00:00I mean, I'm sure you've tasted it all, seen it all.
00:03Has there ever been like a meal where you're like,
00:04I can't eat this, I have to spit this out?
00:06Like how they do like in wine tasting and things like that.
00:08Or do you always like force yourself to eat it?
00:10I don't think we have to be forced.
00:12That's the first thing.
00:13I think season one, two, three,
00:14there were a few things along the way,
00:17but that was before we had the level of talent.
00:24You know, it's always been about professional chefs,
00:25but the first few seasons,
00:26we were really figuring out the formula.
00:28And from then on, it's very rare to get bad food.
00:31Remember, these are not home cooks
00:34who are like trying to be chefs
00:35or think it would be cool to be chefs
00:36or don't know how to cook and we are teaching them.
00:39They are professionals at the highest level.
00:41And so these days, for the last several seasons,
00:44but certainly this season's no exception,
00:46it's not about eliminating the worst dish every episode.
00:50It's always figuring out,
00:52and sometimes that makes our job really hard,
00:54which is the least best dish.
00:56Because the food is always so good.
00:58Like it's at a certain standard.
00:59We don't spit things out.
01:00Things are rarely like egregiously wrong at this point
01:04because they're really talented.
01:05With the exception of a couple of challenges,
01:07it's usually not that bad.
01:08Of course, if they're small, we take a few bites
01:10and move on.
01:11But no, it hasn't been that bad.
01:13But occasionally, especially early in the season,
01:16we have to taste through 14, 15, 16 dishes.

01:22I think the only time I had,
01:24not even, I wouldn't say trouble,
01:25but the most full I felt where I was just like,
01:27I think I need to take a nap and sit down
01:29was after the poutine quick fire.
01:31I was like, I got, like, it was all starch,
01:34a cheese, and a sauce.
01:35And you're just like, okay.
01:37And also because you want to eat it all,
01:39you can take like three bites of 15 poutines.
01:41Like that's a lot.
01:42It is.
01:43Yeah, exactly.
01:44And I think that's when it happens more
01:45when you're eating a lot of the same
01:47because usually every dish is so completely different, right?
01:50It's not such a specific challenge.
01:51And so we're tasting a range of things
01:53and we don't get fatigued from the food that way.

01:57that you had your best meal ever on Top Chef this season?
