00:00Syria's interim president, Ahmad al-Shar'a, denounced the violence that took place over
00:06the past four days between security forces and Alawite loyalists of ousted President
00:10Bashar al-Assad.
00:12He also noted he's forming committees to investigate the fighting that took place in the country's
00:17western coastal region.
00:18We have announced the formation of a committee to analyze the facts of the events on the
00:24coast, and to bring those involved to justice, and to reveal the facts to the Syrian people
00:29so that everyone knows who is responsible for this torture and these plans.
00:37Al-Shar'a also vowed to continue working to eliminate all factions and external forces
00:41who are looking to plunge Syria into regression.
00:45Syria will remain steadfast, and we will not allow any foreign or local forces to push
00:51it into chaos or civil war.
00:53We are determined to advance towards the future of our great people.
01:03The violence in coastal Syria claimed the lives of 1,000 people, according to the UK-based
01:08Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
01:11The group says the four-day wave of clashes were one of the deadliest in over a decade.
