00:00Matt Pedersen, unlike yesterday where the climbs were quite steep before the final drag to Matera,
00:10I don't think anybody will be dropped today unless the very guys who are not actually in shape as they're rolling off from the neutral.
00:19Yeah, and 227 kilometers, even by modern standards, is actually a very long stage.
00:25And just to make it even longer, the neutralized rollout today is almost 10 kilometers long.
00:29Yeah.
00:309.9 kilometers.
00:31That really is a very long stage today if you include these kilometers that they're about to ride through.
00:37I can't watch.
00:38He nailed it.
00:39But they'll be quick kilometers because it's pretty much downhill until the final few kilometers before the intermediate sprint.
00:46So it's Michel Rees, Bed Turner, Josef Czerny, Felix Engelhardt, Tarozzi.
00:47Once again, Manuel E. Tarozzi.
00:48Once again, Manuel E. Tarozzi.
00:49He was in the breakaway on stage one.
00:50And Lorenzo Fortunato.
00:51He was in the breakaway on stage one.
00:52And Lorenzo Fortunato.
00:53So Tarozzi will be accruing kilometers in La Fuga.
00:54It's a very long stage of the race.
00:55He's in the breakaway on stage one.
00:56And Lorenzo Fortunato.
00:57So Tarozzi will be accruing kilometers in La Fuga.
00:58but they'll be quick kilometers because it's pretty much downhill until the final few kilometers
01:06before the intermediate sprint so it's michelle reese pet turner joseph cherny felix engelhardt
01:13tarozzi once again manuel tarozzi he was in the breakaway on stage one and lorenzo fortunato
01:18so tarozzi will be accruing kilometers in la fuga prize the overall breakaway prize
01:24but other than that fortunato is the only rider to have featured in a breakaway
01:29napoli stage proves that you don't necessarily win when it's on the seaside what do you make of
01:37your first two experiences of sprinting in napoli yeah it's always a chaotic race super fast finish
01:44normally i'm familiar with the with the roads obviously but it hasn't gone my way the last
01:50two years but i'm looking forward to today it's a long day but uh yeah we see how we go
01:53do you feel better and better yeah i think it's uh maybe on the result sheet it's not uh obvious
02:01but i think yesterday i did a really good ride the team was super impressive and um yeah i was there
02:05until the final kilometers but uh in the end a little bit too hard so i take confidence from that
02:10feeling better and better each day
02:12um cj tend to fortunato probably for not a bit too eager on bridging back in the fastest way possible
02:27definitely eneos was were they were on a hunt for a breakaway today so uh the intention of
02:34hamilton is definitely closing the gap before the top of the hill but also spending as less as possible
02:40so do you feel like you are the defending champion today uh yeah maybe a little bit i think it's nice
02:49to go back there and uh yeah give it another shot is it a very nice stage finish for you yeah i think so
02:57i think uh yeah it's a nice fast finish uh it's something i like what's your memory from uh winning
03:04it how to win it yeah i think it's uh yeah like i said it's a fast uh last k down on the coast road and
03:11uh yeah uh with the slight bend you see the finish only at the very last moment so uh and the time is right
03:18so far so good for the slovenian six stages into the giro d'italia i can't think of a sketchy moment
03:26yet for him or a moment where he's looked in any kind of danger or trouble if he could have written
03:32the script for the first six days a little spell in the malia rosa for a 24-hour period handed over
03:38100 meters to go there's the arch in front for the malia ciclamino points i think taco van de hoorn
03:48by the looks of it is happy to allow the young frenchman to take the uh the cash prize and the
03:54maximum points there so peleni from taco van de hoorn ah here we are uh crash by uh jay colula and
04:02uh timino's grenadier seems uh the number i can't quite spot it might have been yes no it's zana
04:10it's at 58 yeah 158 is a philippo zana looks okay though doesn't he straight up i've seen the
04:16bentona hamilton oh definitely not it was a long history of um of cyclists uh lombardia depend on
04:25the on the province because like breccia bergamo you have a lot of um professional rider as well but
04:31a lot of teams and then to scanning as well it's a long tradition of of cycling as well
04:37second position oh crash at the back big crash a lot of riders down there around about 30 35 places
04:44behind the front of the bunch felt like half a dozen riders have gone down and at the back of
04:49the bunch as well same spot on the road so we've got bodies all over the place here tudor pro cycling
04:54they spring up and get to their feet again but a lot of damage here sudar quick step with a rider
05:01inos grenadiers there that's brandon rivera just uh gingerly getting to his feet but there's
