01:00Good evening and welcome to Five Live, I'm Pooja Shalhi, thank you for tuning in.
01:04It's a special telecast.
01:05I'm going to focus on Pakistan but also who is supporting Pakistan.
01:11Betrayed despite the kindness that India offered to Turkey.
01:14More and more, first the headlines.

01:24after the 10th May strikes, reiterates PM's message on terror talks cannot go together.
01:30Adds only discussion that will happen on Kashmir will be of POJK.

01:48Pakistan.
02:02India's terror hunt up close, the final assault on the Pulwama terror hideout all on camera.
02:08Six out of 14 terrorists in the latest hit list of armed forces have been neutralized.
02:13They were given an option and a chance to surrender, they refused and that's when forces
02:18went for the kill.
02:23Former Pentagon official debunks Trump's mediation claim, says scared Pakistan ran like a dog
02:28with tail between legs.
02:32You ask Donald Trump, he single-handedly won the World Cup, he invented the internet,
02:39he cured cancer.
02:41The fact of the matter is, Indians should be more like Americans in this regard and
02:47not take Donald Trump literally.
03:13Our top story on Five Live this evening comes from Turkey via Pakistan, the same country
03:18that India sent immediate assistance to when they were affected by a devastating earthquake
03:24in 2023.
03:25Remember, India did not think twice about helping Turkey at that point.
03:30Today, President Erdogan has assured support to Pakistan and not just simple support, a
03:36sort of brotherhood that he has come out and said no emotional losses can deter him and
03:41his government.
03:42Shocked and angry, in turn, Indian tourists have said, if that is Turkey's response, we
03:47boycott Turkey and Azerbaijan.
03:51Watch this report to help understand what's happening.
03:57In a shocking show of support, Turkey has reaffirmed that it backs Pakistan despite repercussions.
04:05Despite mass cancellations of booking to Turkey and Azerbaijan by Indian tourists, Turkish
04:10President Erdogan has reiterated his support to Pakistan, saying that Turkey has and will
04:16stand with Pakistan against India, whatever the repercussions be.
04:21He added that no economic losses will deter Turkey to stand with its Muslim brother, Pakistan.
04:29The nefarious terror attack or with the missile attack against Pakistan, we had a very clear
04:38stance.
04:40We expressed our support to the Pakistani public.
04:48Despite India's recent earthquake assistance and growing engagement with Ankara, Turkey
04:53has sided with its all-weather ally, Pakistan.
04:56And Erdogan's stance has caused massive outrage in India.
05:01The chorus to boycott Turkish products is hitting fever pitch.
05:05The anti-national activities that Turkey has done with Pakistan, there will be a message
05:12that if such activities are carried out against India, not only the government, but the business
05:17leaders here are also fully supportive of the government.
05:19I boycott all Turkey's products.
05:22I have no interest in keeping any of their products.
05:25Those that are not with our country, we are not with them.
05:31Indian tourists are shunning Turkey and another Pakistan ally, Azerbaijan.
05:36Hundreds of Indian tourists are cancelling their trips to the two countries.
05:40The number of Indian tourists to Turkey has jumped over the last few years.
05:45But within last one week, the bookings to Istanbul have reduced by 60 percent and cancellations
05:51have surged by over 250 percent.
05:55They are standing on the wrong side.
05:58And their standing on that side is related to their ideology, is related to their being
06:02an Islamic country.
06:04And they are also supplying drones to Pakistan.
06:08As our honourable PM has said, water and blood cannot flow together.
06:13Similarly, water, blood and trade should not flow together.
06:19India has long had trade ties with Turkey.
06:22It had stood by the crisis-hit nation during the 2023 earthquake, launching Operation Dost
06:29and supplying relief material to tide over the humanitarian crisis.
06:33Turkey, in return, has supplied drones to Pakistan.
06:37But the nationwide outrage, the drop in sales of Turkish products and the sharp decline
06:42in visits to Ankara are all clear indications that Indians have refused to turn a blind
06:48eye to Turkey's all-out support to Pakistan.
06:51Bureau report India Today.
07:00India Today's big exclusive.
07:01This is coming up with regard to, to help you understand that Turkey wasn't just speaking
07:06in support of Pakistan.
07:08We now expose and reveal how Turkey was helping Pakistan target India during Operation Sindhu
07:17when India was trying to defend itself, respond against civilian attacks.
07:22Turkey was helping Pakistan as well.
07:25And I tell you, in a short while, what exactly am I talking about?
07:29Our sources have revealed to India Today that Pakistan government got drones from Turkey's arsenal.
07:36Can you believe it, ladies and gentlemen?
07:38From Turkey's arsenal, from Turkey's inventory, it was Pakistan receiving drones to strike
07:44at India when India's civilian densely populated areas were facing attacks, which thankfully,
07:50successfully were repulsed.
07:51Our defense systems were in place.
07:53Our armed forces did the job to ensure our civilians are protected in cities.
07:57Our strategic assets are protected.
07:59What Turkish operators guiding the drones was Turkey ensuring that Pakistan in its arsenal
08:06has drones from Turkey, their own specific inventory and arsenal?
08:12Because with debris found in Punjab and J&K as well, a lot of questions are being asked right now.
08:18This is huge.
08:19This is a big exclusive.
08:21And bringing us that big news is India Today's managing editor, Gaurav Sawant.
08:26Gaurav, it is shocking because one would think it's just political support.
