00:00Now, back to Stiney and Gurum on 95.7, The Game.
00:06Oh, man.
00:06All right, here we go.
00:07I haven't done this in a long time.
00:09Last time I used to do this, Mark Willard
00:11used to drag it till 10.27,
00:13but I'm trying to get out and get my breakfast burrito.
00:15It's Shaski, he's sitting there like,
00:17hey, let's get down to crossover quick.
00:18Let's do about five minutes.
00:19And then Willard just starts peppering it with questions.
00:21And Shaski would take the bait over and over.
00:25I'm like, Shaski, we've been up since five in the morning,
00:284.30 for some of us,
00:29so you were the Stiney of your show,
00:31because he likes to get out of here ASAP.
00:33And Willard, I brought dinner,
00:35so just buckle up, both of you, buckle up.
00:38Willard's so skilled at asking questions at the end
00:41to keep it going.
00:42Oh, he doesn't, but you know what?
00:44Oh, by the way, the Niners are making moves.
00:45It's claimed cornerback Trey Tomlinson off waivers
00:49from the L.A. Rams.
00:50Trey Tomlinson, who is that?
00:51We have no idea.
00:54Lakin's nephew.
00:55Lakin's nephew, oh, okay.
00:56I thought it was LT's cousin or something like that.
00:58Maybe both.
00:59Maybe both.
00:59Who am I to say?
01:00But actually, just real quick,
01:02I was waxing poetic yesterday
01:05about what I consider the good old days
01:07when Mark and I did nine to noon,
01:10you and Stiney did 12 to three.
01:12I can't remember who did the afternoon show.
01:14It's not important,
01:15but you guys were doing the mornings,
01:17and I was like, and my wife said to me,
01:18it's like, yeah, nine to noon.
01:20Any chance we get back to that?
01:22I said, A, we're doing four hours minimum, not this week,
01:27and B, the middays are on lock,
01:29but that was the time that we would do the little crossover
01:32and it would be like,
01:34we'd try to milk it to about nine to 20, nine to 25.
01:38Damn vacation.
01:39Oh my goodness.
01:40Oh my God.
01:41Now we say dry time, Morty,
01:42dry in the afternoon, dry.
01:44There's nothing like the afternoon.
01:46I started in the afternoons, 12 to three,
01:47then with BSCG, 10 to two.
01:50There's nothing like, oh, you get to wake up,
01:52you get out, you get to watch a game, have some dinner.
01:54Almost started off by this.
01:55No fuck with Mark Willard.
01:56Yeah.
01:57I know Grandy went back to back in a knockout tournament,
02:00but oh my Lord, I don't know if it was a lovely
02:03Christie being in the building,
02:04I don't know if it's Chase Center,
02:05but it does help things.
02:06This guy was shooting like Reggie Miller,
02:09and I wanted him to miss every one.
02:11No, I started rooting for the OG.
02:13I wanted the OG to win.
02:15I wanted the OG to win it,
02:16but then, Grandy kept making shots like,
02:18Greg, Grandy won't miss,
02:20and then all of a sudden,
02:21Willard bent over with the basketball,
02:23was huffing and puffing,
02:24and I said, aw.
02:25No, no.
02:26He saw the coming.
02:26Father time.
02:27He's done.
02:28I wasn't done.
02:29Tapped him on the shoulder.
02:30No, his calf was hurt.
02:31Yeah, my calf was howling.
02:32He got a KD?
02:33It was howling at me,
02:34and I'm like, I'm not tapping out.
02:36Dude, you made some shots, man.
02:37We're not tapping out,
02:38but Grandy has not had a 30th birthday yet,
02:42and the dude is moving with intensity.
02:44I'm like, chill.
02:45We could've actually,
02:47we could've milked this thing.
02:48Yeah.
02:49We could've built up the drama a little bit,
02:50but it's not the way he rolls.
02:51But Vontae, I got a dirty little secret about knockouts.
02:52Grandy was like 30 of 31 all day.
02:54And so was our other guy, Carter,
02:56and Key was making some.
02:58Yeah, that's true.
02:59I'm a hater.
03:00I'm upstairs wanting everybody to miss
03:02and work with Larry Bird.
03:05With Larry Bird.
03:05Hey, man.
03:06I told you.
03:07Did you know Grandy didn't get another trophy?
03:10He's got the same trophy.
03:11And still has the wrong year on it.
03:12That's why I didn't leave.
03:13No, it was November, as we discussed.
03:14There was no trophy beat.
03:15Are we pitching around here like that?
03:18Yeah.
03:18We couldn't get another trophy?
03:19I go, Grandy, where's the other one?
03:21Look, look, look.
03:22We need more sponsorships.
03:23Look, look, look.
