00:30The
00:57king of the wild is a monster half ape, half jungle man, which Harris the hunter has captured
01:03in Africa and trained to do his bidding. Harris and the monster are followed by an Arab. The
01:08seeming Arab is Robert Grant, a young American. Accused of a crime he did not commit, Grant
01:14has escaped from prison to find and convict the guilty man. His real identity is known
01:20only to Muriel Armitage, who is also in the jungle. Muriel is following a trail left by
01:27her brother Tom, who, while unconscious from a bullet wound, has been spirited away by
01:32agents of an Arab named Mustafa. Mustafa is trying to make Tom reveal the location of
01:38a rich diamond deposit, a secret which Harris is also trying to obtain. Harris is trailing
01:45those captors with the aid of his monster ape man, Bini, but has been forced to seek
01:50shelter in the crater of an extinct volcano to offend a pack of African warriors. The
01:56natives besieged the entrance, imprisoning Harris along with Muriel and Mrs. Colby, a
02:01secret service agent whose real identity is unknown to any of the party. Meanwhile, in
02:07Mustafa's camp, Grant believes that he has located Tom Armitage in a pit covered by a
02:12tent, but in reality, the occupant of this pit is a tiger.
02:42The jungle of this dangerous beast. May the wrath of Allah be on your head.
03:02Tom. Tom. This is Grant, a friend of your sister's. I'm going to try and get you out of here.
03:10Arrange to remove the body of this strange Arab from the tiger pit. I will go to this sick boy, and at the first sign of consciousness, force him to talk.
03:22Yes, Master.
03:27He's gone! He's gone!
03:32Imbecile! You have allowed the most valuable thing we have in camp to be spirited away!
03:38Master, we cannot be far. There was a segment over the tiger, and it's the area we must escape from the tent.
03:57Oh, God, what in the...
04:09Oh, God, what in the...
04:22The little rabble has no more of India.
04:26Take hold. Get all men to scour the jungle before he wander far. Bring him back, or you answer to Mustafa.
04:34Yes, Master.
04:55Help! Oh, somebody help me!
05:18How you happen to fall down there?
05:20I didn't fall. Somebody tripped me with a stick.
05:23Help! Muriel! Where are you? Help! Help! Muriel! Help me up!
05:30What you been doing, huh?
05:32What happened?
05:33How did you get here?
05:35Oh, when you didn't come back, I became so frightened, I followed along. I got as far as this when a man came running along and pulled me over.
05:45What kind of a man?
05:47Oh, he was a great big man. The only thing I noticed about him, he wore dark glasses.
05:53There must be somebody else here beside ourselves.
05:56Well, there's that prospective skeleton in there. You don't expect it to walk, do you?
06:01Well, when I was looking for another way out of the crater this afternoon, I saw a man's footprints in the mud.
06:07There must be a maniac running loose, and he's probably using this old volcano for a hideout. We've got to get out of here.
06:13But how are we going to get out with those cannibals guarding the only exit?
06:34I got an idea.
06:35You're free.
06:44They think it's going to work!
06:57The lions which lived in the cave are dead. The white witches who slew our king are within.
07:02Who will be brave enough to go in with me and bring them out?
07:05Who?
07:08Be not afraid. The matabela is master over everything in the jungle.
07:14Oh, my warriors.
07:17We'll find you.
07:20We'll find you.
07:23We'll find you.
07:25We'll find you.
07:26We'll find you.
07:28We'll find you.
07:30We'll find you.
07:32We'll find you.
07:34We'll find you.
07:36warriors. It is the soul of your dead king who speaks.
07:44Arm not these whites, for it was not they who struck me down.
07:51Name the one who did it. Name him. Oh master, so we may avenge your death.
07:57Return to your village, knowing that a worse fate than you could devise
08:02Awaits my murderer. Go.
08:22By Jango, I sure am glad that works. Bibby, come here.
08:32Don't be afraid. He won't hurt you, as long as I'm here.
08:41I don't trust him. He grabbed me when we were on board the ship the night Mrs. LaSalle was killed.
08:46You can't blame him for her death. Mrs. LaSalle was shot, and Bibby knows nothing about guns.
08:52I don't know who it was, but they sure are going to find out who killed my Helen.
09:02Which way, little banger? I'm going to get back to civilization.
09:14Well, I'm going to continue on the way taken by whoever it is that has my brother.
