Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and individuals providing aid to flood victims must do so through the State Disaster Management Committee, said Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

She said this was important to ensure smooth disaster management and efficient aid distribution, especially in areas cut off by floods.

00:35She cited examples of challenging locations like Bakenu and Sibuti in Miri,
00:40where even the Social Welfare Department faces difficulties delivering basic supplies such as tents due to high water levels.
00:48The Minister also emphasised the importance of proper victim registration through the Social Welfare Department.
00:55She highlighted that affected families are eligible for R1,000 in assistance,