03:24He was not in charge of the event,
03:26and I aired my grievances already,
03:28so I'm gonna go ahead and lay out,
03:30because there were nine things
03:31that I thought could've been better.
03:32I laid two of them out.
03:33Look, look, look.
03:34It wasn't part of the, he didn't.
03:34It was a Lucas Alexander production.
03:36Oh.
03:37Yeah, don't even blame him.
03:38Well, you know what?
03:39Nah, nah, you know what?
03:40Nah, I got a bone to pick before we get to what's bugging.
03:41Yeah, I do have a bone to pick,
03:43because I was listening yesterday.
03:43I love it.
03:44I still keep my ears to the streets.
03:46And the streets also tap in with me
03:47and tell me what's going on.
03:49How did you not participate, Dan Dibley?
03:51Here we go.
03:52Because I didn't want to.
03:53Oh, see, that's a problem.
03:55Why is it a problem?
03:55It's like last year, Shaski didn't even show up.
03:57Oh, my Shaski.
03:58You're right.
03:59Come on, man.
04:00Like, he didn't even show up.
04:01And now you go up there,
04:03I get the announcing,
04:04and you got your Marv Albert on or whatnot.
04:06Well, I got eight minutes,
04:07because Guru couldn't survive longer than that.
04:09I am taking straight, like, boy.
04:11My volunteerism was,
04:13I was gonna show up and broadcast
04:15so that Daryl could do what he wanted to do and play,
04:18and Stiney's on a,
04:20apparently a long,
04:21protracted, prolonged, allegedly, vacation.
04:25So I thought, you know what?
04:26I'm gonna step in with Evan and broadcast.
04:28I don't need to be out there.
04:29I don't really want to be out there.
04:31See, they're not a team player, Dan.
04:33Come on.
04:34It was just for fun.
04:34It was just for fun.
04:35It's just for fun.
04:36The streets needed you, Dan.
04:38You know what?
04:39You're that extra element.
04:40You're one of the OGs of 95-70 game.
04:42You're on the Mount Dibmore
04:44about Rushmore of 95-70 game.
04:46And for you to not shoot at least one free,
04:49you were part of the disgrace in chase.
04:50We rooted you on against Lodell.
04:52We were in the playroom watching,
04:54saying, come on, Dibbers, come on.
04:56Dibbers came up short that day.
04:57And you weren't talking about injuries.
04:59I had a exercise-related bronchitis the next day.
05:04Your boy almost passed away.
05:05That's neither here nor there.
05:07Exercise-related bronchitis?
05:10I've never heard of anything like that.
05:12That's a new one.
05:13ERB.
05:14These are facts.
05:15And I mean, you're 50 now,
05:16and so you pulled a calf shooting free throws.
05:18We can joke around about it all the rest of the day.
05:21I'm about to give you that level.
05:24To say that you didn't think that I was a team player,
05:26if I was not a team player,
05:27I would have either been on vacation.
05:29Or not show up.
05:30Or showed up at 145.
05:32Everybody needs some time off.
05:33They gotta be excited for a little bit.
05:34I showed up early to broadcast and to talk to this guy.
05:37Okay, yeah, hold up.
05:39I tried.
05:40He doesn't show up in a bloody full tie game anymore.
05:42Yeah, because you're hungry.
05:43Nothing like that's charity.
05:44I love that you called it volunteerism.
05:47You sought people out three months ago
05:50to make sure that you were on the broadcast
05:53because you knew that you wanted to get ahead of it
05:56so that nobody even asked you to play in this event.
06:00You brought it up before anybody even came to you.
06:03Right.
06:04I was in the room.
06:05I got my popcorn.
06:05You have to play.
06:06No, you don't.
06:07I wanted to do what I could to help the overall product.
06:10And for me, I don't want to go out there
06:12and shoot free throws.
06:13I want to do what I can to help the overall presentation,
06:17which is what I tried to do.
06:18That's fine.
06:19Yeah, it's fine.
06:20It's not fine, because I heard from you
06:21and now I'm hearing from him.
06:23And you're trying to dog pile as well.
06:25Now that you know that there's a pile,
06:27you're coming in, you're coming in third, so.
06:29I went back on the Odyssey app and your broadcast was needed.
06:32It was needed next to advocating.
06:33She did a great job.
06:34Yeah, eight minutes of my best work.
06:35It was good material.
06:37Yeah.
06:37It's a fact.
06:38It's better than your $2 jokes
06:39that the San Jose golf course just gave it.
06:41Dibs, he dibs, it's okay.
06:43I got to get on him too, since we're rolling out dibs.
06:45No, I love you, Dibs.
06:46And this is great.
06:47He's someone's material guru, and that's so.
06:49And then you turned 50, remember that?
