00:42I think the weather's definitely helping and it will increase over the next number of days.

00:56Where'd you go?
00:58Where'd you come out before you come out?
01:00Where'd you come out before you comes from?

01:43dino world stand with four full-scale dinosaur replicas that all move and
01:49they've got motion sensors so if you walk near them they will roar and shake
01:54their heads about and here we have the owner of Glen Park Estates which is
01:59running Dino World Richard Beattie you're due to open this soon at your estate
02:05but you brought four of your favorite dinosaurs down for the day what is the
02:08public reaction being so far Richard? Well the public action today has absolutely been
02:13something new something people don't expect to see here at the Balmoral show and for
02:18ourselves in Glen Park Estates just outside Oma it's something new for ourselves
02:22we have a 43 acre site which is a caravan site and we do kids parties and we do a
02:28wedding venue so we have a part of the park which is sitting through lovely woodland
02:32trees so we plan to put all the dinosaurs in the park. How many of the models have you bought?
02:3621 all together okay so for the first of July yeah we hope to open the first of July
02:43open to the public for Dino World Glen Park Dino World
02:47Super and tell us have they have any people been startled at all by this Glen so
02:53far? A lot of people have come down to see the move some of the move their heads one's
02:57length and different movements so there's every one of us are different the other ones we have the other ones
03:02there's a complete different selection ranges of sounds with birds we have actually different sort of dinosaurs we're right through into crocodiles we're two competing lizards which is completely different you don't get them anywhere else in Northern Ireland
03:14right so first of January or first of July mark it in your diary for Glen Park estate Oma
03:20so very welcome to see us here so something you come bring the family to spend the day come
03:26the same the full day we have our pack is open farm come and see it Glen Park estate Oma thank you very much
03:47and sure enough Richard they are team as you say this is Richard Beatty and from Glen Park estate these are your alpacas here
03:54yeah and just as they've said they're completely team I can see these are
03:57these are eight alpacas they've got eight boy alpacas we do actually fun days come
04:04dining come pick your alpaca go for a walk around the Glen Park estate with it
04:08actually these are actually no problem at all these are actually so quiet we can take them into hospitals
04:16nursing homes wherever you want to go to are you seriously telling me you've had them in hospitals
04:20we have them in hospitals in the local nursing homes this year we have a lot of actually
04:24special needs kids right
04:26which are absolutely attached to the pack is a great way and actually actually a lot of people come in to see to their very
04:34thousand towards the people okay
04:36so natural you've had a halter lead lead them wherever you want to go at Glen Park estate no problem at all
04:43okay so anyone who wants to see them they can take a wee trip down either the Balmoral show here this week or at Glen Park estate
04:49thank you thank you come to Glen Park estate take your packet for the hang and make the days make it complete for the day Edmund
04:56Edmund Poots MLS speaker of the house you're taking the day off from the assembly Edmund
05:02well we have an assembly stand here so we've actually done an official business as well
05:06okay oh you're still at work okay so we've been uh hopefully get lots of people coming through the doors and uh finding out a bit more about the assembly about the legislation before it's passed and perhaps give us some ideas as to the legislation that people think should be passed
05:19okay but I noticed as a long time beef farmer you've managed to situate the assembly stand right beside the cattle rings Edmund was that accident or design?
05:27well I don't know it's very fortunate in any event because behind me I would say this is amongst the best cattle displays you will get anywhere in the world
05:36Northern Ireland is so good at producing beef and deep dairy and the cattle that you'll see in this lawn are premium
05:45and you know that's the example of what we have to sell to the rest of the world and that's why Northern Ireland is such a popular place to buy agri-food products
05:53did any take your eye this morning? you didn't get the checkbook out?
05:57I don't know if my checkbook would accept some of these animals we're looking at animals which could run into tens of thousands of pounds because the bloodlines are so good
06:06okay and uh there is international interest in what's going on here in terms of northern animal breeding
06:12okay I did um I think I saw a headline yesterday about MLS pay rises but we'll not go into that today because it's a light-hearted fun day Edmund
06:21but thank you very much indeed for your time
06:23no problem
06:24this is Richard Beatty president of the Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster
06:28Richard we're here on the first day of Balmoral 2025
06:32and I'm just speaking to you about the issues that are on the hearts and minds of young farmers across Northern Ireland
06:37you've got a membership of three and a half thousand is that right?
06:40yes there are three and a half thousand members across the province
06:43yes
06:44as a very strong within the largest rural organization in Northern Ireland
06:47So you're telling me that two of the issues uppermost in young farmers minds these days are coming out of a significant issue of rural isolation since Covid
06:58and also the inheritance tax issues that have been implemented by the Labour government
07:05so if we could just talk to rural isolation that has been a real issue according to your members but they're bouncing back?
07:12yep I think we're incredibly lucky the membership has bounced back well from Covid and since even before Covid has increased significantly from that there
07:21Young Farmers is the largest rural youth organization
07:24we offer a safe space and somewhere for young people to go to in rural areas
07:29with that they have a membership from 12 to 30 so it's a great place to mentor younger members to help mentor younger members through the organization
07:40out of inner structure with a club level county and then the whole way to province level Northern Ireland
07:46so it offers young people a good opportunity along the way
07:50and the tax issue that's exercising the minds of your members who have got their eye on a career on the family farm Richard?
07:58yes well and thanks everybody involved in farming be it from the family farm through the whole agri-food industry
08:03the changes in inheritance tax has been flagged as an issue from our membership
08:08and we did carry out surveys from that and over 90% of members seen it as a negative effect on their careers in agriculture
08:14not just those inherent in family farms so it's been you know as young farmers president and organization
08:21we have worked we tried to work with government to try and lobby that they were recently given evidence in Westminster
08:28to sort of highlight the points from a young farmers point of view and it's just really the concern
08:34Are you seeing any sign of change coming down the line? The government seems to be quite resolute don't they?
08:37They seem to be but as we've learnt in the last week or 10 days I think things might be changing slightly over in Westminster
08:45so hopefully we have a government maybe that's more willing to listen to the views of the young people
08:50So realistically what would you be hoping for if there is some change coming down the pipeline?
08:56Well consultation, first and foremost we'd like to see the inheritance tax removed in terms of agricultural property relief
09:05that was obviously the key aim for all members of the young farmers across the board
09:10so hopefully they can come to that
09:12These classes are all proudly sponsored by H&M Hotel
09:16providing agricultural and complete solutions
09:19and our judge Adrian Park is all the way from Wiltshire today
09:22he's done a fantastic job

09:25a great standard of breeding here for Dexter Pally
09:28with himself being a breeding of sower and actually a farrier naturally

09:48and he's been a nice place
09:50and he's gonna eat
09:51and it's just too hard
09:53It's not me
09:54but he's probably not
09:56it's not me
09:58But he's so excited
10:00Ah
10:30No, this is not.
