00:00You made the top 10 of this stage 5 years ago. What can you tell us about the finale?

00:07It's a really nice final, I think. Obviously we have Matera, it's a unique town.

00:15And yeah, I'm looking forward to today's final. Let's see how we get up there.

00:21We have especially Richard for the GC who have to keep safe and that's the first priority of the day.

00:28So is it a GC stage or a stage for the stage?

00:32I think it's going to come down to a bunch sprint, a bunch sprint selected group like it was 5 years ago.

00:40I think it was around 60-70 guys if Demarhi won.

00:47But I think there will be a hard pace for sure. There will also be a lot of guys trying to go up in the breakaway.

00:52It's maybe also an opportunity for them. And then I think we're going to see Trek trying to go for another win with Pedersen.

01:01And for our side, yeah, it's kind of a GC stage to stay safe but also obviously to be open-minded and yeah, to be ready to race.

01:16Do you take part in the Red Bull Kilometre for sponsorship reasons or for winning the Giro d'Italia?

01:25I cannot tell everything. Let's be the secret.

01:29Do you intend to go for time bonus again today or maybe every day?

01:34Well, yeah, I mean, obviously, hopefully not. No, I don't really. Yeah, it's hard to do sprint after sprint. So just have to see how the opportunities will be.

01:47There is an interesting sprint to do today. Sometimes you're a sprinter at the finish of stages like this. It's an appeal finish. Do you go for the win?

01:54I mean, if I would have the legs, definitely. I mean, yes. You know, the thing is when you have it, you have to take it. So we will see definitely how the stage will go.

02:05Is today your favorite stage of the Giro on paper out of 21?

02:10Yeah, I think this stage or stage 13, I think the two that really stood out to me. So yeah, I'm excited for today and looking forward to seeing how it pans out.

02:18How have you prepared for this stage?

02:20Yeah, I think it's just a punchy finish. It's one that really suits me. I do a lot of punchy efforts and training. And yeah, I think in a short climb like this, I can match the best I believe.

02:33I haven't probably haven't shown it to the rest of the world yet, but I hope today's the day.

02:38What scenario do you want before the finish?

02:41Yeah, I think the way Trek's ridden, the stage one and stage three, I think has been in my favor, actually. So yeah, I think they can have a lot of confidence.

02:50Obviously, Mads Pedersen's flying and proven he's the best on finishes like this. So hopefully they take it up and reduce the peloton and reduce it just enough that I'm there.

03:00And I can really take it to him in the finish.

03:03Jensen, can you explain what's your role alongside your compatriot Caden Groves?

03:08I think I'm here as a backup sprinter if there's injury or sickness and also to help out where I can. Yesterday, I had the opportunity just to sit on the wheel and protect his wheel, I guess.

03:33Today? Not so much. Yesterday, it was super hectic, but much more my style.

03:43Yeah, his form is actually pretty good considering he had some injury coming into this. So yeah, I think it could be a good chance.

03:52What is your impression of this Giro?

03:56He's not where he normally is, but he's got such an engine on him and he's super impressive rider. So I'm sure he can do something good.

04:06For last time in Matera, same finish. A Frenchman won. Do you see it finishing this way today as well?

04:13Yeah, at least I will try. I felt quite good yesterday. Yeah, a good final yesterday. And today I think we can go again today with 8x8.

04:25Yeah, it will be very hard, very active, but we are motivated.

04:30Too hard for you?

04:31Yeah, maybe too hard. I think the climb 2.5k at 10%, 25k from the finish will decide if I feel good or not.

04:40But if I'm still there in the final, I think it's a very good final for me. And yeah, with the steep climb to 3k from the finish, this is something I like.

04:52And if I'm there, I will try to go for a stage win.

04:56Isaac, what's the idea behind doing the time bonus in the intermediate sprint?

05:01We tried to win the bonus seconds, but at the end it was hectic. And I just passed through the other riders in my team.

05:10And now you are first of your team on GC. Does it matter?

05:15I mean, yeah, but we will see the plan is still there. And we, of course, we want to be near, but this is good, no?