06:51That was your 50th birthday party.
06:52Yeah, that was my 50th birthday.
06:53You hit my man with the knowledge.
06:55And I did subsequently apologize for that
06:57because I was running material
06:59and I was looking for somebody to pick on.
07:02And at that time, I didn't know then what I know now.
07:06The dude's the king.
07:07So.
07:08No, no, no, no.
07:09Back then.
07:10Guru, you're getting on guru more than myself.
07:12You weren't giving me some heat.
07:13So I was like, damn.
07:14I was giving everybody heat.
07:15But.
07:16I was kind of laughing.
07:17He's like, damn, he's kind of giving it to me now.
07:18Had I known then that you'd become this,
07:20I would have been kissing that one on my knee.
07:22I like that he asked you
07:23if you remembered your 50th birthday.
07:25That was a long time ago.
07:26What was that?
07:27Six years ago?
07:27That's a long way to go.
07:28Wow.
07:29Do you remember your 50th birthday?
07:32It was our golf tournament.
07:33Y'all messy, man.
07:35Jerry Rice, right?
07:35Yeah, see, I feel bad now.
07:37We had Jerry Rice there.
07:38And who else was out there?
07:40It was Jerry.
07:41Was that the one out there?
07:42Jerry was there.
07:43Was that the one out in Oakley?
07:44Or was that the one after that?
07:45No, that was San Jose.
07:46Yeah, we had Low Neal.
07:47Jerry was out there.
07:48Yeah, yeah, yeah.
07:49He had to be there.
07:50He was working with us.
07:51Well, the one in Oakley,
07:51we had the Lister who almost died
07:53and Low Neal saved her life.
07:54The other host on that board of show,
07:56the other host on that board of show
07:57just left right after the show.
07:58He was like, yo, we got a golf tournament.
08:00Yeah.
08:01You can call him out.
08:02You can name check him.
08:03Fadenball, Joe Fadenball.
08:04We call him Joe Fadenball.
08:05We call him Joe Fadenball these days.
08:06Back on TV, Joe.
08:07Cheeks are getting a little hot over there.
08:09Hey, hey.
08:09Somebody told me a long time.
08:10You see my cheeks?
08:11I love food.
08:12Food loves me.
08:13You know what I'm saying?
08:14You look great.
08:15It's because you got that good smile.
08:16Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:16I try, I try, I try.
08:17What's going on, boys?
08:18What's cooking?
08:19The Warriors are cooking, man.
08:21The Warriors are cooking.
08:22And I mean, look, how about this?
08:25Let me run this at you
08:27because after what Shaq said on TNT the other night,
08:33I feel like everybody sort of took
08:35like this campy reaction to it.
08:37Like, it's very Steph Curry-esque
08:40because everybody loves Steph.
08:42So it's like, yeah.
08:43Hey, Steph should be in that conversation.
08:46Nobody felt it in their core.
08:49Hold on a second.
08:50What if he won this one?
08:53Oh, Willard.
08:54What if he won this one?
08:56And tell me, because usually we think about
08:59like LeBron's done it in multiple jerseys.
09:03And so-and-so's done it over multiple decades.
09:05Or Jordan had the three-peats.
09:07Wouldn't Steph become the greatest all time
09:11in terms of the number of Robins
09:15have been with his Batman?
09:18That means Clay.
09:19And I know some would argue.
09:20Kevin Durant.
09:21Durant, some would argue.
09:22For me, I'm sorry.
09:23I get it.
09:24But yeah, Durant.
09:25Andrew damn Wiggins.
09:27No doubt.
09:28And then if he does it with Jimmy Butler
09:30and both of them have already had their 35th birthday.
09:32Why can't, like why is it offensive
09:35if I did say if he were to actually win this one,
09:39this is the greatest career of any NBA player
09:43I've ever seen in my life.
09:44Why can't we go there?
09:48The dirty little secret for me is I'm already there.
09:51And with Steph.
09:53And the best compliment I told B is he's one of one.
09:58He got a ring without Durant,
10:00allowed Durant to come and got him too.
10:02I believe that.
10:04Durant would be ringless.
10:05But where I'm going is if defense does count,
10:10I understand if we're all just being real,
10:13that's where Curry would be lacking
10:16when you talk about Bron and Jordan.
10:18But here's where I'm going.
10:20He beat LeBron James three times
10:25and he's the GOAT apparently
10:27with a losing record in the finals,
10:29but he got there so many times.
10:30So which way do you want it?
10:33Steph Curry sliced the king three times
10:36on the biggest stage and has four rings.
10:39So if he gets this fifth one, then game on.
10:43I also think, I think he gets a demerit
10:46for his physical stature,
10:48which to me is actually should be the opposite.