08:30But it looks like that during Operation Sindhu, when Pakistan was targeting us,
08:35it was with Turkey's support.
08:39This indeed is true.
08:41In fact, right from the time that Pahalgam terror attack took place and Prime Minister
08:46Narendra Modi issued a stern warning that there would be action that would be taken
08:50not just against terrorists, but their backers.
08:52Turkey started arming Pakistan in a big way, including, according to sources,
08:57give out some of the drones that were in service of their armed forces from their personal inventory.
09:04And a lot of these drones, so whether these were the high altitude, long endurance drones,
09:10the medium altitude, long endurance drone, known as male and male drones,
09:15they gave them the Biractors.
09:17And along with that, they also gave their Songar quadcopters that they're capable of firing,
09:21not just their grenade launchers, but also machine guns.
09:27So they use both for surveillance and for tactical assault.
09:31That's one part of the story.
09:33Second part of the story, Pakistan did not know how to operate some of these drones.
09:37Of course, for maintenance of equipment, for operational assistance,
09:41there are operators who are present on ground, whether it's Chinese operators or Turkish operators,
09:46they're present on ground.
09:48Intelligence officials seem to indicate that some of these Turkish operators
09:52were actually operating those drones that were used to target civilians in India,
09:56which has been a crying shame for the fact that when there was a massive earthquake in Turkey
10:02and the country was in trouble, especially the southern part of the country,
10:06I was reporting from ground zero in Turkey.
10:08Yes, you were there.
10:09And that time, Indians very open-heartedly helped the people of Turkey.
10:14Even now, a large number of Indians go there for vacations, for holiday,
10:18and they play a very significant role in the economy of reviving the economy of Turkey.
10:24But Turkey wants our money, but it wants to continue killing us through Pakistan.
10:29And this is the most unfortunate aspect that has worried a lot of Indians
10:34and that's led to a lot of anger in India.
10:36We, in a way, are funding our own killings.
10:41The manner in which Indians go enjoy their vacations in Turkey,
10:44and Turkey arms Pakistan, and then Pakistan uses the same drones to kill us.
10:49So it's an amazing situation.
10:51According to your experience and understanding,
10:54what is the reason you feel that Turkey would betray India like that?
10:58Is this an Islamic affiliation, a Muslim brotherhood? Is this geopolitics?
11:03Do they want to ensure that with Pakistan is not just friendship,
11:06but possibly investments as well?
11:08What is your understanding of this?
11:10So, Pakistan is a basket case. Nobody wants to invest in Pakistan.
11:14But, you know, that other issue that you raised is very pertinent.
11:18In fact, there was a conspiracy at one point of time,
11:21and Saudi Arabia was very miffed with this conspiracy.
11:23Countries like Turkey, Pakistan, and Malaysia,
11:26they tried to come together for alternate, as they claimed,
11:30the evolved Muslims against what Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates,
11:35and the rest of the Islamic world was doing.
11:37And Erdogan sees himself as some new caliph.
11:40He wants to revive that so-called Ottoman Empire.
11:43So he tied up with the Imran Khan of Pakistan,
11:46and with the leadership in Malaysia.
11:48And several years ago, they actually tried to come up with a new theory of evolved Islam.
11:55As against the Islam that they claimed was being propagated through Saudi Arabia.
12:01They did not want Mecca to be the center.
12:04Turkey wanted Istanbul to be seen as the center.
12:08And Constantinople.
12:10So his aim is to revive that Constantinople, Ottoman Empire,
12:14kind of an image of Turkey once again.
12:16And is using countries like Pakistan and Malaysia.
12:19India very clearly read out the right act to Malaysia,
12:22refused to take palm oil from them,
12:24and some of that, certain other measures that were taken at that point of time,
12:28set Malaysia on the right track.
12:30However, Pakistan remains a basket case for the entire world.
12:34And India very clearly has articulated,
12:36any conversation with Pakistan will only be on the return of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
12:40Indus waters treaty remains held in abeyance with Turkey.
12:44Now it remains to be seen what the people of our country do,
12:47whether they continue to go to Turkey for a vacation,
12:50or boycott that country completely.
12:52And imagine Turkey supporting a terror backer nation like that of Pakistan,
12:56even for the kind of access it wants to hold.
12:58But, incredible information that you've brought to us Gaurav,
13:01thank you very much for now.
13:03And there is a reason therefore,
13:05that Indian, and Indian tourists I mean,
13:07some of them, have cancelled their vacations, holidays to Turkey for a reason.
13:13And don't think that it will not have an impact,
13:15because I want to take you through the numbers.
13:17Why are Indian, Indian tourists angry,
13:19at how Turkey came out in such blatant support to Pakistan at a juncture like this?
13:24Ladies and gentlemen, India's exports to Turkey stands at 6.65 billion dollars in 23-24.
13:32India's imports from Turkey, 2.84 billion dollars in 20-23 and 24.
13:38So basically you can see that even though India's exports were much more,
13:41we wanted to maintain trade with Turkey.
13:44And this is all in official information.
13:46Could this now suffer a setback?
13:48So now let me tell you about the tourists.
13:50Indians visiting Turkey in 2024, in just one year,
13:543,30,985.
13:57This is a big number.
13:59As I quote from the news reports,
14:01how many Indians possibly entered into Turkey for a vacation?
14:05Over 3 lakh, easily.
14:06What does that mean?
