00:00Good morning it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Wednesday May the 14th bringing
00:04you some of our headlines today. First of all just to let you know I know a lot of motorists
00:10commuters have been concerned following the closure of the M18 yesterday after a road traffic
00:16collision. It's quite a serious one a very serious one in fact and the road has only recently just
00:22reopened after emergency services dealt with the initial collision and the aftermath of that.
00:28So yeah all's good to go on the motorway today. We'll obviously keep you updated of any news of
00:35those involved as and when we get it. Then on to politics. Reform UK has refused to answer questions
00:43about its vetting process of a new Doncaster councillor whose Facebook account featured posts
00:49comparing black Islamic dress to bin bags. The LDR service our reporter Harry that works there
00:57approached the party about a number of posts on the account of Mark Broadhurst along with people
01:08calling to suspend him. They've refused to comment. You can read all about that story and the sort of
01:16things that this gentleman has apparently posted on social media in the past. That's gaining quite a lot
01:24of interest obviously. Then finally I put something out yesterday that's still top of the charts. It's the
01:31future of the Doncaster Sheffield Airport. There's been some movements. A report from the Civil Aviation
01:37Authority has revealed that it's paused the air change space, airspace change sorry, after being informed by
01:46Doncaster Sheffield Airport that the provision of air traffic services for its airspace should remain in
01:50place until further notice. We've spoken to the UK Civil Aviation Authority. There is a quote in there
01:57from them about what's happening and they've also said that they will be coming back to us very very
02:03shortly with a further update. So as soon as I get that I'll obviously put that straight onto the website
02:08for you. So for those three stories anything else that's happening in Doncaster today just visit
02:13www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk and of course we'll keep you updated on Facebook and X and have a great Wednesday.