10:51These other guys have so many things that are in,
10:55that they show up to the arena with
10:56that Steph does not have.
10:57I hear that.
10:58Here's how I look at it, Mark.
10:59And I don't take offense to it.
11:00The GOAT conversations kind of jumped the shark.
11:02It's all people talking about,
11:03who's the GOAT, who's the GOAT?
11:04Who cares?
11:05They're all great.
11:06The fact that Stephen Curry's in a conversation
11:07is enough for me.
11:09Stephen Curry at 6'3", 190, 200, whatever it is,
11:13the greatest three point shooter ever
11:15playing off the basketball dibbers.
11:16The fact that he's in the conversation is enough for me.
11:19That speaks values to his greatness.
11:22And then if he does get another one,
11:23all of a sudden he's next to Magic Johnson
11:25and Tim Duncan at the table.
11:26That's enough for me.
11:28I don't care who.
11:29It's all opinion based, right?
11:30Yeah, for sure.
11:31Toby's got five.
11:32Toby's got five too, yep.
11:33And if you look at the end of Steph's career,
11:35and Mark and I did this the other day on the air
11:36about where he might land on the all-time points list,
11:40because right now there are-
11:41Give us the projections.
11:42There are nine players,
11:44actually in the NBA,
11:45and Julius Irving got some ABA,
11:47so in the NBA there are eight guys
11:48who've had 30,000 points.
11:50Steph would need,
11:52he needs about 5,000 points to get there,
11:54which if you give him 20 a night,
11:57that's 250 games.
11:58That's about three and a half seasons of actual basketball.
12:01Doable.
12:02Very doable, considering his health,
12:05his fitness, and what he does.
12:07So if he winds up with more than 30,000 points,
12:10and James Harden probably will too,
12:12so there'll be 10 of them.
12:13Kevin Durant's already there.
12:15And if he's one of 10 guys to have 30K,
12:17and he's one of 12 players to have five or more titles,
12:21and of those 12,
12:22you've got guys like Steve Kerr's got five,
12:25no disrespect.
12:26Robert Ory's got seven.
12:29You know, these are not players
12:30who you would think about in that same vein.
12:32Even Tim Duncan, he's got five,
12:34but the last one he got, he was a bench player.
12:36So if he has five titles and 30,000 points,
12:41and he changed the game,
12:42and he's the all-time three-point shooter,
12:44then you can really look at him
12:45and put him alongside of, for me,
12:48Kareem and MJ and LeBron,
12:52and he might be up there on the rush more.
12:54And let's be honest,
12:55Kareem gets no love in this GOAT conversation,
12:57which is, I'll just leave that there.
12:59I don't know what this is.
13:00He won everywhere.
13:01UCLA, Power Memorial in New York City,
13:04you know, with the LA Lakers, the Bucs.
13:06I mean, Kareem just gets overlooked.
13:08The Skyhook, think about the Skyhook.
13:10Nobody's been able to replicate that.
13:12I just think centers aren't-
13:14Is that it?
13:15Yeah, they're not as visually pleasing
13:17to watch play basketball as wings and guards,
13:21like what they do, and that's where Steph gets me.
13:24I mean, again, last night,
13:26what's more entertaining than-
13:28It's him by far, man.
13:30Like, and MJ and Kobe and LeBron are wildly entertaining,
13:35but I just think that Steph does stuff
13:37that the imagination-
13:38Is video game-
13:39Yeah, it can't comprehend.
13:40And I'm starting to wonder,
13:43those shots that Heavey made last night,
13:45the one in Orlando,
13:46we watch him, if you get to the arena sooner,
13:48he practices that, so again,
13:50I'm not saying he's shooting 50% from the,
13:53it's like, he made it because he practices that
13:56and he's that good at it.
13:57He thinks that's a shot.
13:58Everyone else thinks it's a heave.
14:00He thinks it's an actual shot.
14:02What that fourth championship did
14:04was take Curry from the underrated category,
14:06which I think Hakim Olajuwon, you just brought up centers.
14:08Hakim Olajuwon's footwork was guard-like.
14:11His fadeaway jumper-
14:13Sucker-like, like Hakim gets no love in this conversation,
14:16and he had seasons where he was driving,
14:17what, 25, 12, 13, five block shots in a season,
14:21so it's all subjective, man.
14:23It's funny that it's now happening
14:25after a game against the New York Knicks,
14:27but Steph has been doing this for so long.
14:29If he gets five to surpass LeBron,
14:31then isn't he greater than Bron's,
14:33just in the GOAT thing, it's like,
14:36I'm kinda with Bonte that it's like,
14:39we're never gonna get to an answer.
14:40All right, no doubt, and that's the fun.
14:42And I'm not even trying to get to an answer.
14:43I want him to have a seat at the table
14:48and not have people laugh at that.