14:07In terms of money, in terms of their spending towards Turkey's economy?
14:13350 to 400 million dollars in just 23-24 that was spent in Turkey.
14:20That much amount.
14:22And remember, if we start with cancellations now,
14:24which are also being reported in high numbers,
14:26that clearly shows it will have an impact.
14:29Indian tourists did it with Maldives, remember.
14:32There was clearly a consequence of it, and for Turkey as well.
14:35We believe Turkey was a friend,
14:37but it believes Pakistan really is its best ally.
14:42Amid all of this, but the big question comes in,
14:45it's not just political diplomatic support,
14:47it's not just about a statement.
14:48They were providing drones to Pakistan.
14:51Remember, India launched Operation Dost,
14:54that's what we named, Operation Friend,
14:56for Turkey in 2023 after the earthquake.
14:59Our army personnel was sent there,
15:01our medical equipment were transferred immediately
15:04to our Turkey special camps.
15:07Military hospitals were set up on a temporary emergency basis
15:11to help the people of Turkey.
15:13India was among the first responders.
15:15We didn't think twice before reaching out
15:18to ensure that people of Turkey get immediate help.
15:21It was a devastating earthquake in 2023.
15:23But when I say assistance, means what?
15:26India sent 250-plus rescue and medical personnel
15:30from the armed forces, from the civil defense, and more.
15:33That's not it.
15:34We deployed six C-17 aircrafts with aid and equipment,
15:38and these were, remember, not just once or twice.
15:40They were constant to-and-fro sorties that were done.
15:43India set up a field hospital for critical surgeries as well
15:47to save the life of people of Turkey.
15:50What did Pakistan do, remember?
15:52Primarily promise, if required,
15:54they will be ready to provide assurance.
15:56And this is what we are watching in turn right now.
15:59I want to bring in Shivani Sharma for the latest on that.
16:02Shivani, I would want to know why possibly Erdogan
16:05would bring that support to Pakistan,
16:07but there's no clear, specific reason as modern nations.
16:11It's all rhetoric that's now coming to surface.
16:14But tell me about this.
16:15When you hear of Indian tourists boycotting it,
16:17raising outrage over it, what do you make of that?
16:20It's a justified anger, isn't it?
16:26Certainly, Pooja, this is a justified anger.
16:28We've been getting and putting out all those reports
16:30from Pan India where the Turkish items are being boycotted
16:35and people are high on sentiment.
16:38They are angry with Turkey.
16:40India has been giving profits of millions of dollars
16:44every year through tourism, other trade also.
16:47But now, when it has been exposed that Turkey
16:50has been openly helping Pakistan
16:52in its act against Indian civilians, the anger is on.
16:56And remember, this is only what is going by the public sentiment.
16:59The government has not yet announced a statement
17:03or announced any action against Turkey.
17:05That too is also, we are on a standby for that purpose.
17:10But still, as India is deciding,
17:12as we've been getting voices of the tourism industry,
17:15the jewellery industry for that matter,
17:17the apple industry, the furniture industry,
17:20so all those, they have stopped and put a ban on Turkish products,
17:24import and export, everything.
17:26So this is bringing out that emotion and sentiment of Indian public.
17:29Do you think that it makes an impact for the viewer watching right now,
17:33thinking, will that number, will it really make an impact,
17:36a change, a consequence, will it make Turkey think?
17:43Certainly it will make an impact.
17:45It has already started making an impact on Turkey.
17:47It is certainly feeling that pressure and push from India's,
17:53that cut in the economy that India is now implicating.
17:57People have already cancelled their bookings that were there for Turkey,
18:01for Azerbaijan also for that matter.
18:03So that impact is already falling on Turkey.
18:05So we will in the coming days see more impact on Turkey
18:10for helping Pakistan, which is actually affecting
18:13and trying to damage Indian and attack the civilians in India
18:18for no reason and supporting that terror nexus inside Pakistan.
18:23So it's very clear that Turkey is going to feel that pinch
18:27of actually backstabbing India.
18:29India that had been helping Turkey while it was in the time of need.
18:36Shivani, stay on with me.
18:37It's not just Turkey, sadly.
18:39Another country that's come to support Pakistan
18:41and I want to take that big news coming in.
18:43Let's take a look.
18:44And this is Shehbaz Sharif, boasting about it.
18:47Pakistan Prime Minister.
18:49He's taken to social media site.
18:51XNI mentions here about what he has said.
18:53Spoke to my dear brother.
18:55He's referring to Azerbaijan's president, Ilham Aliyev.
18:59This afternoon, conveying my profound gratitude to him
19:03for Azerbaijan's resolute support to Pakistan.
19:06Now, Azerbaijan hasn't said as much,
19:08but basically this is Shehbaz Sharif stating,
19:10and I quote him here,
19:11the overwhelming support of the people
19:13and leadership of Azerbaijan demonstrating to the world
19:16that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are true brothers.
19:19We discussed bilateral partnership
19:20through enhanced Azerbaijani investment in Pakistan,
19:23reiterating my invitation to the president
19:26to visit Islamabad at the earliest convenience.
19:30Can you believe it?
19:31At this juncture, perhaps it's good to know for India,
19:33at a juncture like this, when we clearly needed friends,
19:37especially who we have helped in the past few years,
19:40to come forth and at least express solidarity and support.
