Tan Sri Azam Baki has expressed his gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia for consenting to his reappointment as the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for a one-year term, effective from May 13 until May 12 next year.

00:06M.A.C.C. to fight all forms of corruption and abuse of power.
00:11The 62-year-old on Monday thanked His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia,
00:15for consenting to his reappointment as the M.A.C.C. Chief Commissioner for one more year.
00:20His tenure will be effective from Tuesday until May 12th next year.
00:24Azam took office as the M.A.C.C. chief in March 2020 for three years
00:28and he was reappointed twice to the role for one-year terms between 2023 and 2025.
00:36Azam said he thanked the Prime Minister for continuing to place his trust in him
00:40to carry out his responsibilities.
00:42He said M.A.C.C. remains committed to improving Malaysia's Corruption Perceptions Index score
00:48to ensure the country continues to earn international trust and respect.
00:52Under his leadership, the M.A.C.C. has helped the Attorney General's chambers
00:56bring to court several high-profile cases involving former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin
01:01and other politicians.
