Transcript
00:00At Ashton Gate, Bristol City came from behind to defeat Middlesbrough in the Championship.
00:06Bristol City came back from 1-0 down in the first half to win 2-1 at home against Middlesbrough in the Championship on Friday night.
00:15Former Robins player Tommy Conway had given Borough the lead after 37 minutes,
00:20but then in the second half, a brace from George Earthy, the first after 72 minutes,
00:25and then the second just 10 minutes later, after 82 minutes, saw the Robins claim all three points and move them ever closer to the playoff places.
00:34Now they sit just two points away from top six.
00:37Middlesbrough, meanwhile, dropped down to 13th place in the Championship,
00:41a far cry from the playoff place they held just a few weeks ago before their string of defeats in a row in the league.
00:49Liam Manning after the game was very pleased with his side's performance
00:52and especially pleased for George Earthy who scored the Robins two goals that won them the game.
00:58For Bristol City, now it is a case of getting into the playoff places and into the top six.
01:04They've got themselves extremely close with a lot of good wins over the last few weeks,
01:08but now they must capitalise on this current form and make their current points total count for something in the Championship this season.
01:17It would be a real shame if they didn't, but they are showing the capabilities not only to win,
01:21but to come back when they are facing adversity as they did against Borough in this Friday night game at Ashton Gate.
01:29Middlesbrough, though, things are looking rough on Teesside for Michael Carrick.
01:35Bristol Rovers, however, lost their lead in League One against Northampton Town.
01:40Bristol Rovers, meanwhile, well, they lost 2-1 away at Northampton Town,
01:45a side who sit just above them now in the League One table.
01:49Bristol Rovers were pretty much level or thereabouts with them going into the game,
01:54but the win has now seen Northampton Town move above them in the league
01:58and condemn Bristol Rovers to being sat 19th place in League One.
02:03It simply just wasn't good enough for Inigo Calderon's side,
02:06although they did take the lead just after half-time thanks to Scott Sinclair finding the back of the net.
02:13But then it was Northampton Town who came back to win the game.
02:17Dara Costello got Northampton Town's side back into the fixture at 1-1 with the hour being played
02:25before Nesta Guinness Walker sealed the win with 12 minutes of normal time left for Northampton Town.
02:33Really disappointing for Bristol Rovers after what has been some good form at home of late,
02:38but their away form continues to let them down and has continued to keep them within that relegation battle.
02:45A win against Northampton would have done them wonders,
02:47but unfortunately they are now still sitting just three points above the relegation zone in League One
02:52and still looking quite precarious in the league table,
02:55which is not good at all for their hopes of staying up this season.
