00:00Pera Amno Youth Vice Chief Fahmi Ahmad Jakisi is said to be among the frontrunners to be

00:06fielded as Barisan Nasional's candidate for the IU Kuningbai election.

00:11A party source told FMT that Fahmi, who is also the TAPA Amno Youth chief, had already

00:17obtained the blessing of the central and state BN leaderships to contest in the upcoming

00:21election.

00:23The source said Fahmi's experience and position in the Pera Amno Youth hierarchy and his close

00:27relationship with the local community in TAPA and the surrounding areas could give

00:32him an edge in understanding the issues faced by the IU Kuning electorate.

00:37The source also said Fahmi was actively involved in various Amno Youth programmes at the state

00:42level, adding that this showcased his ability to lead and inspire the younger generation

00:47to attract young voters in the next general election.

00:50A TAPA native, 42-year-old Fahmi previously served as a special officer to former Pera

00:55Executive Councillor and IU Kuning Assemblyman, Samsudin Abu Hassan.

01:00Samsudin did not defend the seat in the 2022 election, as BN fielded Isham Shahruddin who

01:06won the five-cornered contest with a 2,213-vote majority.

01:11Isham, 59, died last Saturday after suffering a heart attack following a friendly football

01:16match in Penang.