19:43Instead, standing with a terror back of Pakistan
19:45that shelters and hosts a Jaish-e-Mohammad,
19:48a Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Hezbollah Mujahideen,
19:51cannot save its own people,
19:52needs to go beg the International Monetary Fund
19:55for a $2 billion bailout
19:57that has already happened 28 times in 35 years,
20:00and yet depends on that money.
20:02This is at a time when they are sponsoring to rebuild
20:06the Markaz-e-Taiba and Markaz-e-Subhanallah
20:08in Bahawalpur and Muridke.
20:10It's a reminder that Pakistan otherwise says
20:12it needs help, it needs friends, it has nothing, no money,
20:14but somehow there's always money
20:16to rebuild and ensure protection and security
20:19to the terror outfits.
20:20But at a juncture like this,
20:21when Erdogan says we are true brothers,
20:24no economic losses will deter us,
20:26when there is Azerbaijan, at least from Pakistan's side,
20:29to say Azerbaijan is a true brother and a friend.
20:32Are we looking at changing geopolitics here?
20:35India always been kind,
20:37following the civilizational theory
20:40of Vasudev Kutumbakam,
20:42only to watch in times like these,
20:45for an Azerbaijan, for a Turkey
20:48to then offer support to Pakistan.
20:51This is very significant,
20:52this is Shehbaz Sharif boasting about
20:54how Pakistan and Azerbaijan are true brothers,
20:56they've had discussions on Azerbaijani investment,
21:00and of course, they stand with each other at this point.
21:04This is important to remember for India,
21:06even though these two nations have come out in support,
21:09but Azerbaijan apart,
21:11what really pushed Turkey to take this stand?
21:14And that's something that perhaps, of course,
21:16our experts and advisors in the government will be looking at,
21:18that's the big news coming in,
21:20that at least Pakistan is boasting about
21:22its support coming in from Azerbaijan.
21:24Remember at the time,
21:25Azerbaijan and Romania were already involved in a conflict.
21:29India took a very cautious position
21:31when it came to that conflict as much.
21:33Right now, Azerbaijan's support for Pakistan is for all to see.
21:37This is where both Azerbaijan, which is Baku basically,
21:40where a lot of Indian tourists have started to visit
21:42in the past few years.
21:43Istanbul, a beautiful city,
21:45however, now we realize that at this juncture,
21:48Indian tourists are reporting cancellations
21:51toward Turkey, especially to Istanbul,
21:54and other cities as well,
21:55and that is reflective of perhaps the times to come.
21:59Indian tourists by themselves,
22:01remember that's not a government directive,
22:03people by themselves are taking a decision on that.
22:12But I want to give you a big update that has come in,
22:14despite everything that Pakistan has done,
22:17and has faced damage on its bases,
22:20on its terror targets,
22:22Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif
22:25tried to do what Prime Minister Modi did,
22:27which is visit a base.
22:28Now you would think an air base, ideally,
22:30any military base,
22:32after Prime Minister Modi visited and landed
22:34at Adampur Air Base to show everything
22:36is fully functional in operation.
22:38Prime Minister of Pakistan attempted the same,
22:40in turn, is getting brutally trolled on social media,
22:43and I'll tell you why, it's for all to see,
22:45it's not very difficult.
22:46He was accompanied by the Army Chief General Asim Mone,
22:49instead of showcasing real military strength,
22:52Shahbaz Sharif took a road drive,
22:56doesn't make sense, to an air base,
22:59and then simply stood on top of a military tank,
23:02when we're talking about offensive power of the Air Force,
23:05and then said, Pakistan is claiming victory
23:08for the damage to the bases, in this report.
23:20After the successful execution of Operation Sindoor,
23:23Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday,
23:26visited the Adampur Air Base in Punjab,
23:28quashing all baseless Pakistani claims
23:31that the base had been hit.
23:34While lauding the bravery of Indian forces,
23:36Prime Minister Modi showcased the S-400 missile system,
23:40falsely claimed by Pakistan to have been destroyed.
23:45While India celebrates a real victory,
23:47Pakistan is busy celebrating a fake one.
23:51With Pakistan's air bases damaged by Indian strikes,
23:54Prime Minister Sharif was unable to fly.
23:57Instead of using an aircraft, he had to travel by jeep
24:00to reach the so-called military base,
24:02or what remains of that.
24:07Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif
24:09and Army Chief General Asim Mone
24:11were brutally trolled for copying Prime Minister Modi
24:14and visiting Pakistani military sites a day later.
24:24If you plan again, you will get us ready.
24:27And if you think of attacking again,
24:30then whatever is left of you will be finished.
24:35While Prime Minister Modi visited Adampur Air Base
24:38to boost soldier morale and celebrate
24:40the success of Operation Sindoor,
24:42Shahbaz Sharif toured Pasroor and Sialkot air bases,
24:46making false claims of victory
24:48under Operation Bunyan al-Marsus.
24:50Peddling propaganda, Shahbaz Sharif
24:52stood in front of a few hundred soldiers
24:54and a couple of tanks,
24:56claiming Pakistan had defeated India
24:58and calling it revenge for the 1971 war.
25:02But despite Sharif's best efforts to spread lies,
25:05the internet was quick to call him out,
25:07trolling the Pakistani establishment
25:09with brutal precision.
25:12While India has been exposing Pakistan of its bluff,
25:16Pakistan is just becoming a leader
25:18Pakistan is just becoming a laughing stock in the world.
25:21This is Shivani Sharma with Cameraperson Manish Biduri
25:24for India Today from New Delhi.
