Tech leaders describe the human qualities that's off limits for AI.
Transcript
00:00Agency is probably the one that we should never forget.
00:02We have agency, we make decisions of why we do things, how we do things.
00:05AI has absolutely no agency and will never have agency as far as I'm concerned.
00:10AI can't replicate human touch, empathy in a real personal way.
00:15Although AIs can mimic our emotions and they can connect with us and give us advice and
00:21various other things, we still need that hug from a friend.
00:23I'm actually not sure what that would be.
00:25I think we're all going to experiment with AI and learn what feels uniquely human.
00:32I think that's part of the journey we're on.
00:34A human trait that AI can't replicate is dexterity for now.
00:38I think certainly some of the more physical skills, I don't know if AI has quite gotten there yet.
00:43And there's something about the human empathy and the ability to interact with a human.
00:48AI cannot replicate judgment when it comes down to really taking a look at
00:54new gene disease discoveries.
00:56That's one key aspect of what our team does day in and day out that requires a human's abilities versus AI.
