00:00WNBA superstar Sabrina Ionescu is now in the Philippines as part of her Asian Tour.

00:07She was welcomed by Filipino fans at her first public appearance

00:11in a court in Bonifacio Global City this Monday.

00:14That's what teammate Rafael Banderel is talking about.

00:21Sabrina Ionescu felt the trademark Filipino hospitality when she arrived in the country yesterday.

00:28At a basketball court in BGC,

00:31dozens of fans welcomed the New York Liberty star and WNBA champion.

00:38This is where Sabrina opened a mic-sync clinic

00:41for the young and feminine hoopers who came.

00:45And of course, the three-point shootout will not be missed

00:49where several members of the Gilas Pilipinas Women

00:54to 27-year-old American basketball star.

00:58Including Hazel Yam, Casey De La Rosa, and Jaz Hosod.

01:04It feels like a dream. I don't know if this is real or not.

01:07But when I saw her, I was so starstruck.

01:10It's a different feeling. It's like wow. Words can't describe.

01:15I'm super happy that I was able to shoot Sabrina.

01:20I'm also super inspired because she's a WNBA player.

01:25They only go here once in a while.

01:27I hope more WNBA players can come here

01:34so they can inspire the kids and other people who look up to them.

01:39Gilas Women also believe that this is a great opportunity for Filipino youth

01:45who dream of becoming professional bowlers one day.

01:49So now that the younger girls are seeing what she does

01:52and she's being here to do the camp,

01:54I feel like it doesn't just make them happy,

01:58but it's also an innovation for them.

02:00They can reach a dream whenever they want.

02:03It gives them more motivation.

02:05At a young age, they see WNBA players,

02:09meaning they are motivated

02:12because there's an opportunity for women to play for the NBA.

02:19With the arrival of the decorated sharpshooter and WNBA champion in the country,

02:24many more Filipino cagers, especially women,

02:28will be inspired to chase their dreams in the world of basketball.