25:29So I thought let's make a quick comparison
25:31about Prime Minister Modi visiting the Adampur Air Base
25:34about two days ago and then comes in
25:36Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
25:38Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Base
25:41in Punjab that Pakistan had claimed
25:43they have completely destroyed and damaged.
25:46So Prime Minister Modi then decided
25:48to land a C-130 Hercules,
25:50a super Hercules aircraft,
25:52and at the base, which basically means
25:54ATC is functional, airbase is functional,
25:56and then goes to meet the air warriors on the ground.
26:01Shahbaz Sharif's location
26:03was clearly far away from an airbase.
26:06There was no airfield that,
26:08in many ways, the airbases that India has hit,
26:11more than nine.
26:12He could have chosen any of the airbases
26:14that India has claimed to have hit,
26:16but instead, he chose what looked like,
26:19to me, honestly, a field, a maidan,
26:21not a military base.
26:23Prime Minister Modi had landed, again,
26:25like I mentioned, a huge military aircraft.
26:27Interestingly, Pakistan Prime Minister
26:30traveled and drove in a Jeep,
26:33like it's a safari in a sanctuary,
26:36to address the Pakistan security personnel.
26:38Why not choose an airbase?
26:40Why not land on an airbase
26:41to show everything is fully functional
26:43and operational?
26:45Prime Minister Modi, remember,
26:47when he was speaking,
26:48in the background was the S-400 air defense system,
26:51the surface-to-air missile system,
26:53MiG fighter jets.
26:54The messaging here was Pakistan claimed
26:56all of this was destroyed.
26:57Here it was in the background,
26:59fully functional and shown
27:00when the Prime Minister was speaking.
27:02Pakistan had falsely claimed it was destroyed.
27:04It wasn't.
27:05On the other side,
27:06Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif
27:08posing with army tanks.
27:10But Pakistan army,
27:12the Indian army as much,
27:14played no role with tanks
27:16in Operation Sindhur
27:17or its response.
27:18Why were there these tanks camouflaged?
27:21And he's standing on top of one of these
27:22to show that and claim that there is victory.
27:25This is hilarious, to say the least.
27:27I want to bring in India Today's managing editor,
27:29Gaurav Sawant, on this.
27:30Gaurav, tell me what comparison,
27:33when you make,
27:34how do you look at the differences
27:36between the two?
27:37He's trying to show everything is okay.
27:39What are some of the peculiar notifications
27:42that you have picked on from these visuals?
27:45You know, the question you asked is
27:47why didn't they go to an airbase?
27:49Because all their airbases have been bombed
27:52and hammered by Indian,
27:55whether it's the BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles
27:57or some of the other military hardware
27:59that's been used.
28:00Clearly, they can't go to an airbase.
28:02Where would they have gone?
28:03The closest boat for General Asim Munir
28:06and Shahbaz Sharif from Islamabad and Rawalpindi
28:09would have been the Noor Khan airbase.
28:11But Noor Khan airbase,
28:12instead of giving them pride,
28:14will give them deep despair
28:16the manner in which India was able to strike so deep
28:19inside Pakistan at Rawalpindi,
28:22right next to Islamabad, their capital.
28:24So it's humiliation for them, point one.
28:27This effort, very, very desperate effort
28:29on the part of Pakistanis to keep their morale high.
28:32And it's almost impossible for a defeated army
28:35to keep its morale high in 21st century
28:38when two nuclear-powered countries
28:40face off with each other.
28:42The manner in which India has hammered Pakistan,
28:45this is a hammering Pakistan will not forget
28:47for a very long time.
28:48What Pakistan does, of course, score in
28:51is misinformation and disinformation,
28:53which it did even in 1971 and 65.
28:56Because in Pakistani textbooks,
28:58they're a 5,000-year-old civilization
29:00and they won every war against India.
29:03And the earth is flat.
29:04So in all of this, in all of this,
29:06and these are facts, this is taught to Pakistanis.
29:09So, you know, when the DNA is so warped in such a way,
29:13you just move forward.
29:14Can they fight a war?
29:15Warfighting requires military capabilities.
29:19A proper country cannot fight a war, point one.
29:22And that too, when it's surviving on dole and arms,
29:24their radars were taken out.
29:26India's operations were meticulous,
29:28systematic, and for effect.
29:30That just shows how a professional armed forces work.
29:33They first targeted nine terror bases,
29:36including headquarters in Muridke and Bahawalpur.
29:38That was the first heart attack for Pakistan.
29:41A heart attack because you can't strike.
29:44That was the convention
29:45that you can't strike in the heart of Pakistan's Punjab province.
29:48You may strike anywhere.
29:49POJK, KPK, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all of that is okay.
29:54But here, Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
29:56what sources are telling me,
29:57cleared a strike on Bahawalpur and Muridke.
30:02The biggest slap across the face
30:04of Pakistan's military terror complex, point one.
30:07Point two, if I may,
30:09after that, our DGMO called up the Pakistani DGMO
30:12and said, this is what we've done.
30:14We advise you not to escalate.
30:16Then they escalated.
30:17Once they escalated,
30:19India then took out their radar bases.
30:22Any sensible army would have wargamed this.
30:25And it just shows the Chinese equipment collapsed.
30:29It failed.
30:30It cannot protect itself.
30:31Imagine a Chinese honky radar that cannot protect itself.
