Woodstock Day Nursery in Worthing celebrates 25 years of home-from-home care for children
Transcript
00:0025 years. I really can't believe we've got that.
00:23We've got a little anniversary pair here for everyone to have before they go, so please
00:32make sure you collect one of those. It's been a difficult year for us this year. As you
00:38know, the government's changed the funding rules, and I know there's been a lot of ups
00:42and downs and questions, and we've had to bear in the way that we do charge. We're doing
00:48our very best to keep our fees reasonable, as low as we can to leave, but what we do
00:55want to do is continue to run the way that we run now. We want your children to have all
01:00the extras, the street dance, the drumming, the visits to the beach, the extra staff that
01:05we're able to bring to the nursery. And I think you'll agree that the staff team we've got
01:10here at the moment are pretty superb. So we certainly want to keep them. We have actually
01:17got 24 staff from the full-timers down to our band staff and our holiday staff. That's
01:23a lot of people to look after your children. Some of you I know have looked at the photographs
01:28that we've got along the tables here, and they're showing you the nursery from right back in 2000,
01:34and the state of the building, and how it was slowly rebuilt. This garden, it's taken years,
01:41but as you can see, the children thoroughly enjoy being out here, have a great time, and there's
01:47always something changing, like the sand pits just being repainted.
01:51So we're going to get to the family, and we're waiting for them. And in the future, we're going to
01:59get to the park again. So we have a little bit of a little bit of a big thing. There's
02:04a lot of other things about kids. From their kids, their kids have to be in the in the
02:07right place. The kids have to be in the right place. The kids have to be in the last couple of
02:12the families. The kids have to be in the same place or in the next couple of the poids. The kids
02:17The resource continues from when I started to now, nothing really has changed apart from
02:33numbers, the building and the stock. It's still a family filled nursery, your children
02:40get so much care and nursery and it's a fun, happy day for everyone to be.
02:46And that is because of what we've been in place originally of all those people around the
02:53years of that. And that's what I want to say, as well as the parents, the staff, I want to
03:00say thank you. It's a wonderful place to be.
