یاسمین انصاری، نخستین ایرانی-آمریکایی راه‌یافته به کنگره آمریکا به همراه جمعی از نمایندگان دموکرات برای جلوگیری تغییر نام «خلیج فارس»، «لایحه نام‌گذاری خلیج فارس» را به کنگره آمریکا آورد. این لایحه اکنون در کمیته امور خارجی مجلس نمایندگان در دست بررسی بوده و هنوز به تصویب نرسیده است.