30:35How will it protect Pakistani airspace in Lahore
30:38or around Lahore?
30:39Pakistan still did not learn its lesson.
30:41It thought it will escalate.
30:43It's like a drug addict playing that poker game.
30:45You know, addicted to drugs or gamble.
30:47They continue to gamble.
30:49It wasn't tactics on their part.
30:50They were gambling that India will not escalate.
30:52What they didn't realize is that Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
30:55the service chiefs, the NSA,
30:56the external affairs minister, defense minister,
30:58they'd all wargamed this.
31:00Maybe five levels even ahead, you know,
31:03in that escalation ladder.
31:04So when they still tried to escalate,
31:07India then went and hit 13 airbases
31:10across the length and breadth of Pakistan.
31:12Of course, leaving some scope that if you escalate further,
31:15we will hit the remaining airbases.
31:17That just goes on to show that that country's morale
31:20has now hit rock bottom.
31:22And that is why they're standing on tanks,
31:24trying to, you know, say whatever,
31:26Pakistan ki jai or whatever they may want to say.
31:28But there is no jai jai kaar in defeat.
31:30They also know it.
31:32Gaurav, in fact, I'm glad that Pakistan leaders
31:34are giving those interviews.
31:36They are doing these theatrics.
31:38It's only exposing them further
31:40and with hope to the world as well.
31:42Thank you very much for now.
31:43Gaurav Sawant with all the details on that.
31:45I have some big news coming in.
31:46Let's take a look at that.
31:49
31:55The Indian Army Chief appreciating the troops
31:57for operational brilliance during Operation Sindhu.
32:00In a stirring tribute to the valor and professionalism
32:02of the Indian soldiers, General Upendra Devedi,
32:04Chief of the Army Staff,
32:06visited forward areas in Srinagar, Uri,
32:10other areas as well,
32:11and to personally congratulate and motivate the troops
32:14because, remember, many of these unknown soldiers
32:17ensured civilians were protected,
32:19strategic assets were protected,
32:21and, of course, at a time we did lose our brave hearts as well.
32:24It's a reminder of the kind of seamless coordination,
32:27multiple threat vectors,
32:29that our soldiers have been a part of.
32:31So, General Devedi,
32:32commending the valor, josh, that's always been high
32:35and dominating the line of control.
32:37So, that's the latest shabashi that has come in.
32:40Look at that.
32:41That's the image on your screen
32:43that when the Army Chief himself lands up
32:45in different locations, either forward areas,
32:48and therefore, right now, it is important.
32:50Indian Army's legacy of honor, remember,
32:52unwavering readiness to meet future challenges
32:54and with decisive force.
32:56At a time like this, remember,
32:58when Pakistan was creating tensions at the border,
33:01especially line of control, international border,
33:04it was the Indian Armed Forces,
33:06the Indian Army especially,
33:08apart from the offensive power of the Indian Air Force,
33:10it was the jawans, the officers on the ground,
33:13who were ensuring that our people are safe.
33:19The hunt is on for the Pehlgam terrorists.
33:21The armed forces across Jammu and Kashmir
33:23have intensified counter-terror ops
33:25across especially Kashmir Valley.
33:27Now, there has been a list with the security agencies.
33:29The latest updated list has about 14 terrorist names
33:32confirmed, out of which, in this high-priority list,
33:35six have been neutralized in the past 48 hours.
33:37Now, the three terrorists believed to be
33:39from the Jaish-e-Mohammad,
33:41who were killed in Tral this morning.
33:43Three have been from the Lashkar-e-Taiba,
33:45who were neutralized about 24 hours ago.
33:48India Today has exclusively accessed drone videos,
33:51the last moments of the terrorists,
33:53the moment before he was neutralized.
33:55Because, remember, this has to be identified, confirmed,
33:58and that's when the security agencies,
33:59the armed forces were sure of the identity
34:02and the clarity of the terrorists.
34:03They went for the kill.
34:04Drone footage captures these dramatic visuals on the screen.
34:07This is from the encounter site.
34:08You can hear in the background the gunfire.
34:10Sound echoing in the background.
34:12Big fume of smoke from what clearly looks like
34:15a residential area,
34:16and that highlights intensity of the operation as well.
34:19But this is important.
34:20These are evidence that the security forces have
34:23about the terrorists with arms and ammunition
34:26misusing residential areas,
34:28because they believe that that's not where
34:30the armed forces would come.
34:31But right now, armed forces are on such an alert,
34:34they have gone for the kill in this area as well.
34:37All of this is a strategy also, remember,
34:39to dismantle terror infrastructure
34:41where they misuse civilian areas to launch terror attacks.
34:45Three Lashkar-e-Taiba suspected terrorists
34:47yesterday eliminated in Shopia, remember.
34:49These two encounters are very crucial.
34:51Because, remember, as we hit Bahawalpur and Muridke,
34:54Jaish and Lashkar, terror operational centers,
34:57the terror outfits will want to escalate the situation
35:00further in Kashmir Valley.
35:03Security forces got specific information
35:06regarding the movement of terrorists in that area.
35:09Accordingly, cordon was laid off,
35:11and it led to the ensuing of encounter
35:15between security forces and hold-up terrorists.
35:17So far, we have observed few bodies of terrorists.
35:20Three bodies are observed.
35:22But operation is still going on at this moment.
35:25It will take some time to sanitize and conclude.
35:28So, identities and affiliation
35:32could only be divulged only after that.
