00:10Fact number one. The chukwala is a type of lizard known as an iguanid.
00:15There are over 30 species of iguanid, including the endangered Fiji iguana.
00:21Fact number two. Chukwalas live in the desert.
00:25This includes the Sonoran Desert, which encompasses southern Arizona, southeastern California, most of Baja California, and much of the state of Sonora, Mexico.
00:36Fact number three. The chukwala's tail is about the same length as its head and body.
00:42Now, cool thing? If a predator grabs that tail, the chukwala can detach it and escape.
00:49Fact number four.
00:50Chukwala's primarily eat plant material, and they have a special bacteria in their gut that helps break that down.
