Surrey's coolest mayor, Brodie Mauluka, handed over his chains on Thursday. The bass-playing, always smiling, uber-cool publican reflected on his tenure during a packed Farnham Town Council meeting.

00:00It will be no easy task, following in the footsteps of someone so well-loved, respected, and let's be honest, so much fun.
00:11What struck me most about it was how many people knew Brodie and obviously liked him.
00:17Now it has to be said, having a man who plays in a band, his own band, taking part in events such as the Christmas Light Switch On and World Music Day, which was his idea, is seriously single rules.
00:29How many other councils have such a gifted mayor, or had such a gifted mayor?
00:34I really enjoyed being well from the day one. I don't know whether we'll get promoted in the schedule.
00:46Miracles didn't happen.
00:48It's not miracles, it's voodoo.
00:52I'm a gentleman. I'll give you that.
00:55And the other thing I would like to say is, to the charities I supported, please, please, I'm not going anywhere, I'll be there for you, if you need me, please, you know how to get hold of me, so that's his chalice prompt, and 40 degrees, I'll always be there for you.
01:17So, to you, George Murray, thank you very much for taking those chains, and to all the councillors and the staff here at the council office, thank you very much for your support, and please God bless you all. Thank you.
