00:00More than 2,000 applications were received by the National Amnesty Commission, or NAC,
00:06from former rebels who wanted to start a new life.
00:10According to NAC Commissioner, Hamar Pulayan,
00:13most of the applications came from former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines,
00:19New People's Army, or CPP-NPA, in Mindanao.
00:22There were also applications from former members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, or MILF,
00:29and Moro National Liberation Front, or MNLF.
00:32In total, NAC is currently studying 69 applications
00:38for their recommendation to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to be granted amnesty.