05:06riders ahead of them who are down and down hard you can see riders on the ground yeah also somebody
05:11in the back we saw the um um oh doesn't look good
05:19coming strong involved as well
05:20uh adam yates as well adam yates yeah
05:28dergi as well there was involved back on the back red bull border hands go around staggering around
05:34that looked like it was daniel martinez that one oh going ahead this must be carapaz this must be
05:40carapaz the whole team is there he is giantly as well seems like on the ground richard carapaz
05:45oh this is awful to be should be sent track nick you look at the images they were were trying to
05:54stop from behind they knew there was a crash in front of them right is still on the ground yeah it
05:58looked like it was hindley off the back is also like spending way more energy compared to other riders so
06:04uh this might be a sign that he doesn't want to compete in the spring
06:16so the peloton are terrific so um i assume he might be uh he might be giving some relief oh look
06:24there we go that's a group off the back so that is it the question that we were asking ourselves um
06:29we've got a definitive answer maz pedersen has checked out for the day
06:33his malia rosa of course will be safe for the day there's no time gaps going to be awarded on the
06:38stage that weren't there when the race was halted hamilton though uh comes through and be interested
06:45to see whether that time gap stabilizes or goes out paleni doing a turn on the front tucker van der
06:51horne on his wheel those two need each other still to share the work as the camera sweeps back down the
06:57road not much is it it's not much now no on the road those 20 seconds doesn't look like much
07:03ups in the corner wow van art senses the danger van art then can he deliver the blow that is required
07:09van art goes off and koi allows him to go as well oh this is tight confusing a real change of the
07:15script as van art has to commit to this move or decide what he's going to do van art comes across to
07:20plowright and van art now committing to this move can van art hold them off wow van art doing what he does
07:26best it's party visit malta off with moschetti on his wheel hoping that this comes back van art though tying up
07:32it's not going to be his day van art will have to wait for another day pulti visit malta with lonadi and then
07:38uh moschetti here comes olaf koi the other card to play for visma lisa by looking for fighting for
07:44room alongside moschetti it's a dirty sprint koi sits up ken groves hits the front groves is going to take the win
07:50chaos at the line but the aussie got it right when it mattered and yet a fine climber really well really does survive the climbs normally
07:58yeah he was not at the at his best um in the in the very beginning of the jury said also in the
08:04interview was he was injured so it was not the ideal preparation but yesterday also i'm like already
08:10like getting better and better and this morning he was really confident he said i'm feeling better i'm
08:14today i feel like i can do it and you know despite all the chaos that uh that the crash sparked he did it
08:22so yeah yeah so confirmation that uh matteo moschetti as we we suspected he would be has been
08:28relegated from the top ten that moves the man he uh was deemed to have impeded up into the top ten so
08:34coy pops up in the top ten not that that's any consolation to olaf coy but yes perhaps tough on
08:40matteo moschetti but also not particularly surprising and he gets a yellow card as well so that'll hamper his
08:45sprints in the future justifiable do you think jacopo is it just a justifiable decision from the uci on
08:54this occasion i mean you can um as always like uh you know when when it comes to clashes you can see
09:00both sides i can see moschetti could say i i wanted i took the line to go on the left and and i hold my
09:06line while uh um coy from behind decided to there was gap enough to go so you can look either way you know
09:12what i mean and now we probably have another um so what i mean you see now he moves already what
09:18you've got to watch is the line between moschetti and the barriers but you see he look he looks up
09:23here he's not looking down and he's moving already on the left remember this was a gentle kern a gentle
09:28bend to the left and i don't think he's moving actually it's that moment there though isn't it
09:35potentially it's just loss of balance when he goes back i think this a bit more he was probably
09:40sanctioned for the second movement alpha i think it was it was it was because he lost balance the
09:45second time he got a contact with koya first time and then he lost balance at the second time so
09:50i think on balance that is probably the correct decision on this occasion
09:56as hard as that might be for matteo moschetti
