00:00Para sa ating sports banter makasama natin via Zoom, si Philippine Sports Commission Chairperson Richard Bachman para nagbigay ng update sa mga atletang Pilipino at ang mga nakalatag na events ng PSC.

00:23Magandang umaga po kay Daryl and Bernadette and to everyone supporting and watching PTV Sports.
00:30Thank you for having me.
00:32Chairperson, kung saan na po yung PSC knowing na this last quarter of 2024 napakarami pong sports events na dumaan at magaganap palang this coming December?
00:43Yes, this will be the busiest quarter for PSC.
00:48We just kakatapos lang ng Philippine Para PNG last week.
00:53Tapos this weekend po meron tayong Batang Pinoy which we will have close to 11,000 athletes and close to 3,000 coaches, 171 LGUs.
01:07And then by December 1, we also have the Bimpiaga Friendship Games.
01:14For your info, yung Bimpiaga Games stands for Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, East Asia Growth Area and Northern Territory Friendship Games.
01:26So this is an international event po.
01:29Chairperson, last week na nabanggit mo kakatapos nga lang po ng Philippine Para Games, Para National Games, and nagbalik po siya after ng pandemic.
01:40Kumusta naman po yung naging hosting po natin yung pagbalik po nitong Para Games?
01:44And any plans po of PSC to institutionalize itong games po natin for our para athletes?
01:51Yeah, this is my first time to experience yung Philippine Para Games.
01:58And we didn't have Para PNG in five years.
02:03So I would rate it a success na lahat ng mga atlet, para athletes were happy that it's back.
02:12And we started with nine sports.
02:16And hopefully by moving forward, we'll grow these sports.
02:20We will introduce also team sports like sitting volleyball and blind football in the future.
02:27And I would like to thank Phil Spada and PSC employees for making this an event a success po.
02:34Yes po Sir Richard, isang linggo na nga lang po bago ang pagsisimula ng Batang Pinoy 2024 at Bimpiaga sa Palawan.
02:43Kamusta na po ba yung paghahanda po natin para po dito?
02:47Yes, so far most of the PSC employees left for Puerto Princesa already.
02:55May mga atleta or LGUs na dumating mga aga.
02:59So everyone is there preparing.
03:01I'm just making sure yung mga sleeping mats arrive on time.
03:06Pero if it doesn't arrive on time, then we will purchase sleeping mats for our athletes who arrive early.
03:13Tapos papalitan namin ngayon mga pinurchase ng PSC.
03:17So far the numbers I'm getting is close to 12,000 athletes arriving and then close to 3,000 coaches arriving as well.
03:29And then we have 30 sports.
03:3230 sports that will be played in Batang Pinoy this year.
03:37And the new sports would be Jiu-Jitsu, Obstacle Course, and Kurash.
03:43And yung comebacking sport po will be the soft tennis will also be held in Batang Pinoy.
03:52Yes po Sir Richard, marami talaga tayong mga sports event ngayon taon.
03:56Pero sa susunod po na taon, 2025, ano po ba yung mga malalaking plano ng PSC for Philippine sports?
04:04Lalo na Desyembre gaganapin po ang SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games.
04:10Yes, so we just finished our budget hearings.
04:13Kumbaga sabay-sabay lahat, budget hearings, tapos yung mga events ng PSC.
04:17So for next year, I will be focused on the infrastructure projects in line.
04:21Now we have the construction of a seven-story athletes' dormitory.
04:26We also have a construction of a 12-story multi-sports training center.
04:31Rehabilitation upgrading of our facilities, our stadium, our baseball stadium.
04:37And also we have hostings next year.
04:40We have a lot of international hostings.
04:43We have the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
04:45We have the ASEAN Para Games in Thailand.
04:48We have the Asian Youth Para Games in Uzbekistan.
04:51We also have the ASEAN Winter Games in China.
04:55And we also have the hosting here in the Philippines, the FIBB Men's Volleyball World Championships.
05:02And the hosting of the FIFA Women's Futsal World Cup.
05:06Medyo konti lang for next year.
05:09Oo nga, chairman. Medyo konti nga lang pero napakaraman yan.
05:13Huling tanong nalang sa amin, Chairperson.
05:16Ano lang po yung minsay ng PSC para po sa ating mga bidang bayaning manalaro na araw-araw nag-training
05:23para i-represent yung Pilipinas sa mga international sports events at magbigay karangalan sa Pilipinas?
05:29My message would be the Philippine Sports Commission will continue to support our athletes
05:36from the grassroots level to the elite level.
05:38We had a very fruitful year, 2024.
05:42And hopefully, we can actually improve next year, all the leading towards the 2028 Olympics.

06:09Sobrang dami lang mga events hanggang next year.
06:12Pero tingin mo ba, teammate mo na dit, gano'ng kalaki yung papel, gano'ng alaga yung papel ng PSC
06:17to support our Philippine athletes in general?
06:19Malaking-malaki talaga. Kasi andami nating mga atleta na talagang nage-excel sila sa sports nila.
06:26And ngayon na meron ng platform para sa kanila, malaking opportunity to para mapakita nila yung kanilang galing.
06:33Balikan lang natin yung mga nabanggit ni PSC, no? Ni chairperson.
06:38Grabe yung sa Batang Pinoy, more than 11,000 athletes yung inaasahan na magpaparticipate doon.
06:45And 3,000 coaches. Malaking event po ito. And of course, 171 local government units yung kasapi para dito.
06:56At siyempre, hindi mawawala ang Philippine sports dyan sa Batang Pinoy abang hindi natin mamagaganap dyan sa Batang Pinoy.
07:01Yung ating mga grassroots athletes. Kaya huwag muna kayong bibitaw teammates dahil magbabalik pa ang Philippine sports.
