00:00Newcastle United midfielder Joe Linton missed the 3-0 win against Ipswich
00:04Tam with a knee problem and reports have now confirmed that he is to miss the
00:08rest of the season. The Shields Gazette's Joe Buck had speculated about whether
00:12Joe Linton would be fit for any further part.
00:15Yeah I think the one with the Joe Linton injury for me feels like it's one he could
00:19probably play with, he has been playing with it Eddie Howe admitted he's been
00:22playing with it for you know since he came back really before the cup final
00:25because getting him back for the cup final was really important and obviously
00:27they did that. Was it because it was Ipswich? You know is that a bit of
00:31thinking actually if Joe Linton's gonna miss a game he missed a game at
00:34Portman Road due to suspension you know and that was that was all fine so would
00:39that be a game? Maybe that went in they're thinking but I would obviously
00:42wait for the update but I'll be surprised if Joe Linton's not someone who could
00:45he could probably play the next four games with you know painkillers or
00:48whatever else to do it so I imagine that if he needs to be available then he
00:52will be. I think the Brighton they could probably get away with this again but I
00:55think against Chelsea he's shown in the past that he can be real force in that
00:59midfield and they want him back for them games. However with reports now outlining
01:04that Joe Linton will miss the final four games Lewis Miley or Joe Willock will have
01:08to fill in for the Brazilian midfielder. And young Sunderland player Chris Rigg
01:14picked up an award at the EFL Awards in midweek but he says that he is still fully
01:20focused on getting Sunderland through their playoff campaign and hopefully returning the
01:24WSI club back to the Premier League after several years away from it.
01:31Now I'm buzzing obviously I like to pick up some individual awards while the season's going on
01:37and obviously we know that hopefully we can pick one more up at the end of the
01:42season but that's nice to be recognised. I think I've learned a lot this season on
01:46and off the pitch and this award is mainly for off the pitch but I think on the pitch
01:52I've done my bit as well and like I'll keep going over it it's not over yet so
01:57hopefully that we can pick another one up on that on that on the end of the season.
02:01Obviously the past results haven't gone our way we know that the results haven't
02:04been very good the performances haven't been very good but I think we will get
02:09past QBR hopefully with a win and we'll knuckle down for the playoffs.