35:34They would like to assert themselves,
35:36and I don't think there's a change
35:38in the Pakistani policy of terrorism right now.
35:41Though the cost and consequence of Pakistan
35:43supporting terrorism is much higher.
35:45They have to pay for it.
35:47And Pakistan's low-cost, high-effect war
35:50has actually become a high-cost, low-effect war.
35:52But the fact remains that the retribution will continue.
35:57All the plotting places of the Tel-Gon terror attack
36:00will be neutralized.
36:01Some of them are already neutralized,
36:03at least five or six have already been neutralized.
36:05They've been recognized, and these are retribution offs.
36:07So, these are basically two parts.
36:09One is inward retribution offs,
36:11and the aim is to bring in normalcy in Kashmir, basically.
36:15There was normalcy prevailing.
36:17Kashmir was flooded with tourists.
36:19It was peace.
36:20It was economic development taking place,
36:23and everything changed after Tel-Gon.
36:25I think we need to ensure inward
36:27that Kashmir is back on the economic development road.
36:30Education, employment, generation and things go on.
36:33And at the same time,
36:35the cost of Pakistan is raised so high
36:37that it does not cross our red lines again.
36:39I'm not saying that without Sindhu,
36:41terrorism will finish off.
36:43There is a big, big setback for Pakistan supporting terrorism.
36:46Pakistan supports terrorism.
36:47We should not call it a North-South attack.
37:00Kashmir is where this is building up.
37:02These are residential areas
37:04where these terrorists have managed a hideout.
37:06Tell me more about how the strategy of the armed forces
37:09is to ensure to go for the kill,
37:11but also not have collateral damage around.
37:19Well, Pooja, this is a typical Kashmir encounter.
37:22If we take a flashback
37:24and talk of the last 10, 20, 30 years,
37:27these encounters usually have happened
37:29in built-up areas like these.
37:31This, again, was a classic encounter
37:33where the security forces got the step off
37:35of a Jaish hideout inside a three-storey house,
37:38a concrete house.
37:40A cordon was laid, search was started.
37:42They were greeted with gunfire
37:44and an encounter ensued.
37:46For five hours,
37:48the Jaish Khader put up a resistance,
37:51but finally they were shot dead.
37:53Obviously, as you rightly said,
37:55there is collateral damage previously,
37:57but in this case,
37:59no powerful explosives were used,
38:01and mostly using gunfire and rifle grenades,
38:04they were killed.
38:06Two encounters we have seen,
38:08but now, Pooja,
38:10the focus shifts to the forest areas
38:12because while the local recruitment
38:15has come down to a trickle.
38:17Remember, five, six years back,
38:19it used to be in hundreds.
38:21Right now, multi-agency input says 15 to 20,
38:23out of whom six have been killed in two days.
38:25So you can understand,
38:2710-15 in total,
38:29if you talk of Kashmir Valley,
38:31so that's not a very significant figure.
38:33But what is dangerous is the presence of
38:35AFTs who are better trained,
38:37well-equipped, and are
38:39in many ways more war machines.
38:41Last two years, we've seen them camping
38:43in the forest area,
38:45and our sources say that post this,
38:47there will be a scan in the forest areas,
38:49and they are the real danger.
38:51They have perpetrated the Pahalgam attack,
38:53they are a threat to the Amarnath Yatra,
38:55and that is why the security agencies
38:57will go full throttle against them in the coming days.
38:59It's a reminder, that means, Farid,
39:01a lot changed, a lot of transformations
39:03were witnessed in Kashmir Valley,
39:05especially, but Pakistan will not want
39:07that to continue,
39:09and therefore will want to infiltrate
39:11more and more terrorists, active terrorists
39:13in South Kashmir, and that's where
39:15the armed forces, the security agencies
39:17cannot let their guard down.
39:19Terrorists still are around
39:21in J&K, will want to harm civilians
39:23and the armed forces. We'll be tracking more on that.
39:25And, Farid, thank you for now.
39:27But Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remember,
39:29visiting the Adampur Air Base.
39:31Now, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, this morning,
39:33was in Srinagar. The Minister
39:35visited an air base, also the Chenar Corps
39:37headquarter in Srinagar, which is responsible
39:39for the military operation decisions.
39:41So, he met, interacted with the station soldiers.
39:43It's also to understand
39:45what unfolded on the ground at a time
39:47when the Indian Air Force,
39:49despite repeated strikes,
39:51managed to neutralize 100 terrorists,
39:53different terror targets, military targets.
39:55A lot of the credit goes to the Indian Armed Forces,
39:57especially to ensure
39:59that in Srinagar and Avantipora bases,
40:01our strategic assets were kept protected.
40:03Defence Minister stressed that
40:05if Pakistan attempts misadventure again,
40:07it will know it will bleed even deep inside
40:09its own territory. There were, of course,
40:11slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and more.
40:13Let's listen in to what did the Defence Minister
40:15say.

44:27father currently is critical in the hospital with injuries.
44:31Amrik Singh, a ragi who performed kirtan,
44:33Amarjeet Singh, an ex-serviceman, and many others.
44:37Today, also watch the coverage of the people of Poonch,
44:40the courage and the valor that they have.
44:42These civilians stood their ground amid Pakistan's shelling.
44:46Healthcare workers continued their duty
44:49at the Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital.
44:51They're facing grief.