14:51Yeah, and just real quick, 20 seconds,
14:53I think about the Last Supper,
14:56and shout out Ash Wednesday, which was two days ago.
14:58If you did a Last Supper picture of the NBA
15:02and you had 12 people that you wanted to paint around,
15:05and I don't even wanna say who Jesus would be
15:08in that picture, but if you wanna go to the 12 disciples,
15:11he's in the painting.
15:12That's a good point.
15:13He's getting painted out.
15:14That's a good point.
15:15That's enough for me.
15:15Like, I think about that.
15:16And don't even ask me who the Judas is,
15:18because I'll tell you now.
15:20Time for the legal.

15:57Man, just to kind of-
15:58People love that analogy, too.
15:59You guys got some sleep.
16:00You got some sleep.
16:01Oh, yeah.
16:02I'm feeling good.
16:02I'm feeling good.
16:03Nothing's bugging me.
16:04Hey, I'm feeling good.
16:05I just feel fine.
16:06Amen.
16:07He said that this morning.
16:08Amen.
16:09You got some sleep.
16:09Slice time change.
16:10Yeah, I'm not gonna lie.
16:11The first day I was off the roads,
16:13the alarm clock went off at 4.30,
16:14because I'd forgotten.
16:15I looked at my phone, and I just started laughing.
16:17Like, ha, ha, ha, ha.
16:17Yeah, yeah.
16:18Back to sleep, buddy.
16:19You got some sleep.
16:20Oh, man.
16:21It can be anything, and for me,
16:23what's bugging me is what I discovered yesterday.
16:25I didn't discover it, but I saw it,
16:27and it's young people on BART,
16:29where you get on the BART train,
16:31and you got those first, like, eight seats, right,
16:34that are-
16:34Okay.
16:35Disabled seating.
16:36Oh, my God.
16:37You got the other two next to it,
16:38and you have the other two next to it,
16:39and it's like, if no one else is on the train,
16:42you go ahead and sit there.
16:42All day.
16:43And I'm standing because, whatever,
16:45I'm younger, and I'm not in need of a seat,
16:48and I got my music, and I'm not on my phone, whatever,
16:50and there's these two whippersnappers,
16:52and these two ladies got on the train.
16:54I love that word.
16:55One of them was probably 60,
16:58drops her umbrella.
16:59She can almost not even pick it up,
17:01and the other lady's got a backpack and a suitcase,
17:04and I look at these two kids,
17:06and I'm looking, and I'm like,
17:07dude, the two of them are together.
17:10You're gonna make them stand up,
17:11and I'm just waiting, and I'm waiting, and I'm waiting,
17:14and I'm channeling my inner Michael Douglas
17:16from falling down.
17:18I'm not just gonna sit here, Mark,
17:19because I'm out here trying to pick a fight.
17:21You know me, Mark.
17:22You know me.
17:23Because he can go down on bar,
17:24and I told you, quit playing.
17:26I profiled these two young men.
17:29They didn't want to fight,
17:30so I pulled out an earbud,
17:32and I gave the one the boop, boop, boop,
17:34the tap, tap, tap, and I said,
17:35you tell me you're not gonna get up for these ladies?
17:38Oh, oh, I'm sorry.
17:40And it's like, yeah, get up.
17:42So, like, young people who don't have the understanding,
17:46show some respect.
17:47It's one thing, like, if I get on the train,
17:50and I don't have my knee brace on, whatever,
17:52you don't know that I'm already broken,
17:53and it's not that serious,
17:54and so I'll stand.
17:55You got there first.
17:56But if Norm is on the train.
17:57Dude, get up.
17:59Come on, man.
17:59Get up.
18:00I should go up.
18:01Yeah, so anyway, that's what's bugging me.
18:02I'm coming after our boss, Matt Higgins.
18:04Oh!
18:05You sound like Vontae Arvstiney.
18:08But it has nothing to do with him being the boss,
18:10or him even working here, just in general,
18:11because he just did this, like, seven minutes ago.
18:14So, don't do this to people.
18:16Don't go up to them and tell them
18:18what you were thinking about doing for them,
18:21and then decided not to.
18:23Matt just cruised through the hallway,
18:25and he's telling multiple people,
18:27hey, I was gonna get pizza,
18:29but then I found out the price,
18:31and it's a little hot,
18:33so we're not gonna do it.
18:34So, we're pitied.
18:35So, the point he's trying to make is,
18:39sort of like,
18:40can you believe the price of pizza these days?
18:43Which I'm like, yes, now I'm hungry.
18:45Brother Norm, I'm with you.
18:46Why are you trying to charge $50 for a pizza?
18:50I'm with you.
18:50But don't do it in a way where you're like,
18:52so I was gonna buy you pizza.