09:18Well, I guess I've had growing virtue. It's better that we travel together to the jungle
09:23for our own protection. First of his elements, then shipwrecks, then cannibals, then murder,
09:29then skeletons. My goodness, I'm afraid to think what's going to happen next.
09:48He disappeared. He's gone.
09:50Go ahead. That's been bad. They don't trust that house.
10:04What do you suppose has happened to him? They think he fooled us.
10:08He's been after that fellow Mustapha. Maybe he followed him to his camp.
10:12For goodness sakes, do something. Let's get out of here.
10:17That animal may have murdered him. He may come back after us.
10:21We shall go.
10:29Any sign of the boy? It is useless, Hildren. We have looked everywhere.
10:33It is an enemy of our master. Although we failed to find the sick boy,
10:49we may take care of the chief by capturing this man.
11:34Now, let's go.
11:54Phoebe!
11:55I think I see a chance to get some horses and make a getaway.
12:13You stay here and keep quiet till I come back. Do you understand?
12:55Yes, sir.
13:06Any news of the sick boy? No, master.
13:09You get another horse. Bring him to my tent.
13:19We have trailed far into the jungle and been in need of food and drink.
13:25Oh, what a hot country. First, I must see your chief.
13:32Mustapha? Yes, ma'am.
13:38Didn't you say Harris was going to head for Mustapha's camp?
13:42Yes, I did. It's funny that he followed me to this camp.
13:47Well, I want to get out of this country as fast as I can.
13:50Now, we eat first. Something will happen pretty soon now.
13:54I hope so.
14:12Ah, now is my day made perfect. It is the grace of Allah that brings
14:18such a charming lady to my camp. I'm Miss Armitage, and I've come to
14:24thank you for caring for my brother and to take him back to Lubanga.
14:29I do not understand. I am Mustapha.
14:35This is my camp, but there are no strangers here.
14:40I know positively that my brother has been here.
14:43May it please the master, the hunting party has returned,
14:46and hopes that what they have brought will meet with your favor.
14:51Excuse, please, this interruption. You wait in the comfort of my tent till I return.
15:03You will see that the young lady does not leave my tent.
15:07Yes, my Mustapha.
15:09Miss Armitage, will you please come closer so that I can talk without being heard by the others?
15:20This man, Mustapha, has been holding your brother prisoner.
15:24But why?
15:25Your brother knows the location of vast diamond fields,
15:28and Mustapha doesn't intend to release him until he learns the truth.
15:31I don't know.
15:32I don't know.
15:33I don't know.
15:34I don't know.
15:35I don't know.
15:36I don't know.
15:37I don't know.
15:38He will keep on releasing them until he learns where they are.
15:39Where is Tom now?
15:41We were getting ready to escape when you came into the camp.
15:43He's hiding in a competitive mouth, in that time over there.
15:52Inquisitive man, foolish master!
15:54I will save your life, killing you and bringing your final death, I want to see.
16:03Isn't it a mistake?
16:05We meet again.
16:06The last time we meet, I'll look at you from the ground when you make an enemy of Mustafa.
16:17That is bad.
16:21Bring the prisoner and follow me.
16:31I do know where the diamonds are.
16:33It would be dangerous for you if they found it out.
16:37Oh, I'll tell anything to get Tom out of the clutches of these people.
16:40It wouldn't do you any good.
16:42They'd hold you both until they found you were telling the truth, and then silence you forever.
16:47You stay here until I come back.
16:55Make sure that the white people who come to the camp do not leave.
16:58Yes, sir.
16:59Fill in the tiger pit so no one will know this strange Arab has been killed.
17:05Yes, sir.
17:28You fiend. You have him in that pit and you're covering him up.
17:32Oh, you know he's in the pit, huh?
17:35Yes, I do, and I know you're trying to force him to tell where he discovered a field of diamonds.
17:41If I gave you that information, would you stop torturing him?
17:45You... you do not know where the diamonds are.
17:49Would these convince you that I know?
17:52You alone can stop the men from filling in that pit.
17:57See where the diamond field is hidden, and the men will be ordered away.
18:04The strange beast, the tiger, is here.
18:06Stop all of you also following.
18:52All right.
18:53To protect my brother, I'll tell you where the diamonds are.
18:58Go back along the trail toward the Matabele village.
19:01There on the right of the trail, partly hidden behind some vines...
19:21To be continued...
