00:00The agencies of the government, schools, and local government units called for a first-quarter nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill yesterday.

00:08This is part of the preparation for the possible disaster in Metro Manila.

00:12Patrick Desus has the details.

00:19Exactly at 3 p.m. yesterday,

00:22at the same time, those in charge of the earthquake drill ducked, covered, and held.

00:27This was done across the country by various agencies of the government,

00:31such as schools and local government units.

00:35This is part of the preparation for a powerful earthquake that could hit the country,

00:40such as the Big One 7.2 magnitude earthquake that could be felt in the Greater Manila Area.

00:4834,000 people could die if this earthquake happens.

00:55The DSWD assured that they are ready if the earthquake happens.

01:01They will do their best to ensure that all affected people have food and basic necessities.

01:08As of now, 2.5 million relief goods are available to the entire country.

01:13The first solution in this preparation is not to duck, cover, and hold.

01:19The first step is to ensure everything.

01:22Again, we are talking to our colleagues in the local government units.

01:27They are the first ones we are hoping to continue their efforts

01:33to provide building permit and occupancy permit.

01:38People's Television Network is also one of the participants

01:41in the nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill this first quarter of 2025.

02:20To remind the government that we will be safe during the earthquake.

02:25Just like the earthquake, it also starts with ourselves.

02:29That's why it should be based on the quality standard of the houses or infrastructure.