18:54That's the worst.
18:54I decided not to,
18:55because now my mouth is watering,
18:57and it didn't need to be.
18:58Now I'm hungry.
18:59I brought food.
19:00I'm fine.
19:01Well, I can't.
19:02I'm Bundy Lyons.
19:02I'm gonna walk in the room,
19:03right?
19:04Just walk in the room,
19:05and be like,
19:06can you believe the price of pizza these days?
19:08And then we would've had a laugh,
19:09and moved on with our life.
19:11Now I'm upset that I don't get the pizza.
19:13It's so funny.
19:14That would tick me off.
19:14Yeah.
19:15You know he did that to me.
19:16I was debating.
19:17I was like, hey,
19:18can I just do this hit with the one he wrote?
19:19Dick Friedle was in.
19:20I was like,
19:21you know,
19:22I do it from home,
19:23nine to 10,
19:24a little tired,
19:25all-star break,
19:25whatever.
19:26He goes,
19:27hey, just get an Uber.
19:28Send me the price.
19:29And I sent him the price.
19:30He goes,
19:30uh,
19:31I was like,
19:32you guys,
19:33it looks like a surging.
19:34It looks like a surging.
19:35I was like,
19:35this guy.
19:36And I knew when I sent it to him,
19:37I got a handle.
19:38Look at the price here.
19:39There's no way he can pay for this.
19:40Oh man.
19:41People just got laid off.
19:43Look,
19:44look,
19:45look,
19:46look,
19:47look.
19:4740 bucks for like three and a half miles.
19:49Look,
19:50look,
19:51look,
19:52this poor sponsorship hasn't kicked in yet.
19:52We're still waiting on the change.
19:53That is great,
19:54man.
19:55That's all good to you,
19:56Mark.
19:57Can't believe I'm courting one Mark again.
19:57Yeah.
19:58What's up?
19:59What happened to you?
20:00What happened to you,
20:01man?
20:02I got sleep,
20:03Mark.
20:04You got sleep.
20:04You got sleep.
20:05You got to the bottom of it.
20:06You was just tired.
20:07Yeah.
20:08Oh my God.
20:09I can't shake what I'm feeling now.
20:09And again,
20:10only God can judge.
20:11Shout out to Tupac.
20:12So we all know how I got into business.
20:14I won a contest,
20:15but I never made a call to a station or a host
20:17thinking I wanted their job.
20:19I just was so enamored with,
20:21with,
20:22with the medium that was to share my opinion.
20:24So now I'm in the business.
20:27I'm no Stephen A. Smith.
20:28I'm no Michael Wilbon,
20:30but I'm in the media business.
20:31We are with my guys.
20:33So I got an opinion and I got a place to share my opinion,
20:36but where I'm going is what I'm watching.
20:39And I don't want to make this racial and I'm not,
20:41but the black on black crime in the media between guys
20:46that I looked up to is,
20:48is just,
20:49it's tacky.
20:50I,
20:51I think it's,
20:52it's,
20:52it's embarrassing to,
20:54to show the youngsters of all ethnic backgrounds,
20:58what stewards in the media business are doing in regard to
21:01Berkeley,
21:02Berkeley and Kendrick Perkins,
21:04who took out basically,
21:05I'm going to get my strap and come basically use my dad on
21:09you with,
21:10with Barclay and Barclay calling his soon to be coworker,
21:14a idiot and talking about the other station.
21:17And then I got shacking and the great Ernie Johnson in the
21:20back cackling is if that's funny,
21:22it's not funny,
21:24fix yourself.
21:25And I frankly,
21:26I'm embarrassed that these guys at their age are going at it
21:31and basically being infants.
21:32But also I'm looking at Kendrick Perkins and what he wrote,
21:35it was a threat.
21:37And I've been in the corporate world.
21:38Like,
21:39dude,
21:40you might could get ousted.
21:41And then to see LeBron James roll up on Stephen A while the
21:45game still was going and leave the hotel and basically look
21:49at it like it's on after we get outside of the cafeteria
21:53dibs,
21:54it breaks my heart.
21:55But you know what?
21:57It looked like Twitter.
21:58If Twitter was a person and I don't know if social media is,
22:03it has everybody to where they're really,
22:05they're ready to risk it all.
22:06But when I saw both of those instances,
22:09I was embarrassed.
22:10I like to joke with the best of them,
22:12but guys,
22:13I just thought that was tacky all the way around.
22:16You take it at full face value.
22:18In other words,
22:19what,
22:20and I'm not saying I don't,
22:21but let's be real.
22:23It works.
22:25Maybe the problem I think,
22:28and I don't mean that they're like faking it.
