texas' area.
03:42But the reigning national champs and the champs of the SEC.
03:47Turney, still Dawn Staley, and South Carolina.
03:50A plus 270 price for the Gamecocks.
03:53J.Y., is there a chance that South Carolina goes back-to-back?
03:56Oh, absolutely.
03:57To me, it's how much has Dawn Staley become enamored with Johnson and some of these other seniors.
04:04Malaysia Fawali is so dynamic of a player.
04:07They've got to lean on her.
04:09When they're going right, they're going to be well played.
04:14I've got to see what happens with Flau'jae Johnson, who missed the SEC tournament.
04:17Such a dynamic score.
04:19Herwin and Isamoro with LSU.
04:21But listen, folks.
04:22There could be upsets on the women's side.
04:24Ball State may be taking out Coach Yellow of Ole Miss.
04:28South Dakota versus Oklahoma State.
04:30Sneaky matchup.
04:31And Iowa, or Murray State, really, really good team.
04:35The Racers.
04:36Can they pick off?
04:37And shout-out to Kari Moore of Harvard.
04:39They got a score.
04:40I think they take out Michigan State in 10-7.
04:42Keep an eye on South Dakota State as well.
04:44The Jackrabbits, out of the Summit League, have dominated that conference.
04:48They are the 10th seed.
04:49They get Oklahoma State in the opening round.
04:51If the South Dakota State Jackrabbits were to win that game,
04:54they would see UConn in that next matchup in a round of 32.
04:58JY, James Young, the coach getting you ready for all the madness that we are going to see to end out March
05:04and into early April.
05:06They fade away in person to the break.
05:10Who's passing me the ball?
05:11Are you passing it?
05:12You don't pass it.
05:14Not passing it.
05:15George.
05:16George.
05:17Oh, I got plenty of time.
05:19It's a buzzer.