44:52They have been suffering from Pakistan's shelling
44:55for decades now, but they also continue to stand
44:57for their nation and the people, while Pakistan fired
45:00relentlessly at densely populated residential areas.
45:04India Today's Kamaljeet Sandhu with this extensive report
45:07from Poonch region.
45:10Almost a week has gone by since Poonch
45:12came under heavy artillery shelling, which
45:14killed over 13 people.
45:16We are here at the hospital because, remember,
45:19several people were injured.
45:21But there are these unsung heroes, the doctors,
45:25when everybody was rushing out of town.
45:28These are the doctors who stayed put.
45:30They kept treating those who were severely injured.
45:34Let's just start here because, remember,
45:36we've called these team of doctors a busy day,
45:38but we've called them just for a small bit to talk about.
45:43So do tell us, unprecedented night.
45:46I mean, unprecedented shelling, number of people coming in,
45:50wanting rescue, wanting relief.
45:53How did the team of doctors, how did
45:55yourself kind of go through this entire night?
45:59As is planned in our SOPs, our medical student, he was here.
46:03And we were here actually before the shelling started.
46:06We were wonderfully led by our director of health services,
46:09who himself was here.
46:10And as we were planning, we planned a system of triage.
46:14We saved our families.
46:16They were here in the quarters.
46:17And we all came to hospital, irrespective of specialties.
46:21These are the brave doctors.
46:22These are the faces because they are unsung heroes.
46:26Women doctors also present here.
46:28And ma'am, do tell us, I mean, what did it really take?
46:31I mean, you would be worried about your family,
46:33yet you were all here on ground.
46:35Yeah, I'm gynecologist, Dr. Priyanka Bhagat.
46:37On the day of the shelling, I was on duty.
46:40I was with my kids at the night when the shelling started.
46:43I consoled my kids and I took them
46:46to the hospital along with me.
46:48I thought if the shelling came
46:50and the patient came to the operation theater,
46:52what will I do?
46:53I consoled my kids and I shifted them.
46:56I, with the cooperation of all the staff,
46:58we managed the night.
46:59We managed sometimes in the below second floor, third floor.
47:03And we tried to-
47:04Can you imagine bringing in your children
47:06while it's bombing to ensure
47:08that not only do you take care of patients,
47:10but also take care of your own kids?
47:12Jalpeet Kaur, you are a doctor here.
47:15I mean, the sort of crisis,
47:18what is the precedent that you set in?
47:20Because it's inspirational to see
47:21so many women really come out.
47:23There are all doctors here, men, women, both putting in.
47:27How many days did it go on?
47:29I've been told there was no rest for at least four days.
47:32As soon as the shelling started, ma'am,
47:33without any intimation, we all rushed to the hospital
47:36and we started helping out with the patients.
47:38Ma'am, I am the child specialist.
47:39We had about 20 to 30 children admitted in our ward.
47:42Some of them were on oxygen because they were sick.
47:44And immediately, ma'am, our nursing staff and us,
47:46we started shifting the patients from the top floor
47:48to the ground floor to secure the patients.
47:50We calmed the families.
47:51We told them not to worry.
47:52We'll take care of the kids.
47:54And ma'am, there is a newborn ICU also here.
47:56There were several newborns on oxygen in the ICU.
47:59We could not shift them.
48:00Our sisters stayed with the babies,
48:02putting their lives at risk.
48:03We told the mothers and the fathers,
48:05they don't worry that the kids are our responsibility
48:07and we will take care of them.
48:08I think the name itself, Operation Sindoor,
48:11is a testimony to the strength and the courage
48:13of the women in our country.
48:15And I think we put our lives at stake,
48:17but we don't regret a single moment of it
48:19because this is what we have to do for our country.
48:21When the country needs us, we have to stand for it.
48:45How worried were you about your family?
49:02I'm Dr. Kamran Nisar, anesthetist.
49:05My family was away.
49:06My kids were at Jammu and they were constantly calling me,
49:09but I was not able to receive their calls
49:12and just telling them I'm here.
49:15And then my son told me,
49:16Mama, you are doing good.
49:18You remain there. I'll not come.
49:20Whatever we could do, we did.
49:22It was a ghostly nightmare.
49:24And without worrying for our lives,
49:28we were doing our best.
49:29Without worrying about their own safety,
49:31these are not all heroes wear capes,
49:35but some of them are in white and they are doctors.
49:38Look at the numbers.
49:39But remember, a whole lot of them discharged
49:41all because of timely intervention.
49:44Obviously, some lives could not be saved,
49:46but all doctors, all nurses, all reported here
49:50and the relentless work went on.
49:52We've been told it was food,
49:54hospital chairs were brushed in,
49:56in terms of 24 seven,
49:58they put in for the next four days
50:00till the crisis came to an end.
50:03And these are the heroes of the nation
50:05who stand before you.
50:07With camera person Girish,
50:08this is Kamaljeet Sandhu in Poonch for India Today.
50:12Incredible courage, remember, of the people,
50:15the determination of these people,
50:17whether healthcare workers or civilians as well.
50:19Perhaps it's time now that Pakistan
50:22is held accountable for how it targeted civilians.
50:25Remember this, India never did it
50:27despite the distress and anger it faced.
50:29It only went for terror targets and military targets.
50:32That's the difference that remains
50:34between India and Pakistan.
50:36I'm wrapping up this bulletin for now.
50:38Thank you so much for watching Five Live.