22:31I don't mean they're faking it,
22:32but I do think in our business,
22:34people have sort of dropped their fear of that kind of
22:39discourse because they know that's like,
22:42if we go there,
22:43it's a trending look.
22:45No.
22:45Oh,
22:46so now regardless of whatever their little Richard,
22:49if it's good or bad,
22:50as long as they're talking to Mark's point,
22:54I wasn't watching first take,
22:56but I went on Twitter to see if she had responded.
22:58It got me to do that.
22:59Cause I was like,
23:00wow,
23:01sorry.
23:02I was like,
23:03damn.
23:04Okay.
23:04And he did.
23:05And he did.
23:06He responded.
23:07Do you do,
23:08he was going to take the bait and respond and talk about it
23:09for eight minutes or whatnot.
23:09And you know,
23:10no,
23:11but you kind of led me into something because I told guru
23:13for sure.
23:14Nothing's really bugging me.
23:15I'm feeling good right now.
23:16You know,
23:17warriors are rolling.
23:18The off season is about to start the NFL free agency and
23:20all that stuff,
23:21but social media and the 28th,
23:22I call them 20 inch now.
23:23Solar for Chris.
23:24Okay.
23:25There are a lot of 20 it's out there.
23:28And haven't we learned anything that super bowls aren't one
23:32in March division titles aren't one or clenched in may there.
23:37It's in the fall.
23:38And so for people freaking out about the 49ers,
23:40I feel like they're going to be five and 12 next season.
23:43Oh my God.
23:44They traded people and they don't have any cash.
23:45I'm not going to do this.
23:47We have no idea what's going on to Santa Clara.
23:49We don't know what's cooking behind those walls.
23:51And for people to say,
23:52they don't really want to win anymore.
23:54They want to cut costs.
23:55They just want to be mediocre.
23:56That's the dumbest thing I've heard.
23:58You don't think Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch wants to win.
24:01They're John Lynch is a hall of famer.
24:03Kyle Shanahan, his father's Mike Shanahan,
24:05who's a two times who wrote,
24:06they're in the business of winning.
24:08They want to win, win, win, win, win.
24:10Now I may look different,
24:11but for people to freak out,
24:13like haven't we been here before?
24:15Haven't we watched sports before?
24:17Like it's just the same thing over and over and over.
24:20So that's what's bugging me.
24:21The off-season chatter,
24:22then the doom and gloom about the San Francisco 49ers
24:25and what's going on with them.
24:26Like they don't want to win
24:28because they want to allocate their funds
24:29in a different way.
24:30So that's kind of bugging me over the last year.
24:32I get that.
24:33I mean, I'm here for an off-season freak out,
24:34but not this month.
24:36Like you can't freak out until the moves have been made.
24:39Like let the draft happen.
24:40Let free agency happen next Monday.
24:42Yeah.
24:43See what's like, let's see who's heard his contract.
24:46We don't know what his contract's going to look like.
24:47Don't even know if there's going to be a contract.
24:49I mean, who knows?
24:50You can still imagine.
24:51So like, but I'm with you.
24:54Like it's hard to stay patient, you know,
24:56but like nothing's happened yet.
24:59Literally all next to nothing has happened yet.
25:02Not this off-season.
25:03Yeah, exactly.
25:05Pro days haven't happened.
25:06Not nothing, but next to it.
25:07Yeah, yeah.
25:08Pro days haven't happened.
25:09I do think it's the nature of what we do now.
25:10And you know, Mark gives me a hard time
25:12about 2022 with the Warriors
25:14where I didn't think that they would win the title.
25:16And you know, I have a radio show and so,
25:19but I have a microphone.
25:20And so every day I was saying that
25:21I didn't think that it would happen.
25:23And you know, he's much more of a positive guy.
25:25And so he was, you know,
25:26reserving the right to be surprised.
25:28And so I got burned and I was wrong.
25:30And I do think that a lot of us on social media now
25:33are predisposed to, oh, the Giants won't,
25:36the Giants can't even sniff the Dodgers.
25:38And the Niners, well, they're tanking now.
25:40And you know, Shanahan's on his way out.
25:42And you know, the Warriors,
25:44I mean, you get Jimmy Butler if you want,
25:45but you're still not going to be very good.
25:47And so I do think that we are all
25:49a little bit more predisposed to being negative.
25:52And then when you're proven wrong,
25:54you don't have to own up to it
25:55unless you have a radio show.
25:57A doubt.
25:58Even if you do though, there's no,
25:59I actually was talking to this about
26:02some of the students who are coming to the game
26:03tomorrow night with the Warriors.
26:04Talk to one of your guys, Oliver.
26:06Oh, did you?
26:07Oh, that's right, he told me.
26:08Yeah, we talked last Saturday.
26:09Thank you for talking to him.
26:09Yeah, yeah, you know, I got time for the kids.
26:11He appreciated that.
26:12He looked at you.
26:12Tay loves the kids.
26:13Yeah.
26:14I was telling him, like, whoa, the kid.
26:18Trick Daddy's talking, yeah, yeah, I can see you.
26:21I like the don't afraid to be wrong
26:23because it's like, it's fine.
26:25Like, what's the penalty?
26:27It's kind of like what I was trying to like,
26:29like, miss the free throw.
26:30It's okay.
26:31Yeah, I told him, yeah.
26:32It's okay.
26:33Miss the free throw.
26:34You miss the opinion, whatever.
26:35You guys with your video with Trey Lance
26:38and the way you've made fun of that.
26:38That we played that today.
26:40Yeah.
26:40Oh my God.
26:41Like, I mean, just, there's no.
26:42I had a lot of that.
26:43There's no.
26:45There's no penalty unless you make it that way.
26:48No, heck, I thought the Warriors
26:50were going to win the championship
26:51up until the finals when they lost game one.
26:53Then I freaked out.
26:54Then it went down to one
26:55and Steph called us on the doc, Shasky and I.
26:58Yeah, they're too fast, too young, too athletic.
27:01I don't know.
27:01You know, Shasky.
27:02Yeah, I don't like this.
27:04And then they won game four and the rest is history.
27:06So we all live in a moment, man.
27:08We're always wrong.
27:09And Stephen A, like, is a great example of like,
27:11was he wrong to call out LeBron
27:14the way he did?
27:15I want to hear this.
27:15He probably was to call out his fatherhood.
27:17Like, I would never judge you or you or you
27:20on how you are as dads.
27:21And you got three, you got one, you got three,
27:24I got three, like, we'll do what we can
27:27to judge another man on how he is as a dad,
27:30to me is out of bounds.
27:31And Stephen A did say he acted differently
27:33because Bron didn't come at him as Bron and it hit me.
27:36He came at him as a parent for what he said about Bron.
27:39And that, I was like, that's heavy.
27:42Educate me.
27:43What was the actual basis of this conversation?
27:46Because it's one thing if he's coming at LeBron
27:49about being a dad, to me,
27:50it's a completely different conversation
27:52if we're talking about rolling out the red carpet
27:54for your son to be, get guaranteed money
27:56and be a Laker when you're not talented enough.
27:58I guess.
27:59It was all that.
28:00It was all that, yeah.
28:01Those are two different subjects.
28:02We can play this out and go back to January.
28:03A few weeks ago, right here.
28:05Here's the quote.
28:05I am pleading with LeBron James as a father,
28:08stop this, as he reacted to Bronny James
28:10playing a loss to the Philadelphia 76.
28:13See, I don't think that's challenging his fatherhood.
28:15He actually went on to say, as a father, LeBron,
28:18as a father, you need to stop this.
28:20Don't subject him to that.
28:22He's not the first one to say it.
28:23He's definitely not the first one to think it.
28:26Dude, he's Bronny.
28:26I wasn't happy though.
28:27I was looking at it.
28:28But you know what?
28:30You are the one, if you're LeBron James,
28:32you opened your son up to this.
28:35You don't get, it's funny to me,
28:37this is very similar to what he said about Anthony Edwards,
28:40where he's like, I get why he doesn't want to be
28:41the face of the league.
28:42I hate that.
28:43Because everybody comes down our road
28:44and we didn't ask for this.
28:45You didn't ask for this?
28:47Holy crap, yes you did.
28:50You've profited off this everywhere.
28:52You've called yourself the chosen one.
28:54You can't now suddenly not like it when there's a tension.
28:57You cannot not like it, you billionaire,
29:00when there's a tension on what you're doing
29:02and you subjected your son to this.
29:05He's not a player.
29:06That's not anyone's fault.
29:08I mean, the tracks are there.
29:12He did this, there's no way the Lakers did this.
29:13I just can't get over Stephen A's lapel.
29:15His lapel on his suit covers his pocket square.
29:17I've never seen anything like that.
29:18With that said, we're heading to Sacramento.
29:21Dibs, I love you.
29:22What are you doing?
29:22I gotta go record something.
29:24He just got by here and said, get the hell out of here.
29:25We gotta record something.
29:26Yeah, I stayed till 18.
29:28You stayed three minutes overtime, Dibs.
29:31I'm gonna get some overtime right here.
29:32Probably not until he gets pity pitches.
29:34I mean, four hours a month, you're a hero.
29:37Steve King is really digging deep.
29:39He's been cleaning up the window glass
29:41next to his car by now.
29:44Sorry.
29:44All right, boys.
29:45Good to see you, brother.
29:46Good to see you guys, man.
